Politician
It seems I clash with a few of the members here and it's not doing the forum any favors so I'm thinking maybe I should request an account and IP ban?Just being super honest and not sarcastic, I have a way different posting style than people here and it seems like it's not working out. The last thing I want to do is call anyone out or blame anyone because it's not anyone's fault, it's just how things are.So should I get in touch with an admin by PM? AdyCarter
As the worlds most absent admin I don't really know what issues you speak of. However if you feel so strongly couldn't you just log out and not log in again? Unless we've upgraded to sentient board software no one is forcing anyone else to post or interact. I'm happy to ban everyone, but it seems to me you could deal with this yourself in a less public way.

Where ya been man!? ... and yeah I mean if you really want to go there is probably a "delete account" thing. But hey, you managed to bring the Return of AdyCarter! Can't be all bad! buttheadsmate
Please do the right thing which IMHO is to get this thread deleted by the Mods ..........then get back to posting & 'clashing' with a 'few of the members' . Fortunately I don't clash with anyone ,I'm never sarcastic & everyone agrees with me .
DSTZach
Maybe there are other cases, but I'd like to say that I hope that my responses to your comments didn't make you feel like you shouldn't have made them. They were legitimate points, and people have posted in far more confrontational ways than you. And it takes two to clash. I'm sure many here will tell you I enjoy a good debate and/or that I can be overly defensive of DST decisions. I occasionally consider a self-ban, as well, but I usually settle for my own weak attempts at self-control.

MisterPL
I vote for sticking around. If everyone felt exactly the same way about everything, I wouldn't bother showing up. Besides, at the end of the day, it's toys.

karamazov80
Just stop logging in. If you decide to come back later, you can. If not, you don't have to.
THE_CRIPPLER
Its Mardi Gras people. Lets gets happy. I need to come down with my wife and visit you during Mardi Gras one of these years. I want to enjoy it while I'm still relatively young. I've been down to Bourbon Street a few times in the past and had a good time, but I'm sure Mardi Gras is a heck of a lot more fun. karamazov80
It's funny, I grew up going to parades, but I'm hesitant to bring my kids around any of that, for fear of exposing them to some of the debauchery that goes hand-in-hand with Mardi Gras. As a 7 or 8 year old, I certainly saw some things I don't think kids should see! We did go to the "Krewe of Mutts" dog parade in Baton Rouge last year, though I've become a stodgy, overprotective fuddy duddy, though. I don't even want to show my oldest Back to the Future yet, after screening it and seeing too many cuss words for comfort. MisterPL
I'm probably overprotective, too. Our city has one of the largest St. Patrick's Day parades on the east coast and I've never taken my kids to one because it's less a celebration of Irish heritage and more of an excuse for public drunkeness. (And we're Irish.)
thenerdieststore
Wow. Never heard of someone requesting a self ban but there is a first for everything!
