Punisher
awesome crossbones! the hank pym is a quick, easy, and awesome recipe also. i plan on buying some decals soon, since the MMHQ "gift" will help me a great deal making 2.5 'mates. luke314pi
Thanks guys! I am always interested to see which characters people get excited about. Rachel got more love than I was expecting, and some characters I have shown in the past get no love at all, like poor Darkhawk.
TENIME_art
Darkhawk sucks!! Kidding! I hope you'll be doing a decal tute on the 'Factory soon?
MINI_MYTE
Amazing job on the Asgard minimates. I especially love your work on the Warriors Three. Keep it up man!
luke314pi
I finally got around to doing some more Nintendo minimates with the help of the mighty waterslide decal: Mario and Luigi The hats are modified from M.Bison. The faces and chests are decals. I shortened Mario using my belt sander. I have already started on Wario and Waluigi. I am just waiting for more M.Bison mates to come in the mail. I have also started on Princess Zelda, Peach, and Daisy. And here are a few new Marvel mates: Count Nefaria: Hellcat: 1st Appearance Wonder Man: The decals for Mario, Luigi, and Wonder Man will be part of the free decal packs I will be posting on the Factory next week! luke314pi
Thanks! Her mask is modified from Wildcat's mask, and I can't remember where the sash is from. It was floating around in my parts bin. Edited November 30, 2008 by luke314pi
karamazov80
Great customs as usual, Luke. My nephew (who is now into Minimates, of course) is a Mario fiend. I'm going to have to try out those decals once you post them. Could the sash have been from Ronin?
luke314pi
Could the sash have been from Ronin? I think you're right. It was originally yellow.
luke314pi
Here is a quick fix for the new Kraven mate. His chest underneath the chest piece has his bare chest tampo printed on, so I cut out that part of the chest piece and painted the sides where I cut. I think he looks much better this way:
Twisted Two-Face
Definitely. I was actually wondering why they didn't do that, especially since there was print underneath. Looks nice.
Trekker 42
Definitely. I was actually wondering why they didn't do that, especially since there was print underneath. Looks nice. The easiest explanation I can see is that it's a reuse The same piece is on Transformation Venom and on both Powerhouses: Sandman and Thing. (Ivan, I hope you don't mind that I used the Database here.) So that pretty much explains why he's a full overchest instead of a seperate piece. There was probably not enough money to do a lion jacket and make it a new piece. None of the jackets we have (NXM Wolverine ect.) really fit the Kraven look. Check the database of you don't believe me. DST's thing was the best economical solution out there.
Twisted Two-Face
True. But we can still hope. Hell, hoping did get us not just a Deadpool, but a Gambit AND a Psylocke. Besides that, if it weren't for the actual paint detailing, these are suprisingly simple mates. Simple and excellent; i like where AA and DST are taking us. MINI_MYTE
OMG! Why didn't I think of that for Kraven's vest. Thanks Luke, I'm gonna make the necessary modification with a spare chest piece I have.
MiniFiend UK
Liking all the new customs I had seen the decals on the site but not any finished customs. Good stuff.
luke314pi
Thanks guys! I am hoping to release a third decal sheet soon.
luke314pi
Here are a few new customs. Most of the decals used on these are either available now, or will be available on Decal Pack #3, which should be posted at the end of this month. First up is an addition to my horror collection: Michael Myers Now Jason and Freddy will have another person to brawl with (Looking at them now, I'm thinking Freddy needs a new decal face soon to replace his old one). The knife is from Bullseye, and I can't remember who the hairpiece is from. Waluigi and Wario The hats are modified from Bison, just like with Mario and Luigi, posted above. Wario was shortened on my belt sander. Hellfire Club My camera was out of batteries, but I was able to snap one picture of this set before it died. Normally I would take dozens of pictures while moving the light source, so I wouldn't get that glare on the minimates, but it was unavoidable here. From left to right they are Donald Pierce, Sebastian Shaw, Jean Grey as the Black Queen, and Jason Wyngarde (Mastermind). There have been many other members of the Hellfire Club, but I wanted to focus on these four. I will also be making some goons. I am just waiting for more parts to arrive in the mail. The men's coats are modified from New X-Men Jean Grey coats. The Black Queen is a repainted Emma Frost with repainted Pepper Pots hair. Shaw's hair is a modified Wolverine hairpiece to give him his trademark sideburns. I can't recall where the other hairpieces came from. MiniFiend UK
Movie Captian Kirk Aha, I thought it looked cocky. Wasnt the original mask a painted kirk mask? If it was the hairpiece seems quite appropriate.
