Considering his prominence in the new Image comic, Jetfire makes a lot of sense. I like the idea of the Fire in the Sky set and would be very happy with Ironhide and Ratchet (though Wheeljack remains my number one want). I'd be very happy to get another Soundwave in cartoon colors, especially if he comes with some cassettes. I could also see the SDCC set as a good chance to get Devastator (I'm not up on my specific Transformers episodes enough to know who else should come in a set with him). But really, I'll be happy with anyone. These sets have all been great and I can't get enough of them.

We get the reveal on Monday so go ahead and codify your predictions so you can say “Called it!”

I’m locking in Dinobots.

Me, Cylonchaney, also want Dinobots!

It sounds to me like the set is based on one specific episode, which wouldn't really be true for the Dinobots. Plus, one would have to be left out.

Would Jetfire look like a Super Valkyrie, or is there a licensing issue there?

Lineup could be:

Slag
Sludge
Grimlock
Wheeljack

There were only three Dinobots in their origin episode. Possibly swap out Grimlock for another character as he is already made.

Zach confirmed that one character is a repaint into cartoon colors, so I think Grimlock would be a lock if there was a Dinobot set.

this is a cool fun set!

kinda laughing at the fact we got these 3 before skywarp but hopefully that means skywarp is in the works!

i think the animated shockwave looks pretty boss too.

Let’s go! Animated style colors or more of the original?

Not sure! Still unscheduled at this point. Probably original metallics, but we'll see.

we can't get gi joe but we can get this?

what a world....

I love GI Joe, and they were some of the greatest Minimates we've ever made. Not enough people bought them. No cartoon,  no movie, no interest. Transformers did great last year. Popular franchise. We haven't given up on Joe, but it's a tough sell to our sales department, which is still sitting on Series 1. We'll see how these do.

Oh i am not blaming you at all.  I know you are swinging at the fences for them... I just have sour grapes, and was hoping we could have seen some other G1 characters in the set... this looks like a box of transformers crayons :)

We have another TF set designed with more characters, including a certain purple-winged warrior, but this was a set we thought would be great for SDCC specifically. People like the Rainmakers, they get a lot less representation in toys.

Anyone read today’s Transformers?

I read it last night. Poor Ultra Magnus and his PTSD from Shockwave. It is one of my favorite comic series right now. IDW had pretty much killed any interest I had with Transformers. Thankfully Skybound has the Transformers and G.I. Joe license now. It's not had to beat all the poorly written comics being released the past few years by Marvel and DC though.

G.I. Joe ARAH, Rook Exodus, Gunslinger Spawn, Wolverine Deep Cut, Ultimate Spider-Man, and anything Mark Millar puts out (Nemesis: Rogues Gallery currently) are my favorite books right now.

I haven’t read yesterday’s, but I’m caught up entirely on everything Energon up until then.

It’s just such a vibrant and energetic universe. Full of joyful classic and yet new interpretations of characters I love as well as the GI Joe characters that I didn’t know I’d love.

Long ago I swore to never again buy monthly comics. But Energon broke my resolve.

i get the feeling i'm in the minority here for loving super7 as much as i do, but this looks like it'd be fun to go with the minimates:

$75 seems a bit steep to me for 2 figures (are they included?) and a large format diorama similar to the ones Luke has produced. I also note that every photo seems to be a computer rendering and it does not appear to have any play features.

Does look like a cool backdrop to display Transformers mates. But I bet one could make their own of comparable quality for less than $75.
