Interesting. On the one hand I'm very tempted to pass just on principle alone. OTOH there's more females, all of them have dynamic designs, and they're Indy comics, all of which I've been clamoring for. We'll see how that works when they get closer.

I may know next to nil about this series (though that prototype statue up on AA's site does look gorgeous), but it always warms my heart to see more epic heroine characters in comics... especially when they look that hardcore

Please let these 'mates come to pass! And please let us overseas folks have a fighting chance at these!

IF these happen, I think my wife will buy them for herself. That is a dang long time for mates though, and considering that fact that typically they run behind schedule I wouldn't expect to see these till this time next year.

I'm not impressed with them, but I know nothing of the comic (and am not planning on looking into it). I do have to wonder though if that's the first Minimate that's been in a thong.

I like the skeleton dude with the tattered coat. I know nothing of the comic but would get those figures if the become available.

They look pretty ridiculous as far as character designs go, but for Minimates. . .that can work! Skeleton guy would really stick out on the shelf, I think. Plus, he could be used as a pretty ready-made custom base for awful Jim Lee creation Grifter.

--edit: correction, it seems that Grifter's mask covers his whole face. . .nevermind --

I chatted briefly with Jim Balents wife this morning. This comic is from their company, they created it and all that. The minimates are the real deal they will be coming out later this year.

I think they look good...I havent read the comic but the mates look nice for sure

I suppose my biggest excitement about these is that maybe it'll open the door back open for more indie-mates. I think there are plenty of series out there that could handle the Minimate treatment, but the bad experience of the indie-mates has made everyone suffer.

I'm glad we're getting new properties, and hopefully this will lead to other independent creations jumping on the Minimate bandwagon. But thongs just don't work on a block figure.

I'll definitely be picking these up. Not a fan of Tarot as such but was a big fan of Balent's Catwoman run.

I think these actually look pretty cool. The comic characters look a bit 'Lady Death' for my liking - but the 'Mates are pretty sweet. I think they're worth buying just for that - and to help support another line of MM.
