Ant-Man Minimates

With the reveal of Marvel Selects Ant Man figure, its safe to say we're gonna be seeing Ant Man mates sometime soon. So,predictions? Ideas?

Ant-Man/ Ant army builder

Scott Lang/ Hope Van Dyne

Darren Cross/ 60's Hank Pym

Yellow Jacket/Hank Pym

But what I most hope for are sculpted bug bases,so it looks like the mates are being surrounded by Ants.

Give me a boxset and I'd be happy. (Antman, Yellowjacket, Pym, Lang and mini-antman as an accessory)

Anything else and it's just another civilian heavy, boring wave with variants like Battle Damaged Ant-Man.

This is more or less exactly what I dislike about virtually every movie wave.

Seems like more often than not we get the hero, the villain, and 4 or 5 civilians. And half the time what's worse is there usually seems to be some large, digital effects heavy villain (or two) left out, who would have seemed like a no-brainer, but for the explanation there usually wasn't reference available of him early enough into development of the wave.

The only movies that actually seem to have enough good characters to fill out a wave are ensemble ones like Avengers or X-Men... and the X-Men movies, which could usually USE two waves, typically only get one, leaving them feeling incomplete.

Thor probably could have filled out a wave with Asgardians, but some sort of behind the scenes mumbo-jumbo always seems to muck it up, so we get more figures we didn't want than the ones we did (we all know the woes of the Warriors Three...)

I feel like Diamond is aware of these gripes, and has tried to course correct them over the years though. And I recognized that. But sometimes there's only so much they can do. So we still sometimes get a less than ideal movie lineup. *Shrug*

Anyway, the only two I NEED are Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. I'd take Pym and Lang, but could live without them. I'd hope Pym has a costume of his own, and if so I'd want it, but as far as I know, nothing has been revealed about one. Unless she's in a surprise Wasp costume, I really have no need at all for Hope.

I took that as Zach clarifying a comment rather than confirming any particular plan for release. Not saying it isn't entirely possible, just not sure why so many automatically assume this movie wouldn't get a wave when DST has consistently offered them for others and Marvel is giving the movie a big push.

I am actually surprised by the lack of interest im hearing on here, everywhere else seems to be the exact opposite, the trailer to me was very on par with when the first Ironman was announced, the film seems to be in a very similar vein, visually and tone wise.

I hope we get a full wave but not getting that suit and the Yellowjacket armor at least would be a travesty

If we got a Ant-Man and Yellowjacket two pack I'd buy it. I think my indifference is because Edgar Wright deserved better than he got, and I think the only way to make Ant-Man work is if you have a director with a vision, like James Gunn had for Guardians of the Galaxy. They had that, and they let him go. I'm skeptical a work for hire director can make a character this tricky work.

Well I think if any director takes on an MCU movie they would need to concede that that won't have complete control over it because it's part of something bigger. Maybe he wouldnt play ball with the tweaks Feige wanted to make it jive with the master plan. Given Feige's track record, I'm siding with his grand vision over any single director's.

I for one am pumped for the new movie and would love to see a full wave of mates as I'm a sucker for MCU minimates.

I agree for a director coming in now, but Wright was working on the project for years, they were talking about it after the first Iron Man, he worked on the script and the casting, and then when they're about to start suddenly they aren't on board with his vision? How many years were they working on that very vision before it's suddenly a problem?

I agree; the trailer actually has me interested in Ant-Man for the first time ever. I've never really cared for the character, especially out of costume, and this would be the first solo story I would want to see.
