youbastards
LOL, thanks guys! I had fun with this, if DST is going to get a little creative with the license (Mecha Hulk, Phonix-Killer Deadpool) then I figured I could too! Maybe this could be the theme of the next custom contest: Create your own "Buster"!

UK Collector
I saw the title, and my mind started to imagine what this figure would be, and I have to say you knocked my expectations out of the park. That really is brilliant.

youbastards
Well, it has been a while since I updated this thread. I've posted a few tweaks/customs in various other threads over the last year, so I need to compile them all here. Here is my "deluxe" take on Starlord. This is a variation on the one I made for Lobsterman for the 2014 Secret Santa. Starlord DX has a modified headphones with rare earth magnets that can attach to magnets inserted into the helmet. Magnets were also inserted into the thighs and pistols to allow them to attach. The Jacket is from Wave 26 Wolverine (Origins), and as far as I know that is the only time that Jacket mold has been used. I also carved out the backpack from the official release. The "orb" is a silver rose bead from Michael's. The chest, belt, and arm badge decals were made by me, the modified Pratt face decal is Luke's. Thanks for looking! Nervous Rex
Great stuff YB, love the use of the magnets, been wanting to incorporate that in my customs for awhile now.
youbastards
Thanks, they are fun to work with. The handdrill set I have is perfect for one of the sizes I'm using, so I can just drill a small hole in the Minimate plastic and glue the magnet in place. I've been getting mine from K&J Magnetics, they have all kinds of sizes available: http://www.kjmagnetics.com/products.asp?cat=

youbastards
Thanks guys!ALIEN RipleyI wasn't happy with the final hair that was released on 1979 Ripley, and none of the other existing pieces really worked for me, so I sculpted one up. I also gave the flamethrower a strap and painted the orange band around Ripley's dual-faced watch. The head is Dana Barrett from the Ghostbusters "We're Ready to Believe You!" boxset. Escape from New York Snake PlisskenWeapons are from the Funko Reaction Plissken figure.Thunderstrike's jacket has been modified to accommodate hairpiece.Rick Grimes head, with the eyepatch painted on.Hairpiece is from Wolverine Origins Gambit. The rest is from the parts bin.
