I got lbp a couple days ago and ive been loving it!The customazation is great, and the levels online are great! The olny bad part I the selfish ppl online that make you die and then they got the rewards

If I'm not mistaken, you should be getting the prizes too (assuming you have that option turned on in your profile options), even if you aren't the one picking them up. You don't get the score for the scoreboard at the end, but you do get the prizes from the prize bubbles.

As far as the people online killing you, just play with different players.

Oh ok Thanks!I like prizes :D

And ill add u robomate.

Any DLC you guys reccomend?I got the Pirates of the carribean level dlc and the incredibles costume pack, and I bought the game of the year so i have the history level{156 PRIZES AND THEY REQUIRE LITTLE TO NO SKILL=AWESOME!}It also has the monster outfit pack with the monster train and the metal gear solid pack.

And last but not least,If I make A level with the metal gear solid backround and water from the pirates of the carribean pack,Will people without that dlc see it?Cuz I notice something popping up in some levels saying you do not have {certain dlc} and has allot of text, but I can not read it in the like 3 seconds it gives you to read it.

they can stil see and enjoy every aspect of your level they just cant collect(and use) any items that have an element of the dlc in them. also recomended dlc would be the marvel costumes are really fun the level kit is sort of a waste and the animal packs are fun

KK,Thanks!Ima get the pack with Ghost rider, thor, electra, spiderman and human torch.

And pick up hulk and green goblin indivudually{I needs the hulk for my gamma radiation rollercoaster}

  • 2 weeks later...

So I'm back to talk more about games which means I'll be stoned again.

Today's topic?

Scott Pilgrim's game doesn't live up to the hype.

Before I die, hear me out: I LOVE this game. That said, most of the people pumping it up had played it on PS3. I, on the other hand decided to wait 2 weeks for the 360 so I could play online with friends on XBL. After playing Castle Crashers I had very high expectations for this game. I thought brawlers were dead until Castle Crashers revolutionized the genre over a year ago. Then I played Scott Pilgrim, and to my disappointment didn't make as a good a game as Castle Crashers.

Don't get me wrong, it's great... But clearly awesome on the PS3 is not the same on 360.

Luckily for you PS3 exclusive folks out there, Castle Crashers will be landing this fall on PS3 aswell. Until then, play Scott Pilgrim to your heart's content.

Those are my angry eyes!

I actually agree with you Nestle (shocker, I Know). While Scott Pilgrim is one of the best games on the PSN, it doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Castle Crashers or even the Classic TMNT Arcade game. You are correct when saying Awesome on the PS3 is not the same as the 360. This has had to be my biggest issue with going PS3 exclusive. The Xbox Live Arcade is night and day better in every capacity to the PSN. Castle Crashers, Shadow Complex, Splosion Man, Worms 2, Trials HD, Limbo, and Toy Soliders are some of the best downloadable games every.......and I would say Shadow Complex is one of the best games of this generation period! MS really knows how to push the downloadable market, and when I had my Xbox I would say at least 70% of my times was spent on Arcade titles.

Now, that being said, I think Sony is finally getting the point. They have brought over games like Braid and now Castle Crashers. We are also getting Lara Croft and we got Scott Pilgrim first. So the PSN is coming around. To it's credit, the PSN has several very solid exclusives such as Super Stardust HD, Joe Danger, The Last Man, and the PixelJunk Games. But they still have a long time to go.

So, I say play Scott Pilgrim because it is a very good game, but if you are PS3 exclusive, you need to pick up Castle Crashers today........a year later it's still one of the best downloadable games on the market!

And finally, to close I've spent most of my time lately playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Madden. I finally beat Star Wars over the weekend. I skipped the game the first time and now I can't believe that I did. That game was really good and I loved the story. It has gotten me back into Star Wars mode which I had been out of for quite some time. In fact yesterday I started watching the original trilogy again with my Daughter......Good times! As for Madden, I still love it. It's football and if you are not a football and madden fan you can't understand, but every year I still get a kick out of playing some football (no pun intended!). And, in retrospect to Nestle, I've actually not played Scott Pilgrim in several days. I played so much when it came out that I kinda burned out quick. I'm sure I'll get back into it, but with Castle Crashers coming it may be a while!

Yeah, I really didn't mean any insult in what I said about SPvsTW. It reeally is a good game... But if you liked it at all, try Castle Crashers, it'll blow your mind.

