hellpop
Funko announced a couple exciting things recently: Dear Funatics: Freddy Funko has been a busy be lately. We announced our Re-Action line of Alien figures which should be shipping from Funko’s warehouses in the next 2-3 weeks! We also dropped some hints on some pretty cool licenses like Firefly, Universal Monsters, Back to the Future, Goonies, Terminator 1 & 2, Predator, The Rocketeer, Nightmare B4 Christmas, Escape from New York, Pulp Fiction, Buffy the Vampire Slayer(TV), Star Trek Classic and many many more. But what you don’t know is that Funko is also announcing a 6″ Premium line called Legacy that will be revealed at Toy Fair NYC with 2 Major license announcements and a few cult classics as well. I mean 2 MAJOR license announcements! This line will be very much similar in style and accuracy and points of articulation as the Hasbro 6″ Black Series of Star Wars. Some fun eclectic lines will be produced as well like my personal favorite Fantastic Mr Fox! So keep an eyed peeled for our announcements soon..as you this section of the Funko Funatic Forum to discuss the two new action figure series! Brian If they are able to fulfill my longtime dream of having a 6", highly detailed, articulated Rocketeer, well... I'll have a longtime dream fulfilled! Lobsterman
What the hell kind of black magic does Funko deal in to get all of these licenses?
MiniFiend UK
I'm going with shady photographers and incriminating pictures.
TENIME_art
If they do a Star Wars Black-style Captain Malcolm Reynolds, I am DEFINITELY buying the Han Solo, then. Team-up!!
stack32
I can't get too excited about this until I see actual product. Funko's quality control is not good.
TENIME_art
Other than messy paint, what issues have they had? The only things I've ever bought from them are the Pop figures...
stack32
Paint on POPs is mostly what I meant, but I have seen excess glue dripped on figures and scuffs and dents. Mostly the problem is the degree of issues that they let go. I'm pretty sure workers at the factory Funko uses have never thrown a POP away because it looked too bad. But maybe some of the other products are better.
TENIME_art
The only issue I've come across paintwise is fuzzy eyes (where the face bled onto them), but since they're all black, it's an easy enough fix. Not that we should have to, but I'll take fixable over unfixable any day.
battlecat
I've definitely seen worse than messy eyes on POPs. Funko made My Little Pony vinyl figures that were pretty crap too, like sloppy/inaccurate paint and cheap plastic with lots of scuffs, visible seams, even chunks missing. And things like that and POPs are such basic designs, so it's hard to imagine them doing any better with more complex figures, but who knows. UK Collector
Looks like Game of Thrones will be first up. http://io9.com/winter-is-coming-and-so-are-game-of-thrones-action-fig-1473159615
hellpop
I will be hard pressed to resist GoT action figures.
TENIME_art
GDit. Never enough monies. *sigh* Also, top 5: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=2822&category=8939 Not sure how articulated they are. They just look like typical McFarlane "diorama figures/plastic statues".
hellpop
Yes, I believe those are just statues, made by Dark Horse.
hellpop
Not only are GoT figures the first in the line, but apparently they are already out at Barnes and Noble! http://thefwoosh.com/2014/02/funko-to-launch-game-of-thrones-legacy-collection Some quick pics:
Twisted Two-Face
Just got back from an out-of-ways B&N, and managed to find the last Ned and Dany. Fortunately, playing around with them, they don't have the QC issues i've seen at Fwoosh or Funko. However... Ned has a backwards upper right arm. I really want to count myself lucky that nothing was broken, but Goooood that just irritates me so much; it just "looks wrong," ya know? Fortunately its minor and can be hidden with a pose, but i still know it's there. I'll exchange him if my on-campus store gets them. But barring that i'm really happy with them. For Funko's first 6 inch offering, they're really incredible. If Dany doesn't have any issues breakage-wise, she's got some of the best articulation i've seen on a female figure; torso joint has an insane amount of range. Her head does too; the hair is soft and doesn't hinder the peg at all. There's a plug on her shoulder for the dragon which is a little unsightly, but he looks too good pegged there to leave it open anyway. Ned's okay. Paint is a little sloppy around the beard, but the entire sculpt is just fantastic. His wrists were very tight, and with the hinge i was worried about shearing the peg, but it worked out. Torso doesn't move much. I really like him, but i can't help but feel like that arm is ruining it for me. Such a minor thing but it's...just...there. So yea, these are pretty great. If i can find Tyrion he's a definite buy, and the others i'll wait until after the 30-day exclusivity to see if they get cheaper. REALLY hyped for Jaime in wave 2. But i want all of his looks, so one just won't cut it; torn over whether i'd rather have Kingsguard armor, Lannister armor, or his dressed-down leather look from when he fights Ned, that he seems to be wearing in Season 4. Guess we'll find out this weekend!
TENIME_art
Can you detach it (the "boil & pop" method?) and stick it back on the right way? Also, what were the prices? I got the Dark Horse plastic statues from BBTS the other day. They're pretty awesome looking, but they are plastic statues. Just like McFarlane's. Twisted Two-Face
Whoops, i dunno why i said "backwards." I meant he has two left upper arms. Fortunately another in the area has them (and Jon and a Walker), so if i can out there by Saturday, weather permitting, they'll hold them. They were both $19.95. Dany online is $17, but they won't match their own online price which is severely aggravating.
hellpop
They won't match THEIR OWN online pricing? That's nuts. I am probably going to pass on these... my wife is the big GoT fan in our house, and she has no interest in them. I dunno, I might feel differently having them in hand. I would imagine that, if they are $20 at B&N, they will be a few dollars cheaper elsewhere.
VulcansFury
I just hope they do one-offs instead of needing an entire wave for 6inch (similar to their 4in retros), because I need that Rocketeer in 6inch! I love how their retros are available individually not in sets because I ordered 2 Rocketeers so I can keep one carded. I wouldnt have done that if he was sold in a set. TENIME_art
Most stores won't match their own online pricing for two reasons: 1. The sites aren't always run by the same company. 2. It ends up being more expensive after shipping anyways. Though I totally got Toys'R'Us to match Walmart's online prices when I got the last two Hobbit Lego sets... hellpop
It's official! Just announced on Fwoosh: http://thefwoosh.com/2014/02/funko-legacy-rocketeer-movie-figures Oh, and Firefly too.

Twisted Two-Face
Well it took 2 weeks, but Jon Snow's arm just sheered off his peg. There was NOTHING wrong with this figure, so i'm a little confused, but i'm more pissed that Barnes and Noble has a 2-week return policy and now i'm screwed. That's lovely. Honestly shocked it was Jon and not Dany, he has much thicker elbow pegs and they were moving fine. Ugh.
