dj87
I was perhaps thinking the Galactus price may seem to come down with the release of the Heralds set, with a lot of people thinking, 'well, I've got a 2" version now, I could really cash in with the Maximate version!' a few going up on ebay at the same time = lower price? its just a theory
karamazov80
I would actually expect his value to go up, even if a new handful appear on eBay, because folks are gonna want the big boy to pose with his mini heralds.
Gillbob316
I got mine both from Wizard World Chicago for $50 each. Different years. Galactus first, then the Sentinel. One of those booths that has a zillion misc statues strewn about, all with little post-it notes slapped on them for prices.
MiniFiend UK
Just my 2p's worth I dont expect the price on Galactus to change because of the Heralds Boxset. My thinking being is having Terrax etc to show with him would be cool as such but The release of loads of X-men to fight with the Sentinel don't seem to have effected his price. So I can see the same thing with Galactus.
ImABarRoomHero
Well, just picked one up on eBay for about $
WarOnTheShore
I really want the Galactus one! Anyone?
ImABarRoomHero
Just got mine in. Ugh my envy can finally rest. This thing is cooler than I originally thought.
The Geohound
Got my Galactus for free. Birthday gift from a friend, but he told me it had been sitting on a shelf ina comic book store where he lived for a few years. He paid $35 for it before tax. Said they had a Sentinel too, might still be there, but he moved so not much chance of me finding ut.
velvet
i'm willing to sell my galactus maxi-mate for $60 shipped (US addresses only, sorry) to anyone who is interested...
ImABarRoomHero
Pm sent
elmeaux
Well they are only 499 statues in existence of each, and they are a must for collectors. I would say 120 max and anythin above is if ur desperate. Back when I ordered Galactus, it came to me broken so I sent it back for another. So that's probably 498. youbastards
Back when I ordered Galactus, it came to me broken so I sent it back for another. So that's probably 498. I have 2 broken Galacti on my desk, and there is the one that Luke customized, so let's bring it down to 495.
buttheadsmate
I sold a broken one a while back .....494.
luke314pi
If I ever saw a broken Galactus for cheap, I would turn it into a minimate diorama from the scene in the first Marvel Zombies when they are all eating him, and blue energy is shooting out all over the place. Punisher
Ha, I want to do the same. But my diorama with torn apart Silver Surfer will suffice!
emills01
New guy here - I've never seen the Galactus figure. What is fragile about it? Which part(s) tend to break most often? Is it not worth the risk to buy it and have it sent in the mail?
buttheadsmate
On each side of his head is some sort of antenna/whatever & these are vulnerable. If you buy one insist that it is sent in its original polystyrene protective inner packaging & its original box & have the sender pack this in a decent cardboard box. Sent in this manner it will arrive safely ....if not you'll have problems. Neither Galactus or Sentinel is durable...in fact they are hopelessly delicate. Mirymate
As much as I'd like to have these on my shelf, and a part of me really wants them despite all their problems, what I find myself thinking everytime this topic pops up is that I wish DST could wrangle permission to try this size figure again from Marvel. Only this time, in roto-cast plastic instead of ceramic. Ah well.
emills01
Wait - it's ceramic?
Mystery Man
Yep. Ceramic. A thing of beauty that doesn't move and can break pretty easily if you're not careful. That's why I've passed on this and the Sentinel a number of times, even though I've REALLY wanted to get them ever since they were first released. emills01
Yikes. I'm going to a con next month and was going to look for this but I think will pass. Thanks for the info.
buttheadsmate
Sorry guys ....Medicom again.....kubricks do a range of BIG kubricks & when I got my first(Spider-Man) it was one of the biggest disappointments of my toy-collecting ...er...career (?) They are articulated but they're hollow & I hadn't realised or expected that they wouldn't be solid
Rheul
I love my Galactus.
Hawkeye's Junk
i also passed when they were released due to the ceramic an not being poseable. Now I really want them for display purposes. Things change when you buy a house and room for things
ImABarRoomHero
Resin, not ceramic.
