Chazwinski
Here's another Legionnaire, Colossal Boy/Leviathan. I always thought he had an iconic costume for a minor character...he looks important. My next design was a labor of love. When I was a kid in the late seventies I had a major crush on Princess Ardala from the TV show, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Pamela Hensley was a real good-looking woman...and she was playing a space princess in a bikini even before Princess Leia! Chazwinski
Neo: Next are three missing Avengers... Tigra: Black Panther: Black Knight: Then come The Matrix twins: Braniac 5: And finally, Rogue as she dressed in the Outback: Edited July 12, 2008 by Chazwinski
Havoc 05
Now that Black Panther... Was cool. He was just so cool looking! The Tigra was great as well. Keep these designs coming! Some other ideas that come to mind are, patton, the warriors, and dirty harry. (Which I guess you could make with the eastwood mates) What about Logan's run? ever hear of that? Chazwinski
Thanks for the compliments. I'm on a business trip so I have no way to upload them now, but I made a bunch of new ones on Sunday. Thursday or Friday I'll upload my new ones. They are: Darth Maul, Vixen, Psylocke, Yellowjacket, Falcon, Black Widow, Poison Ivy, Timber Wolf, Shadow Lass, and Deckard from Blade Runner. Chazwinski
Here's Darth Maul, who was probably the coolest character in The Phantom Menace...Jar Jar sucked. Vixen: I really enjoyed her in JLU. The love triangle between her, John Stewart, & Hawkgirl interested me. I REALLY hope they make Psylocke soon, and with a psiblade accessory! She's right up there with Gambit on my wish list. Sometimes it's best to keep it simple. Yellowjacket's costume is interesting enough that instead of adding a lot of detail, I just wanted kind of a more simple look like with the Wave 1 'mates. With someone like Black Widow, though, who has a simple costume, I feel a lot of detail should be added to keep it from being boring. I was dissapointed in my Falcon. I just didn't put enough effort into making those wings! Poison Ivy: Poor Timber Wolf...I always felt he had the worst luck in the Legion. The others looked down on him and acted like he wasn't very smart, and then Light Lass left him. I felt he wasn't appreciated enough. Here's another Legionairre, Shadow Lass in both her more well known outfits. The first designwas edgier, but I think most fans liked the second (which actually came first in the comics) better. She kinda reminds me of Storm. I may have a thing for exotic women with big hair, tiaras, capes, and bikinis. Maybe I better stay away from drag shows *shivers*. Next is my all-time favorite Sci-Fi character....Deckard from Blade Runner. If this ever got made I could die and go to heaven!
Chazwinski
Roy Batty: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain.... Time to die. Punisher
Very nice designs. Vixen and posin ivy are deffinately my favorite
Chazwinski
Thanks, man! Are you ready for some more? These are really fun to do. Chameleon Boy: For my 50th design (Yay!) I decided to do a Jim Lee era Cyclops. Hellboy: Sun Boy from the Legion. The Bride from Kill Bill: And finally, Alex Delarge (I know buttsheadmate will like this one): Edited July 18, 2008 by Chazwinski
buttheadsmate
And finally, Alex Delarge (I know buttsheadmate will like this one): It is just a matter of time before Kubricks start producing Kubrick film Kubricks. Why the hell can't we have the Minimates first? This is beautiful it actually kicked me straight in the yarbles.
karamazov80
Maybe it's because mini-figures like Minimates don't take up much space (or maybe, just maybe, it is my huge bias toward block figures generally), but I think that large, colorful teams really work better with these figures than they do with larger figures (like 6 inchers). My Avengers, X-Men, and Justice League look fantastic displayed together. As such, I was really, really hoping for a fuller JSA, Teen Titans, and Legion of Super Heroes from DST. Your custom designs make me weep for what might have been, Chaz. Edited July 18, 2008 by karamazov80

Yeah, I know....I just have to face the facts that the Legion just isn't as popular as when I was growing up and will probably never see toy form. I thought minimates would be the perfect niche for them. I think most of the minimate collectors have one thing in common, and that's a love for uniformity in their collections. I was so tired of the alternating scales in the larger figures making my collection look odd that I just gave up on them. It's nice to see specific guidelines in a toy line...but the clincher is all the different company liscenses (like Mego in the 70's) in the same format. As you guys can tell by my designs...my tastes are all over the place.

Chazwinski
I decided to do the rest of the Legion of Superheroes. All of these and the members I previously posted are from around the time of The Great Darkness Saga, which I always thought was the height of the LSH's popularity...therefore, I haven't included earlier members such as Ferro Lad and Chemical King, or later characters such as Tellus or Quislet. The Following members are: Mon-El Star Boy Karate Kid Dawnstar Shrinking Violet Invisible Kid Ultra Boy Phantom Girl Element Lad Lightning Lad Saturn Girl Light Lass Projectra White Witch Blok

Deadpool
You should do the whole cast of Watchmen
Chazwinski
You should do the whole cast of Watchmen I probably will...in fact, The next design is of Zhora from Blade Runner, who has a transparent raincoat which helped me practice for the transparent fabric on Silk Spectre's costume. Was anybody else slightly traumatized like me as a kid to see Harrison Ford shoot an unarmed woman in the back? By the way, Zhora was played by the beautiful Joanna Cassidy. She was in a lot of TV movies in the 70's and also in a famous Smokey the Bear commercial. Recently she played Brenda's bitchy mom on Six Feet Under. Chazwinski
Here's the other Zhora in her stripper outfit: Comedian from the Watchmen (I saw the trailer for the movie this weekend...Can't wait!) Grifter: Pulsar- Photon - Captain Marvel - why do they keep changing her name
Chazwinski
Time for today's designs which are : Ozymandias...I have to laugh...I kinda threw Bubastis together.... The rest is the cast of Blade Runner (now I only have to do Gaff and I'm finished) Pris - "standard pleasure model" Where can I get one? Rachael - I included the Voight-Kampff machine Dr. Tyrell Leon- I couldn't exactly remember his outfit clearly
Chazwinski
My final Blade Runner 'mate, Gaff: My final Watchmen - Rorshach & Silk Spectre: Retro Gals - 70's Supergirl, Golden Age Wonder Woman, Marvel Girl: 80's Colossus and Magik: The robot Maria from the 1927 movie "Metropolis" Finally, Electro! Chazwinski
For today's designs first up I have the New Avengers, Patriot: Hulkling: His main squeeze, Wiccan: and the Kate Bishop Hawkeye: Then I did Ares... I haven't read Mighty Avengers...Is this guy pretty cool? The first costume Rogue wore: Finally...another Storm. She's my fave so you have to expect a lot of her. This was the costume she wore when Arkon abducted her. Talk about hair! this minimate would probably fall over without a foot peg.
Chazwinski
Now for something completey different. Personally, I'm sick of hearing about girls going apesh@t over that green dress that Kiera Knightly wore in Atonement. But, it got me to thinking that something like that woyld certainly appeal to girls, and it would make a new civvie for us so I decided to design one. I think Jean Grey or Mary Jane would look great in this.
