I hope to be able to do more customs but the mates are few and far between without a retailer that is not online. I would love to see mates in the wild again. My local Comic shop said they could order them but then when I request it they never do. Quote
DSTZach Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 Sorry, dude. When we went from two-packs to box sets, it was to make it easier to order for comic shops. I would hope that if you asked them to order you a set that is in stock, they would have the decency to order it. Quote

But I will start cannibalizing my extras for parts if I need to so I can feed my desire to customize mates. Quote
Captain Paco Posted August 13, 2025 Author Posted August 13, 2025 So I got both DC themed decal/sticker kits from Luke's Toy Store. I made what I felt I had the parts for so far. Superboy Sinestro Sinestro in his yellow lantern attire is a much better looking character than in the classic blue costume he wore. So glad Luke made these decals. Used a Adam Warlock's legs as I felt the look was classier for Sinestro. Mr. Freeze and Two Face So I took the Gotham Boxset Mr. Freeze and used Luke's sticker to make a new head. May end up changing it back and making a new suit of armor at some point. Mr. Zsasz Commissioner Gordon & Alfred Pennyworth So I used Detective Bullock's trench coat from a Gotham boxset and Agent Tony Chu's chest block and legs. And Alfred is Captain Barnes from a Gotham boxset as I felt a tuxedo was just too formal for his everyday attire. Quote
Captain Paco Posted August 13, 2025 Author Posted August 13, 2025 Thank you, CylonChaney. I appreciate Luke Porter for producing the sticker kits. DC and Star Trek Minimates were the reason I started collecting and I am now going to be on the look out for more decal/sticker kits of Star Trek or DC characters and start to cannibalize my marvel mates to make my DC or Star Trek characters. Captain Paco Posted August 22, 2025 Author Posted August 22, 2025 So I am curious, I am on a kick of making DC characters and attempting to do some with all the extra sets of Minimates I discovered in my collection. I was going to do come creative licensing on Atomic Skull, no green or purple skulls and fire(hair) parts so I was going to use the Ghost Rider from Wave 50 for the blue head and blue flame and I may use an Avalanche body. I am now curious as how to make a Copperhead with out paint or sculpting parts. I am likely going to have to sculpt a tail and I will work on that when I make Saint Walker. But any ideas for Copperhead: I was looking to try and use Constrictor for the base of the figure. I never got Martian Manhunter in Minimate form so I am attempting to use a Skrull head, Marvel Now! Magneto body and She-Hulk Arms. I just can't figure out if I am happy with it or not. (The green Skrull head and the She-Hulk Arms are close in color and since they are not directly side by side, they look alright.) But I am torn about hands for Metamorpho, I don't have that shade of orange or purple/magenta in hands. Any ideas? Quote

Clear blue for water and maybe a green for Kryptonite? Quote
Captain Paco Posted August 22, 2025 Author Posted August 22, 2025 That was a thought of mine, Trekker 42. Thank you for helping me in my thoughs. I have Luke's sticker set but I opted to use a translucent blue leg and a Sandman leg instead of the decals. I then have a Thing rocky hand for the orange side currently and I was perplexed by the purple/magenta side. I have shifted my thought for Atomic Skull and have used a Walgreens Ghost legs and torso/arms with a Spartan waist piece and Spartan chest armor piece. I feel this is a better look. I will post my Atomic Skull soon. Quote
Captain Paco Posted August 22, 2025 Author Posted August 22, 2025 Here are my newest DC Customs. Some many need some future tweaking when I have new ideas but for now, here are my newest works. Silver Banshee Atomic Skull Metamorpho This next one is my version of Martian Manhunter. I call it Martian Manhunter 2.0 Quote
Padrino Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 Love these! Did you try the new Goblin or Jackal chest piece? A bit of red tape/marker in an X across the torso may be a good substitute. Don't know if the colors match the Skrull piece. Quote

I am still looking at other options for make him look more like the Martian Manhunter as it is a cool character due artistic licensing with him being a shapeshifter. I will likely be adjusting Martian Manhunter in the very near future. I do value the insights of this community and hope it has a long future even if Minimates may not. Quote

I was just scrolling through the decal archives and noticed someone named Bzorio posted this: its angled but you may be able to modify it for printing Quote

Captain Paco Posted September 2, 2025 Author Posted September 2, 2025 (edited) If anyone reads this: I have a question or two or so. 1) Is the chest block under the chest piece of X-Factor Beast printed with a red "X" on it? I would love to find this chest block if it does have a red x on it. 2) I am also curious, if wanted to make a Copperhead mate (from DC Comics), what parts would you suggest to convert Constrictor into this DC Villian? 3) If I was to make DC's Mirror Master, what current Minimates parts would you recommend to use? Thank you in advance for at least reading my message. Edited September 2, 2025 by Captain Paco Quote
elhonez Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 I don't think it does, but haven't looked for a while. Quote
Captain Paco Posted September 2, 2025 Author Posted September 2, 2025 So have tinkered with a Lois Lane, Perry White, Obsidian and adjusted my Jade. I have attempted to make a Silver Scarab and Bloodwork (really just a Carnage Minimate could be used but I am trying several combinations of parts. I am also up to make a Cyclone minimates but not sure whose hairpiece I should consider. Any ideas? (looking for Cyclone from the Black Adam movie.) Quote
Captain Paco Posted September 3, 2025 Author Posted September 3, 2025 So here are my version of Lois Lane and Perry White. Then I tweaked my Jade and now I have her twin brother Obsidian. Here is a quick idea that i had as I found a extra package with Carnage and Hobgoblin in it. So I give you my take on Etrigan the Demon. May still tweak him but wanted to share what I have so far. I am attempting an Alan Scott, Silver Scarab and Bloodwork. Also may tinker with Guy Gardner from the recent Superman Movie or an attempt to resemble that look. Quote
Captain Paco Posted September 4, 2025 Author Posted September 4, 2025 (edited) Good Morning, here is a concept figure of Guy Gardner, in as close as I can get for now, in a uniform similar to how he appeared in the 2025 Superman Movie. Here is my concept for a minimate version of the villain, Bloodwork. Edited September 4, 2025 by Captain Paco Quote