Yeah, that "Pooping Deer" blew my mind!

Due to finally being in college, I get to do a lot more multiplayer and what better game for it than the classic? And by the classic, I mean GoldenEye. There's one guy on my hall who is quite terrible at it. I had the flag on The Living Daylights mode and ran, ninja like, through the level for 10 minutes straight using, of all people, Jaws. Yes, THE most conspicuous sprite in the game and ninja'd my way through the level around him. Fantastic session. Total curb stomp. Freakin hilarious.

Ah, Goldeneye.....how I miss those college dorm all nighters!!

Anyway, I picked up Ultimate Spider-Man Total Mayhem yesterday on the App Store. IT IS AMAZING!! Comic inspired Cut Scenes with full Voice Acting. Action is fluid and the game looks beautiful! It's linear, no open world for the iPhone, but you can still swing around the stage. I think there are 12 levels in all, probably won't take more for several hours to beat, but I am loving every bit of it. There are tons of hidden items, like over 100 comic covers to collect. Plus you can upgrade in minor RPG fashion. It is clearly the best Action game on the iPhone I've ever played. If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch you should look at it. It's $7, but work more than some of the recent games I've dropped $50 or $60 on.

Wrapped up GOW the other night and killed General RAAM on hardcore. Debating on if I'm going to play the game again on Insane or start playing something else. With Reach being a couple of weeks out, might play a little Halo to bone up on my skills. Not that I play worth a shit anyway

I just finished Mafia 2. I enjoy the option of being able to explore an open world but not really needing to. All of the collectibles are only in the area that the current chapter takes you, not needing to explore aside from the missions & tasks if they require.

The story was great, it is now my favorite gangster story, beating out Casino.

The dialog is spot on, including ll of the racial slurs that are thrown around.

8/10

Well my PS3 stopped reading discs a couple days ago so, which I have come to find out is a common problem among the older (aka "fat") models so I went and bought a PS3 slim. I am relieved that you can transfer all of your data to the new one. On a related note do any of the PS3 users here have NCAA 2011 and want to play online and possibly start an online dynasty?

I don't have NCAA, but if you play Madden I'm an avid player!

I am actually really looking forward to the Playstation Move. It drops a week from Sunday. I already have it reserved. It comes with Sports Champions and I'm going to pick up Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest and possibly Eyepet. I will give all you guys my impressions in a couple weeks.

In the meantime, I came into some PSN Money and have been exploring the store. I picked up Castle Crashers first. While I played a bit of it on XBLA I never beat it, so I'm going to play again. It's been said on here previously and I will echo Nestle again, Scott Pilgrim is good......but Castle Crashers is SO much better! I really love this game. I also downloaded Deathspank. Again, if anyone on here reads my posts you will know that I'm a huge advocate for the Arcade titles. I skipped Deathspank a few weeks ago mainly because of money. Going back though I'm glad I picked it up. It's actually a really fun, customizable loot drop experience that I'm enjoying. The best part though is the writing......."I once danced with the devil in the pale moon light.......and he has one h*ll of a Lambada". Anyway, I'm having a blast with it.

Also, there are several Arcade titles coming up that I'm really looking forward too as well. Worms 2 comes to PSN next week. In two weeks we are getting Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (with Online!). In October they are releasing Costume Quest. And, by the end of the year, Exsplodemon, Back to the Future, Sonic 4, and hopefully Mega Man Universe! Good times on the Arcade Front. With those games, Move, and Mass Effect 2 in Feb, it's going to be a busy holiday! neo

Seriously, I will get around to play Reach at some point, but this game is more Hyped than anything I've ever seen.....and it's already burned me out. I will not play this at all this year for that reason......let it breath people! I went to GameStop yesterday at around 1:30pm (I'm looking for a used copy of Shattered Dimisions) and there was a kid IN LINE to pick up his RESERVE at midnight. You already paid for the game, you will have a copy, all you have to do is walk in at 12:01am and pick it up.......and this dude is going to sit in a line for 11 hours just to pick up his reserve..........wow! neo

Geez Neo, who's pissed in your corn flakes lately. Your getting as cranky as us old timers  Being in the middle of the Nexus myself, I can understand where you are coming from. It was hilarious watching the news this morning and seeing some of reporters clearly out of their depth when it came to reporting :P I'll most likely pick mine up next week. I could have gotten up and went down the street to a local store for their Halo Party, but decided against it. That being said, I can remember standing in line for the Phantom Menace figure back when my wife and I were dating. So I can't fault folks for getting excited about something.

