Yeah seems like it wouldn't be too difficult, so long as you had decently thick material. Certainly couldn't turn out worse than the crap paper-like capes that come with certain Lego Jedi i could mention *grumble*... still though, "book sock"? The excellent member "Murderofcrows" set me up with the Batman one so I could complete the set. The chairs are a little big for mimimates, but it's the best so far and I really do like it.
