LDroome
Just saw this on Youtube, in case it hasn't been posted yet, . I thought it was custom figs at first.
TM2 Dinobot
Interesting. On the one hand I'm very tempted to pass just on principle alone. OTOH there's more females, all of them have dynamic designs, and they're Indy comics, all of which I've been clamoring for. We'll see how that works when they get closer. Dio
^Interesting is the only word I can think of to describe these XD First Goth Girl, then these... Maybe we'll see Buffy in the future?
BrobotC
i like them, although im not familiar with the characters, they will make good customs! if these are real..............
NorthRaider
Oh my stars and garters... I may know next to nil about this series (though that prototype statue up on AA's site does look gorgeous), but it always warms my heart to see more epic heroine characters in comics... especially when they look that hardcore Please let these 'mates come to pass! And please let us overseas folks have a fighting chance at these!
vbpanizzi
IF these happen, I think my wife will buy them for herself. That is a dang long time for mates though, and considering that fact that typically they run behind schedule I wouldn't expect to see these till this time next year. groundhog7s
I'm not impressed with them, but I know nothing of the comic (and am not planning on looking into it). I do have to wonder though if that's the first Minimate that's been in a thong.
gambitron
I also know nothing about this series but I would definitely buy those as they look really cool.
MiniFiend UK
I like the skeleton dude with the tattered coat. I know nothing of the comic but would get those figures if the become available.
karamazov80
They look pretty ridiculous as far as character designs go, but for Minimates. . .that can work! Skeleton guy would really stick out on the shelf, I think. Plus, he could be used as a pretty ready-made custom base for awful Jim Lee creation Grifter. --edit: correction, it seems that Grifter's mask covers his whole face. . .nevermind -- Edited February 9, 2010 by karamazov80
minijeff
I chatted briefly with Jim Balents wife this morning. This comic is from their company, they created it and all that. The minimates are the real deal they will be coming out later this year. I think they look good...I havent read the comic but the mates look nice for sure Jeff of the Miniacs
groundhog7s
I suppose my biggest excitement about these is that maybe it'll open the door back open for more indie-mates. I think there are plenty of series out there that could handle the Minimate treatment, but the bad experience of the indie-mates has made everyone suffer. boyd
I'm glad we're getting new properties, and hopefully this will lead to other independent creations jumping on the Minimate bandwagon. But thongs just don't work on a block figure.
Rad
I'll definitely be picking these up. Not a fan of Tarot as such but was a big fan of Balent's Catwoman run.
Nessex
I think these actually look pretty cool. The comic characters look a bit 'Lady Death' for my liking - but the 'Mates are pretty sweet. I think they're worth buying just for that - and to help support another line of MM.

Ivan
Oh my. Something about this title sounded familiar. After searching my browser history, I brought up this Comics Alliance article titled "The 15 Worst Comics of the Decade". Tarot is the third one on the first page. Be sure to following the link that reviews Issue 53. Boo! Minimates look good though.

captain_cbecker
Tarot is an interesting comic if you're look for something "porn-y". Most of the stories some how involve a close battle where Tarot ends up losing most (if not all) of her clothes. It's like almost every porno you could imagine, where there is some forced or implausible reason to strip or have sex or whatever. That being said, "Porn-y" isn't necessarily a a bad thing, especially if you like pics of naked comic-book women. To be completely accurate, Tarot should have removeable armor. Just let me know where I sign up for these mates. Edited February 11, 2010 by captain_cbecker
Twisted Two-Face
Wow...random license...okay... I gotta say...being 16, i feel REALLY wrong about buying these minimates. Part of me wishes i hadn't read that Issue 53 review. They look INCREDIBLE and are great designs; since i want to be a comic artist, i really do appreciate what one must go through to have to draw and create things like Tarot. It's all morals, really. Thee mates look INCREDIBLE... But i just can't enjoy them as much as i'd like to. I MIGHT buy them, but it'll be a real challenge when it comes time to. They are a HARSH, HARSH maybe for now though. Mattallica
seems like a bad move for DST to put these out, it could get folks to misconstrue that all minimates = mature themes and that can easily kill deals with large retailers, especially a shame when there are so many licenses that could/should be made. as always just my $.
