I thought I'd share some pics of my QC Max mates, and some of the back story behind them. I was a little disappointed with these guys until personalities started poppin out all over the place. If anyone cared to move this, feel free. Not much I can do about it always. M.A.X. Pilots Max Pilots are some of the best in the world. Recruited from the top 1% of all the air forces in the world, the M.A.X. unit features heavily with experienced veterans from the USAF and the IAF. A few of their members have even been known to come from commercial airliners! Cpt. Wilhelm von Strussel The good captain has many years experience with any number of aircraft. It has been said that if it has wings, he can fly it, and if it doesn't, he can land it safely. One of the few to actually pilot the experimental M.A.X. Stealth Tech Jet, he is capable of re-matrixing in flight. The G-forces along would crush a lesser man. Sir, we salute you! Mara Mara fights daily to overcome the stigma of being a woman in an ex-military unit. Years of fighting to be the best have left her hard and bitter. She doesn't make friends, but her skills are unquestionable. Only one crash in her entire career, on the same day her fiance left her for another woman. She managed to land a commercial airplane right in the middle of a summer camp when the pilot suddenly collapsed. No one was hurt except for Mara herself, when a tree branch came through the windshield. The scars she bares in her life are both physical and emotional. Greg Greg doesn't say much. Some aren't even sure he speaks english. He follows orders to a T though, and has proficient skill with firearms and martial arts as well as piloting. Where he learned those, only Greg knows. M.A.X. Special Forces Charlie Charlie is easy going and fun to be around. She is great with kids, and her warm, inviting smile melts even the coldest of hearts, making her the perfect interrogator. So why did Charlie choose a profession that entails fighting people? Simple; Charlie is good at it. She is so good, in fact, that in the 7 years she's been in the M.A.X. Special Forces, she's never once taken a life. The only time her team-mates ever saw her get angry was when her superior officer put her on desk duty because "Combat is no place for a woman." One broken nose later and Charlie was back in the field. Ivan O'Brian Ivan realizes the irony of his name. Descended from a long line of Russian Maffia members and IRA collaborators, people think surely there's nothing good in him. Well, they'd be wrong. A Russian/Afgan War vet, Ivan discovered that his talents lay more in saving lives than taking them. Routinely taking the most violent and dangers jobs M.A.X. has to offer, Ivan constantly seeks to live past his names and legacy, and make his own destiny. M.A.X. SWAT Paul Paul was the best security guard at Hillsdale Mall. He was so good, in fact, that M.A.X. offered his a job. True story. Peter Jace Peter Jace is M.A.X.'s resident sniper. For the longest time he held the world record in distance with a rifle. A surfer by trade, growing up in LA he saw plenty of crime. Peter decided at a young age to do something about it. Applying to ever Law enforcement agency in America, no one would take him. The ATF said he was too nice. What did they know anyways? The ATF was the reject pool for everyone else to begin with. Finally Peter got his break when to took down a bank robber with a pen and a rubber band, saving a M.A.X. operative's life. Oswald Oswald raises bunny rabbits. He goes to work evey day, protecting and serving so that he can go back home to his bunnies. He also had a parrot named Oscar, which he brings to the job sometimes. Oscar has his firearm training certificate. He is a smart bird. M.A.X. Firefighters Alpha Team Hank - Chief (left) Brains - (right) Judas - (left) Simon - (right) The M.A.X. Firefighter program was, like the rest of M.A.X., secretly established in the 1980's. After a particularly vicious string of arson attacks, it was decided that crime fighting firefighters were needed. Alpha Team quickly proved their merit. Rising through the ranks, they established themselves at the go-to guys. But for some, it wasn't enough. Judas hated being a secret organization. He hated never getting recognition for his efforts. he let others know about it too. He began drinking, and acting out, setting small scale fires just to see if anyone would notice or care. No one did. Spreading deceit and lies, he finally made his move in the late 90's, and switched sides. The scene was