I've stood in line before. I was in line to get tickets for Phantom Menance's first screening (of course, after seeing episode 1 I didn't wait in line for the other two ;) ). I was in line as well to get an extra Xbox 360 and Wii to resell (I reserved both of mine). I also waited in line for my iPhone 3. But the thing I was getting at is, all of my lines were first come first serve. This dude had Reach RESERVED! It wasn't going anywhere. Whether he stayed there or walked in a day later he would have his copy waiting for him. Sitting in line for 10 hours serves him no purpose..........

Anyway, Worms Armegeddon 2 came to PSN yesterday. One of my favorite games of all time. Worms 2 is the best of the franchise that I've ever played. It also adds trophies and Playstation centric helmets (Helgasts, Lemmings, Sackboy, etc). I played several single player missions last night and I can't wait to get some more time on it this week.

Of course, that will all be leading up to Playstation Move this Sunday. I'm actually really excited, let's hope I stay that way :). neo

Well, I spent most of my afternoon with the new Playstation Move. I picked up the Sports Champion Bundle, Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, an Extra Move Controller, and a Navigation Controller.

I started with Sports Champions. It is much like what you'd expect, an HD version of Wii Sports. While there are a few games that are stand outs, the majority of the set is just OK at best. Archery and Bocce Ball are by far the best the game has to offer.

From there I played some of the Lord of the Rings game. I have mixed reations....at this point. I'm still very early in the game but was still hoping for more. Well, let's back up, the game is actually pretty cool. You have full quests and side quests to playthrough. I love the art style, and it's Lord of the Rings....how can you not love it?!? My main issue is the controls do not appear to be 1:1. I was expecting something akin to The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword where your sword hand is 1:1 to the motion controller. However, so far, it's more akin to The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, where you can swipe side to side or up and down and it will register, but not 1:1. At the end of the day though, just the fact that I'm even comparing the game to any Zelda game is good news. Like I said, I'm still very early so I'm not ready to make any concrete statements!

Finally, the bundle comes with a Demo disc. There are about 8 Demos, I've only played a few. Echochrome II, Time Crisis, a Paint Game, and Tumble. So far they have served the purpose of showing the various uses for the controller, but have not convinced me that any of those games need to be purchased!!

At the end of the day, it's a sweet sorrow kind of victory. The hardward is fantastic and makes the Wii Remote look like a dollar store ripoff. But right now, the games are not justifying the price. Much like the Wii in took several months to start getting killer software, as will be the case here. Better software at release would have made this the Holiday purchase of the year.....but current it's just a quality product "moving" toward a bright future!

neo

P.S. I leave you with my son, who spend most of the afternoon trying to sing into my Move Controller.....

I also got the Move, with the Nav controller and the Sports Champions game. Haven't played all the games yet, or even touched the demo disc, but I agree that the hardware is excellent, but it lacks the killer apps to make this a must have. The ping pong game was a hell of a lot harder than playing Wii Sports Tennis.

They need a Star Wars game to go with this thing. With that orb lighting up on the controller to match your light saber and 1:1 movement, it would be a must have.

Well for those who don't have Reach yet, TRU has a pretty good in store deal. Buy the game get a $20 gift card and t-shirt. I usually get mine from a buddy who works for Microsoft, but decided to do this instead. Haven't played it yet, decided to finish up GOW on insane. Something that surprised me after killing the baddie was that there are still people playing co-op. I played with someone a little less experienced in it than me for a bit. Unfortunately it was already around 2am, so I decided to call it a night :P Still missing 2 cog tags, anyone know a good site that points out the locations of all of them?

Well, I not only found a website and youtube video to point out where my missing Cog tags are. Haven't ventured back to grab them yet, but plan to sometime during the week. Set up my armor, emblem and colors on Reach and was a bit bummed. Apparently the didn't allow or use the previous games avatars for emblems. I'm not sure if these were the most popular or what? I had a pretty sweet one and had to start from ground zero. Went with what looks to be a prophet skull, since it's in all of the previous game. I'm loving the game's visuals, but finding the same problem I had with ODST. I can't really identify with the characters. Which is weird, since I had never played Halo before 3 and still got sucked into his quest to track Cortana down. Definitely looking forward to playing the multi-player though. If it's like the beta, that's probable where you'll find me soon

Alright, I've played a bit more Move so I thought I'd give some more thoughts, for those that care.

