Navaan Posted January 16 Posted January 16 8 hours ago, Liney said: Oops - yep, these are for clear paper, as I don't know of any all grey mates, or how to print silver. I tweaked the face for you - no idea if it needs a skin tones added? Nope, that is perfect. My plan is to try and get clear orange or yellow tape, cut it and put it over the eyes like a visor, and then find some old, texture-less Emma Frost hair and paint it silver, too. The body won't be perfect, but it will be good enough for me. Quote

I bought silver mailing labels from amazon. they work well since most printers (at least the ones that I have tried) do not do silver very well. you just have to make sure that the background is transparent, not white. For color, I have been using waterproof mailing labels. the color transfer works well and the print does not rub off. Quote

When you say the background has to be transparent, not white, how does that work? I would have thought anything white would effective print clear? I'm working through tidying and sharpening up most my old stuff - I can't decide whether to post everything individually, or just link to the whole online album? I only seem to be able to add one image per post nowadays My Gallery — Postimages Marvel — Postimages Star Trek — Postimages I might make a new Star Trek mega post with a link, and then just list what should be in the album Edited January 18 by Liney Quote

There were times when I tried this and the printer printed a different color as a background, like a weird shading. This happened more when I printed from a jpeg vs. a pdf. It may have been an issue with my printer. I think it assumed the white background was part of the picture (as opposed to negative space) and tried to print something in its place. Quote

Liney Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) 18 new star trek decals added to the above - the 6 released TOS mate chests in the three colours. As these are nicer, sharper versions of the old ones, I'll delete the originals from the old post. Eventually it will just be any I don't remake, or any that are drastically different to the new one - like the female chests. Edited April 8 by Liney Quote
Liney Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) Been trying to rework my Salt Vampire, and cant decide on a couple of things: I hated how I drew the fur originally. Is the more textured version better? Not sure how to do the arms and legs... Will probably use CFTBL hands and feet. I want to add a skirt/loincloth, but it won't work with the net print form the first chest. Does the colour underneath look ok? I have no idea where the net layer came from, so will probably have to redraw it with my tablet Edited February 5 by Liney Quote
Liney Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) Another ongoing project - the Agents of Noh from Kabuki New chest and back for the Indie-Mate Kabuki - colour matched (to my printer at least) Edited January 23 by Liney Quote
THE_CRIPPLER Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Will you be making new decals for the Witchblade minimate? I was excited to hear we were getting her, but felt that the minimate was just not well executed. Very bulky looking for one thing. I occasionally think about making a new version, but never get around to it. Quote

Hopefully! - its mainly new better straps and a David Mack illustration for the back tattoo added to a sharpened version on my old one. I might whip a new mask decal to throw under newer short bob hairpiece to fully update her 🤔 And then finish making rest of the Agents of Noh... 8 hours ago, THE_CRIPPLER said: Will you be making new decals for the Witchblade minimate? I occasionally think about making a new version, but never get around to it. I've definitely thought about it, but couldn't decide where to start. The other 3 from the Indie-Mates really only needed small fixes. Witchblade really needs a whole new flesh tone body. Maybe with Luke's new template I could give it a try Edited January 24 by Liney Quote
Liney Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Well my fun Robot decals seem to have been a victim of the great laptop crash of 2025... I remade the first one - with the tape deck and lights - and reuploaded. The second one I wasn't as happy with, it seemed a bit clunky, so had a bit of play around and happier with it now Quote
Liney Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Re-did my Snowbird face, and updated the one on page 7. https://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?/topic/10647-the-decal-thread/page/7/#findComment-263143 Tried to make her a little bit more gentle and feminine looking. Quote
Liney Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Found these lurking in my attachments, but can't find them in here or in my custom thread Waluigi and Wario - I did have to break the no noses rule for them, as they are pretty defining features... Edited January 27 by Liney Quote

This means for lines with irregular width you have to draw it as a shape, rather than a single line. Hopefully that makes sense? Your custom work is awesome! I'm looking into making my own as well. I'm hoping to make a new Ronin (I didn't like the Endgame chest piece), and some customized X-Men. Are you customizing your torsos off of Luke's Sticker Template? Also, Would you happen to have a default woman/man torso outline? Also also, does anyone have recommendations on printers for the decals? Any laser printer can do the trick? Quote

My chests are just a square file in photoshop - 13mm wide x 12mm high, at 300cm resolution. I just measure things with a ruler as accurate as possible. Or for things like arms and heads, wrap in masking tape and mark where they overlap - then measure I really need to get my callipers out and properly measure a chest block - unless anyone has a good measurement to share? I have a basic female I use - I tweak the bust shape, and try and vary the abs a bit. For males I tend to find a good reference pic(s) from minimate database that fit the character I'm doing Quote
Liney Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Vampirella - face, chest, hips, and armband Been working on this on and off. Not sure on the face - I feel she needs to be a bit more playful, but without looking too much like the Elvira face I've got in progress. Might try another face with a smirk and less angry brows eventually. Quote
Liney Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) Speaking of Elvira... Freshened up - with a more accurate eye shadow colour, and lighter shading on the torso Edited July 23 by Liney Quote
cylonchaney Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Those are great! Elvira's boobs aren't big enough though. LOL Quote
