It took about 14 rolls of filament (14kg) all in. Right around 11kg for the figure itself. The other 3kg were test-sizing prints and a couple of failures. The hip piece went through many iterations. Early prints didn't have thick enough perimeters so they were more fragile than I expected. Poor guy broke a hand and a hip a few weeks apart. I had planned on printing the torso block all in one go, but it was going to take three and a half days. So I chopped it into five pieces. You can see the seams in the next image. I started the last week of February, so about a month and half of printing. Not all day, every day. I tried to keep it to waking hours. I'm still not comfortable letting the printer run over night. The figure itself took around 300 hours of print time. Maybe an additional 80 hours for the failures and bad test fits. I have a bad habit of eyeballing estimates. "Just scale the ball up 2%, that'll work." Repeat, repeat, repeat. I didn't realize how much it adds up until I did the math. Next, I'm going to refactor the shoulder and hip ball joints. They don't hold as well as I'd like. They're supporting a lot more weight than they can handle. Cube square law is a bitch. Then it'll go through a sanding and painting phase. If you have something to use as a clear helmet for the base, you could maybe manufacture the pieces out of styrene or make them with sculpy or something. The hardest part I can see is the helmet. If you're going to skip it you could manufacture the accents and glue them to the head. I don't know if you've ever seen the Youtube channel Toy Polloi. He does vintage toy repair and restoration stuff. But I've gotten some customizing ideas from watching him. All my Invincible figures have been gifts for my buddy that waters my plant and grabs my mail when I travel. The recently completed Nolan and Allen were meant to be this year's gift but he recently mentioned that I should make Conquest so I have taken that as a hint. This is the same guy that makes the short AI videos I've posted. There's a bunch of Invincible characters way down my list. And now I have to slot in the crew of the Venture somewhere. Funny you should mention the Phantom. I have a roll of purple plastic and have recently added gun belts to my accessory designs. He's been on my list since I got that purple roll. Before kingdoms rose, before stars had names, The Seal was forged to bind what should never walk free. Long before recorded history, the world was not a single realm - it was a crossroads of three planes: The Mortal Realm (Earth), The Spirit Realm (home to the ancestral forces) and the Astral Realm (cosmic consciousness and celestial beings). The realms overlapped freely and beings crossed between them without restriction. This created chaos, spiritual storms, cosmic predators, corrupted spirits and mortal suffering as humanity was caught in the middle.