Right now I only have Sports Champions and Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest. I'll start with the LOTR game. Let me say that the game itself is a lot of fun. It feels like a watered down version of Zelda set to the Lord of the Rings games. By watered down I just mean it's not as deep as Zelda games tend to be.....at least not yet (I am only about 1/3 of the way in). However, it plays similar. The biggest difference is the lack of puzzles. One thing that has always made Zelda great were the dungeon puzzles. So far, I haven't really had any of those in Aragorn's Quest, most of the game is made up of Fetch Quests and Action Sequences. But, I love the LOTR story and I am having a great time with the game......using a Duelshock 3! Thus the issue, the Move support is rushed and sloppy. It is very laggy and hardly works at times. I stuck with it for a while, but was getting frustrated so switched to the DS3 to try it and it is night and day different. It went from a budget title to a B+ effort by just getting the right controller. So, for any LOTR fans, this is a great game to pick up......but don't play it with the Move, in fact, forget that's an option and you'll be good!

Now, Sports Champion is "killer app" if you will, to showcase the Move's potential. It is really a mixed bag. On the lower half I would put Gladiator Duel and Vollyball. Both games have you stationary which just don't work for the sports. Gladiator Duel is fun, but all you can do is side step and swing. It's a fun experiment with the 1:1 motion, but ultimiatly a weak tech demo. Vollyball is much like WiiSports Tennis in which you wait till the ball is close and then make either a volly or in the right place a spike motion. It works OK, but just isn't that fun. For some reason, even though it's basically the same as WiiSports Tennis, it just isn't as much fun and thus the problem. In the middle of the road I'd put Disc Golf and Pingpong. Disc Golf is pretty fun, but throwing a virtual frisbee with the accuracy needed to hit a pin can be difficult. It's like a mix of WiiSports Golf and WiiSportsResort Frisbee Toss. The difference is throwing a Frisbee to a dog doesn't require perfect accuracy, while Disc Golf does. However, I do feel of all the games, Disc Golf may be the one that you actually get better at with a lot of practice, so we will see. Pingpong is pingpong. It works, pretty good, but you still have the occasional too close/too far distance issue. I would top the list off with Archery and Bocce Ball. Bocce Ball is their answer to WiiSports Bowling. I won't bore you with the rules, but you throw a maker ball, and then try to get your calls close to that marker. The balls closer get awarded points. It's the same type motion as WiiSports Bowling, down to holding the trigger to release the ball. This so far is the only game my Wife has enjoyed and is interested in playing again. Archery, in my opinion, is the cream of the crop! There are a couple of reasons for this. Most notably is the controls, they are accurace and spot on almost every time! You put the controller to your back as if you were taking an arrow out of your quiver. You pull the trigger and aim at the screen, it just feels right. Everywhere I've read said this is better with 2 controllers, but I disagree. I had issues getting the two controllers lined up right each time, where with just one I was splitting arrows in a matter of minutes. The other great thing about Archery is the variety, there are several cool arcery modes, including a cool Tic-Tac-Toe mode and a Tug of War. The good things about Sports Champions are the variety of events and things to do. Each sport has a champtionship mode at a Bronze, Silver, and Gold level, so there is a lot to do. My biggest disappointment with the game is the Avatar selection. A game like this NEEDS a created character. I think most of the appeal of Wii Sports were Miis, and Kinect Games are going to feature Avatars, but Sony has nothing like that. The characters are all cliche type characters: The Toyboy, the Jock, the Hip Hop Guy, The Asian, The Dancer, etc. Somehow allowing your Playstation Home Character to become your Avatar would have not only helped people feel connected to the game more but would have also boosted Home support. Something that Sony let slip through their hands!

Overall I am very happy with the Move. Do I really need it right now? No, there is no game that says you NEED this controller. But I am confident as good as it works there are going to be some killer games released in coming year. If you guys have any Move related questions I will be more than happy to answer them, just let me know!

And, on a final note, I've also sqeezed in a few Franchise games of Madden (The Cowboys and the Jags are doing well on All-Pro mode). I have also spent a lot of time with DeathSpank and I LOVE that game. I also frequent Words with Friends, Chess with Friends, and Words with Pirates. If any of you guys have iPhones and wanna start a match, look me up, it's: neolego!
