“For those of you excited by today’s web update, next week will really blow you away.”

Ady/DST hinted at the above when they announced the 24 toys today...
So it's something new they are teasing us with & whatever it is DST sound quiet excited about it...

Does anyone have any thoughts on what it could be? My guess is "Blown Away" is the big clue...

Get those thinking caps on and lets start a rumor mill a cranking LOL smile.gif

Geez I have no idea. I'm taking it that it has to be a new license or minimate reveal. Perhaps eluding to a new license for a new TV series comming off his comments from 24? Heroes the TV show minimates? Are we really going to get Spider-man 3 minimates? These are the only things I can think of at this point.

How about the eventual release of the Fantastic Four movie mates? tongue.gif They do keep piling on movie licenses.

I hope their planning on releasing Blown Away Minimates. Who wouldn't want Corey Haim and Corey Feldman in Minimate form?

Well with the MGM stuff that's coming out of DST I'm gonna make a guess that's what we're looking at...

Maybe blown away hints at some action movie?

If I were to take a random guess I have a nagging "Dirty Harry" vibe in my skull.... not sure why even if that's MGM but it fits the blown away thing and lil clint eastwoods would be very cool. biggrin.gif

Or James Bond, Casino Royale was fairly big... now could be the time for bondmates tongue.gif

Wow ... I knew someone was going to go with a "Blown Away" joke ... did not see the Coreys coming. Thought it would be the Jeff Bridges movie. Now I guess we can move on to the inappropriate jokes. Come on ... let's just get it out of our system. wink.gif

I'm guessing along the lines of JL ... Spider-Man 3 for wave 16.

My wish = GI Joe, Transformers, Lost or Army of Darkness. (All could fit into the BLOWN AWAY hint ... at least a little)

Transformers would be cool, but would they transform? GI joe is a nice license, but the 3 3/4" market might have something to say about it.

JL and the Wurlies would rock more.

Oh dear god, who wouldnt want the greatest 60s beat combo in Minimate form?!!?

--------------------
Things you should know:
AA are now owned by DST
The DC mates are made by DC Direct, so there are no "licensing issues"
The Marvel license cant go above 2"
The Ghost Rider and Target Spider-Man waves are "cancelled"
The Search Function is good.

If true, I hope they make the Wurlie-mobile. It could come in a set like the Speed racer sets.

My guesses are Stargate or Die Hard. (Just because I really want Die Hard 'mates - the Palz just didn't do it for me.)

My final guess: Not news of another license per se ... maybe some concept art for the 24 'mates. Or for those ellusive new 2" Star Trek 'mates. That would be pretty big.

(which, by the way, I can't BELIEVE that I haven't freaked out about yet. Please let these actually get made. Let there be a Battle Damaged Jack. Please do some of the earlier seasons, not just the current one. Please let there be a Chloe. Please have Jack come with his magic PDA. SO hopeful for this line ...)

After thinking about this line for a bit I think I would be all over a Jack/Nina 2 pack (Nina complete with some kind of needle in the neck feature) I was so hopeful we would get a "showdown" season with the 2 of them facing off against each other but alas it was not to be.

I think with the breathless anticipation over the cereal minimates, DST will release a line of Consumer Products Minimates, starring such timeless characters as Aunt Jemima, Mr. Clean, The Jolly Green Giant, and the Quaker Oats guy. biggrin.gif

I would love a Wilford Brimley Minimate. He would complete my Cocoon diarama.

For my sensible guess I'm going to have to say either Star Trek or Stargate.

For my wacky guess I'm going to say Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Fairy Tale mates (Little Red Riding Hood! Hansel! Gretel! The Big Bad Wolf!)