a five alarm warehouse fire down on the wharf. Alpha Team was called to the scene. Under Hank's heroic leadership, the went rushing in. Judas ensured that no one would be rushing out. Brains had enginered the perfect fire. Simon went along with it. In the raging inferno the three confronted Hank. They were leaving, joining M.A.X.'s shadowy nemmisis, and they wanted Hank to come with them. He refused, obviously. A burning timber cracked and landed on hank, breaking his legs and trapping him. Judas and the others left him for dead. Simon looked back, guilt ridden. What had he done? But it was too late now, and if he chickened out, he would meet the same fate. he followed the others to their new lives. But the story of Alpha Team does no end there, No. Because as the fire raged out of control, the was someone else on the scene. Bravo Team Duke aka Chief - Chief (right) Rookie - left Sam - left Lester - right Lester was on Alpha team when it was formed, but went into semi-retirement when Hank took over, spending his days training new recruits. He knew there was a problem, so he and Duke arrived on the scene, and saved Hank just in time. Hank would never fight fires again, so he turned the ace firefighting mantel over to Bravo Team's leader, Duke. The first thing they needed was a team, one man wouldn't cut it. Lester came out of retirement; Hank stayed on as an adviser, picking up Lester's slack as a trainer. They still left two spots to fill, and they found them quickly enough. Sam was a first year M.A.X. veteran. Still new enough to be eager, but having seen enough action to know when to be serious. She took to Bravo Team straight off. Their chemistry was great, and it was just to sort of edgy vs relaxed, break-out-on-your-own vs living-with-the-shadows-of-the-past sort of place she'd been looking for when she dropped out of art school. She thought everything was perfect until the new guy showed up. The Rookie was living everyone's dream. The lucky applicant to his local fire station somehow had his Lester rerouted to M.A.X. HQ. They accepted him, sight unseen. His first day at work was viscous and dirty. The fire house was a geek's dream, with electronic equipment everywhere. It was tough to fit in though. He was one of the youngest members in the organization's history, and that hung over him. Sam didn't like him at all, belittling him every chance she got. At least she'd yet to see his forlorn sideways glances. Lester liked Sam though, and took the boy under his wing, showing him the ropes. With the team complete, Bravo Team was finally ready for action. It was tough going, and they are constantly one step behind Judas' treachery and Brain's plans. With every life they save though, it is one more path to redemption for M.A.X., and with every day passed, it is one step closer to a new and brighter future, for all of man kind. Peace. Honor. Some have back stories, some are fodder and often change pieces. first up is my "first response unit." Panicked Patsy and Peeing Himself Peter. These poor mates are always on the shelf when say the Skrulls attack, or the Son of Satan bursts into action. Next we have the Police force. and the clean up squad. Have a Skrull infestation? Vampires got you down? These are the guys to call. These are regular civilians. Bankers, writers, thugs, mobster, failing musicians. This is a special projects group. It sorta looks like Lee Adama's Angels. They often are called in by the police force to investigate special cases (skrull invasions, vampires, mutants, rogue crappy mates). Cal Rupert (left) Expert marksman as well as pilot, this wilderness survival guide once spent a week in the deserts of the middle east when his plan was shot down. Disgruntled with the governments of the world, Cal joined M.A.X. as a last ditch effort to change things. He is also Mara's ex-husband, which make for strained relations in the ready room. Their relationship ended with a bang. Literally. Gabriel (right) Gabriel is Cal's best friend, and was brought into M.A.X. upon his recommendation. Classified as little more than a thug his entire life, Gabriel suddenly had means and notice to make his mark on the world. Splitting from M.A.X., he worked shortly for their evil sister organization before deciding that wasn't for him. Instead he became a sky pirate, picking at both sides and double dealing information under the table. I don't like the way they look with all the SWAT gear, but the armor looks cool with the cap and you can't tell there isn't a tampo on the chest.
