An Ebay Thread

Recommended Posts

Just a suggestion but i was thinking that maybe an ebay thread in the "Flea Market" section would be a good idea. People can put up their recommended sellers and sellers that are probably best avoided. They could also put up their ebay ID's so that we know who we're attempting to outbid and so on ;)

Seen this sorta thing work on another board and i thought it was a good idea so who knows, maybe it'll work here...

My only gripe with posting your ebay id is the whole don't outbid thing. I know we're all like family here, and one should never go against family, but sometimes need outweighs want. Let's say I need a Daredevil minimate to complete my collection, and someone else from the board is high bidder on it despite having three at home, plus seven more taken apart for parts. Is it wrong for me to outbid them, knowing full well who it is? Or, on the other foot, I need Colossus for a custom I'm working on, but someone else is high bidder. Is it wrong for me to bid then?

Let's face it, some of the older characters are hard to come by and if I'm willing to pay $5 compared to someone else willing to pay $3, I don't see it as wrong to outbid that person.

I agree with you on that i suppose, and if people's ID's are public then it can possibly cause problems if say person A outbids person B on an item that person A REALLY wanted and or needed...

Maybe i didn't really think that part out properly but in theory i think the rest of the idea is pretty sound

We had a thread with eBay ID's on the old forum. I think, for the most part, people either already know members eBay ID's (from the previous lists) or they recognize them (since some people have the same handle there as here).

It's a nice idea that members shouldn't outbid other members but I've done it on occasion and it's been done to me.

Yeah I've backed away from items I've seen other members bidding on. Think I pm'ed Ady about something he was also after and got the green light to bid too. It only seems right to at least ask first rather than ruffle feathers after outbidding someone.

If you outbid me I will spread rumors about you at the next Girl Scouts Jamboree.

That was you? ... Katie said she heard something about me...

Right then well the ebay thread was obviously a bad idea :P

That and i'm pissed cos i just got sniped on a pack of minimates i really wanted

Who were you looking for ?

T.

I was bidding on the LOTR two pack of Saruman and Wormtongue. Wasn't too bothered about Wormtongue cos i figured i could use him to mess about with my customisation skills but i wanted Saruman and for £3.99 i wasn't gonna complain :P

I've got about half a dozen Saruman's lying around. Send me your address and I'll get one out to you. Do you want Wormtoungue as well?

Dude, only if you are sure ?

I'm not really worried about Wormtongue though cos i was gonna use him as a customising tester because after looking at the customs boards it's something i would like to try for myself :D
