TMNT Minimates - it's official!

I got these from DST last week. I saw some got them a couple weeks before that. That’s why I placed my order this past week. Great figures!

I saw on some of the TF discussion that this line was ending? Nothing in this thread about it that I can find. Any chance for an update/confirmation on this when you get around Zach? 
 

love the latest set. Would be sad if it was the last Turtles stuff.

No I saw it in a discussion somewhere today. Don’t really where, scrolling through a lot of TF coverage on various sites/forums/platforms. But I don’t recall hearing it here in the past so I’m hopeful that someone what just misinformed.

i just got my sets from luke 

wow!!  it feels like forever ago since these were shown at toyfair, then cancelled, then announced again, then arrived at our doors.

loved this line.  would love one more box of just foot soldiers but oh well, at least i got the version of the turtles (and more importanly the bad guys) that i wanted.

Yeah, I would love others, like Tokka and Razer, Slash, the Triceritrons, the Rock Soldiers, Rey Filley, Mondo Gecko, Mona Lisa, but like, for the 'needs' for the TMNT, this pretty much covers it

Would have liked an all Foot pack. Granted I usually buy 2-3 sets but that is for the 1 to open, 1 to keep packaged (or signed at cons), if 3 then 1 for if something happens to the open set/parts. Really don't want to have to open a bunch of sets just to have the army builders. Don't really need a bunch of extra open named characters

I too need my samurai rabbit. Heed the call DST. Get Sakai on board so you can give us Usagi Yojimbo minimates. Heck even as a seperate line from the Tmnt as it's own thing would be good since then they could hit other characters too

I still don’t understand DST’s hesitancy to do army builder packs but was glad to get Foot in each pack at least.

Usagi either as part of TMNT or on its own would be rad.

At this point, I think the evidence is that the Licenser isn’t approving more so than DST not wanting to. It’s frustrating AF. I have bought several loose Foot Soldiers and even a few CoCos to make soldiers.

I don't know what evidence you're citing, but we have not designed nor submitted any new TMNT Minimates for approval. Not a case of the licensor not approving things. Maybe after the sale,  if we think it makes sense to continue the license, there will be more. These have done well, I think. All are sold out. Curious if something like Mutant Mayhem would satisfy people's interests in younger-leaning licenses for Minimates.

Personal opinion...

I think with longstanding brands, you need to go after what was THE hit version of the brand. Not trying to be insulting, but while GI Joe ARAH may not have sold as much as you would have hoped, I could have told you for free that the Action Soldier stuff would not get a lot of traction. If you feel you need to tie in current GI Joe to get more sold, fair enough, but I can't help but look at all the dozens and dozens of posts about army builder packs and all that, and see the tepid reaction DST seems to have to the suggestion/request. I am dropping about 600 bucks to make BATs, Vipers and Soldiers. That's 600 bucks I would have rather given to DST for actual packs. And I am nothing like the guy on HISSTank who has 2K BAT figures, or the dude who gets dozens of Crimson Guards, or etc. 

Re: Mutant Mayhem? Unless you plan on getting these to mass retail or drop bins for things like local comic stores, no, I would doubt it. I may buy some for parts, but if you want me, and I have to presume a lot of folks like me keyed in to the Minimate brand/classic versions of TMNT would prefer things like Usagi, Triceratrons, Ray Fillet, Mondo Gecko, Mona Lisa, etc. from the 90s cartoon or even the video games.

If by "tepid reaction DST has had to the suggestion" you mean me saying in these forums that it would be a good idea, but a hard sell, then I wouldn't put THAT much value in my responses. I love the Joe line, and I love Tele-Vipers, but I'm just being honest, and I am not the final word. I have pitched it to the higher-ups, but all of our suggestions need to get through not just them, but the sales department. After the sale, we'll see how the new Skybound Mates do, maybe army builders will happen at some point. But it is widely seen as a diminishing return, as the characters get less popular/iconic/recognizable, army builder or no. 

I did pitch a Foot Soldier army-builder, but got a similar response. I think Mondo Gecko may be a bridge too far.
