Shamrock
Alright! Did a custom during the long weekend, aaaaaaaand left my camera back at the dorm. Woo! Perhaps because of the special occasion, it will turn into a series and I'll actually participate in Customcon. Oh yeah, and a hint: It's the return of some of my oldest custom Minimates. Shamrock
Oh hey! I'm not gonna talk about that thing I mentioned, and instead bring up that I did a small batch of commissions back in the summer, which I never posted. Among those were a few Lanterns I already made, one new one and two with big changes. First a deader Black Hand Then a pinker Indigo, who we now know goes by Indigo-1 And Saint Walker Looking at them, I should do commissions more often. They seem to come out better. Shamrock
SErge: I'm currently re-evaluating my prices, so I've got nothing to report on that yet. Also, I'm currently at school, and I rarely, if ever make customs during my time here to focus on my studies. However, I'm in my senior year, so (assuming I have a job) you guys should be seeing more from me after May with fewer 5 month breaks. Bob Harris
Like I already mentioned several times, I'm not a DC reader, so unfortunatelly I don't really know these guys. But there is this nifty little thing called the interwebs and there you'll get all the info and pics you need to be able to say: stellar! Although it's just a tiny detail compared to the rest, I really like the round cut on Black Hand's mask!
Shamrock
So, here's a little Shamrock update: I've graduated college! That's means no more multi-month breaks between customs from me! Well, that's a lie, there will still be those, but they'll be for different reasons (like laziness) And my first custom with a diploma is for the Amalgam Contest, a character I call the Iron Bat! After the abduction of his parents at the hands of a vicious rebel group, Tony Wayne built a powerful suit of armor in order to rescue them. Arriving only in time to witness their murder, Wayne dedicated his life and fortune to protecting the lives of the innocent while striking fear into the hearts of criminals. Armed with an arsenal of the most advanced technology, the Iron Bat patrols the shadows of Gotham City keeping the streets safe from crime. And a little peak into the rest of this universe.... the photos are all sepia toned because I forgot my new computer doesn't have photoshop, and I didn't white balance in-camera. Oops. Shamrock
Oh yeah, and a little bio for Thor, or Superman, as the papers like to call him, before I get the custom even started. Sent to Earth from the doomed world of Asgard by a bolt of lightning, the infant God of Thunder was adopted by the kindly Kent family of Smallville, Kansas. Young Jake Kent grew strong and powerful after discovering the enchanted Uru hammer Mjolnir in the same spot he was discovered as a baby, transforming him into the mightiest warrior of mythology: Thor! As the son of Odin, Thor's strength, endurance and resistance to injury are greater than the vast majority of his mostly-extinct superhuman race. To avoid any religious connections, papers such as the Planet-wide Bugle began calling the Norse God by a new name, "Superman", much to the god's disapproval. Captain Minimate
From Dead Black Hand and down, I love all of them! I can't wait to see Superthor as well. Just a little comment on Iron Bat, I think the helmet looks a bit weird. Maybe if you cover more of the front panel of the helmet in black it would look cooler. Still, your customs never cease to amaze me!
Shamrock
Thanks for the tip. It may be a little too Iron-Man-ish the way it is now.
homestar17
Thanks for the tip. It may be a little too Iron-Man-ish the way it is now. I actually like it the way it is. I mean, it's pretty much what it would look like. Any other black on the mask would make it look "Joker"-ish -- like in the movie ads (why u so serious?). Or cartoon-y. Punisher
Looks great Shamrock. You really captured the character; it doesn't just look like an "Armored Batman".
Shamrock
So, the theatrical trailer for Scott Pilgrim came out this week, and it got my hooked on the series again. So, after watching the trailer about 500 times yesterday, I decided my Minimate needed an update. Basically his eyes rotated 90 degrees. Plus got a new fighting expression on the other side of his head, and the power of love. Expect more Scott Pilgrim characters from me in the future. Also Superman/Thor, which my brother calls "Thuperman" Edited June 2, 2010 by Shamrock
