Wow, if you take out redundant guesses, that narrows it down to:

Thundercats

Pirates of the Caribbean

Dr Who

Highlander

Star Wars

DC

Tick

Indiana Jones

Tron

Stargate

Image Comics

Hobbit

Mass Effect

Disney

Men In Black

Walking Dead

Vampire Diaries

GI Joe

Transformers

James Bond

Capcom

Mortal Kombat

Masters of the Universe

World of Warcraft

Voltron

A-Team

True Blood

Glee (because NorthRaider is naughty)

MLB

Beetlejuice

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Simpsons

Hellboy

NHL

Real Steel

TMNT

Invincible

Cowboys vs Aliens

Horror Movies

Goonies

So one of those 40 guesses will be Minimates. I think there's a few that really stand out on that list and I think most of them would be a huge thing.

EDIT: I want to say this first or my guess doesn't make sense.

Groundhog... i was going to ask how come The Goonies wasn't in your post.

But after checking the comments myself, i can see more comments on my iPhone than i can see on my PC... what gives?

Or do you just count The Goonies as a redundant guess?

EDIT AGAIN: Just checked it out. On my PC, it doesn't show comments made in Feb, only upto 31st Jan.

The extra guesses in Feb are...

Pirates of the Caribbean

Cowboys vs. ALiens

New Line Horror: Friday the 13th/Nightmare on Elm Street/ Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The Goonies

I'm feeling something for The Goonies.

Enough characters to drag it out for a while, but not to little so the licence runs it's course too quickly.

And the variety of potential great/interesting looking figures mixed with the plainer figures (easy/cheap to make), i can see this making good business sense.

Because of the success of Ghost Busters, i think DST will be looking for something similar and to me, this strikes the same chords as Ghost Busters.

Would people buy these by the bucket load...? Would you have though so many people would buy Ghost Busters before they were released?

Cool and nostalgia is why Ghost Busters was a success, The Goonies fits that too!

And who wouldn't want a 2 inch One Eyed Willy to play with?

Hey GH, that's supposed to be the NHL "Guardian Project", not just the NHL. I'm telling you (no matter how lame the concept and comics for that matter are), it's a real contender based off of looks alone.

If you are right Twisted & I'm leaning towards the fact that you might be ....then it would be a huge licence.....

......a 'Licence to Kill'

Seems like the year for T-cats. That's where my money is.

And who wouldn't want a 2 inch One Eyed Willy to play with?

Ah.... ah... really? You're really just going to leave that one out there? On this board?

This is now a family-friendly forum & many of us have moved on .

Nice catch Pete. So, there's an even 40 choices (which could be 38 since Walking Dead and Invincible are Image Comics). I'm not sure Goonies is big since there's only a small amount of characters that could be made.

And MINI_MYTE, I didn't include the Guardian Project part because I think it's ridiculous and, as such, couldn't bring myself to type it out.

I think Image, James Bond, Thundercats and Hobbit are the most realistic ideas on the list. Most of the other choices are either too obscure/unmarketable or two big for DST to handle. Just throwing my two cents out there.

Pirates, Mortal Kombat, and T-Cats seem most reasonable to me.

Pirates for the fact of Disney/Marvel, AND we haven't seen anything for the Calico Jack, even though they were "announced" at the same time as MAX. Maybe the project will be replaced with Pirates of the Carribean?

Mortal Kombat I could see due to the fact that DST now knows that video games sell due to halo, and the talk of the web show and new game make the license buzz worthy.

Wow - i'm kinda shocked that Tron's odds are at 10,000 - 1.

And Real Steel is at ?

Does that mean it's odds are sooooooooooooooooooo low that that can't be calculated?

to be honest , i don't think it's 'huge' enough yet to validate Chucks comments . . . but i guess we'll find out in a couple of days.

Unless I'm missing it, Jatta, you missed WWE in your compilation of guesses. Thanks for doing that, by the way.

Of all those, I gotta say, the one I would most want is probably Hellboy, because I'll always be a comics guy at heart, and those amazing Hellboy customs some of you guys have done make me really want Hellboy 'mates. But I don't think that's what it will be, and I don't think that would be "huge" anyway.

Well, it's nice to know, though, that all this speculation has actually paid off, and that it probably will turn out to be something cool... unless it is in fact the Guardians project. <_<

another Maddona movie that get's mates....

Don't you raise my hopes like this. It isn't right.

Also, I would love classic WWF Minimates (not the current guys). Yeah, there is a whole aisle at TRU devoted to wrestling, but I don't collect any of those figures. And I do dig my M.U.S.C.L.E. Kubricks.

Honestly I would flip the fuck out, if we got WWE Legends Minimates.

To have a Macho Man Randy Savage minimate would be amazing!

I once, in a fever of enthusiasm/boredom, worked out a WWE Minimates line up to about a dozen waves. You could very easily follow this formula for four packs a wave and virtually never run out: '80's/early '90's (including WCW)/Attitude/current. Mix it up wit some guys from outside the WWE in the '70's and '80's, and it would be....AWESOME!

Hmm......

I could see a LOTR release now that the Hobbit has actually started production. As much as I would love for Doctor Who to be announced, I can't see that happening in light of the "Lego" styled release coming out in the UK. Looking forward to Toy Fair.

Not my list. I just stole groundhog's hard work and added my "odds". WWE wasn't on his list and I don't know if it was in one of the facebook comments or not. If so:

WWE - 30 to 1

To answer the above post, Tron Minimates won't happen as "that ship has passed". The movie got bad reviews and didn't do spectacular at the box office. All in all, Tron is a Disney property, so any likelihood of Tron Minimates comes from DST getting the DST license.
