I still maintain someone should get PSU.

I really want it, but can't go online, and it has no offline multiplayer, so that's useless to me.

Hey I bought PSu once... For you. ;)

You know I love it Ady, but I just can't justify dumping an extra fee to playing one game.

Come play Halo with me. :P There are quads now. :D

I know... You're going to try and resist. You're gonna say "not my cup o' tea." But then you're gonna remember how much fun it was playing PSU with me online... You'll come. :P

Ok, here it is, I think it's time for Crackdown. I have just beaten Spider-Man 3. While it was fun, I don't have a lot of desire to keep playing the side missions. On top of that, there is no Multiplayer or Live modes. So I'm looking to trade it in tomorrow and I want to get something not only fun and lengthy, but also something that will last beyond the initial play by the addition of multi-player, namly Live play. And, on top of THAT, I just upgraded to a Gold Account so I'm in the mood for some Online Mayham. So, what do you guys think, Spidey 3 for Crackdown? Good move? neo

Well, it would have been best to get in on Crackdown a month ago since the Halo Beta that's included is coming to a close. :(

That being said Crackdown still has a lot to offer FOR ONLINE players. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU ARE STUCK OFFLINE. Multiplayer, New weapons, Vehicles & Characters make this game fun in online and give it longer life.

Does this trend worry anyone else? - They obviously kept back content so they could sell it online later.

Maybe that stuff should have been in the game to start with or released as free content, I can see the cost of games becoming higher because you buy the game and then have to spend $$$ on stuff to get it to a complete state.

While I was talking I figured I'd drop you guys some info on Halo 3 stuff since most of you aren't in the Beta (and I'm on the inside track)

First, Beta stuff:

-You can now yank turrets off their mountings so you can walk around with a minigun! Whenever you carry big guns like this though you move very slowly.

-Equipment is a new addition to Halo with Bubble shields, Power Drainers, Portable grav lifts & Trip mines.

-The new vehicle in the beta is the mongoose an ATV. All the old vehicles have been retooled too. The most exciting one is the Wraith which now has a turret mounted onboard so another teammate can make sure people don't board your tank.

-Spike granades are new. Not to mention all the old weapons have been retooled. That's right! Even the Needler is worth picking up now!!!

Second, Inside track stuff:

-Other new vehicles include the Brute Chopper. It's a rhino-like motor bike that can ram other vehicles!

brutechopper5.jpg

-The Radar jammer is another new piece of equipment.

-Not only will you be able to choose your armour color in Halo 3... You'll be able to choose your armour!!! That's right! There are some pretty sweet ones too!

Halo_3_Customization.jpg

-New maps include a redone Zanzibar (renamed Last Resort) and a massive desert... The largest Halo map ever.

Yeah Tim...

This has been a controversial topic for some time now. Some games seem to get it right (Lumines you only pay for wha you want so the game can cost anywhere from $12 to $60) while other games make you pay for stuff that OBVIOUSLY should have been there from the start *COUGH* Oblivion *COUGH.* DSeriously though, even Oblivion has redeemed itself with downloads like Shivering Isles which makes the game another 50% larger a year after it's release.

You know, I'm still on the fence about the download stuff. At first it really hacked me off, however after getting a coule of DLC packs for my current games I am beginging to change my view. I think it all comes down to how much you really like the game. Since they are completely optional I don't see it being a huge problem. Sure Hulk should be have been in MUA from day one. Sure, the new crackdown vehicles should have been in the game from Day one. etc. However, if you don't want those things you don't have to get them and they are still engaging games. However, for people like me, I'm replaying Marvel UA again just because of the new characters. I just downloaded the new Maps for Worms XLA game and I love them. So, if it's something you love, why not add more stuff for a small price. So, as you can see, I'm still on the fence, but I'm learning awful far to one side :).

As far as the Halo stuff goes, thanks for the FYI Nestle. I've never owned a Halo game (never owned an Xbox) and I've only played Halo 1 a few times at a friend's house. However, I am really looking forward to getting lost in the Halo Universe in September. It's not so much about the single player, but I've heard the Multiplayer is awesome, so I can't wait to get my hands on the game and get whipped like a nine year old at Neverland Ranch. By far the coolest thing though, is the ability to create your own Spartan. Seriously, that makes getting the game that much sweeter to me. I love when games, especially online games, let you customize your own character. Mine will be Orange with one of those all visor helmets. Awesome! neo

Wow. Don't even get me started about how excited I am for Halo 3.

Comparing it to most games out there right now, most of them took the majority of their gameplay ideas FROM Halo. So, of course Halo 1 started it all. However, if yuou missed Halo 2 the game has come A LONG ways since then. 2 out of 3 of the games I was looking forward to this year may have been for Wii, but don't mistake that for which I want most.

What Halo does so well is leaving it entirely up to the player. Until you step into the match EVERYTHING is balanced. There isn't any "super weapon" that you give to the best player. Each weapon has a use in a different scenario. Sure, a team with a killer sniper is gonna do great, but the team that sticks to what it does best will do better. Becasue EVERY gun has strengths and weaknesses you end up with "squad based" combat. Each person will have practiced more with a certain weapon and thus become a specialist with it. So, you're team will consist of a sniper, a heavy wepons, a driver, infultrator, close combat, ect.

The other really cool thing is damage spiking. Their term for how you can "throw" a fight. For instance grenades & melee. Both do a lot of damage, but if you miss have wasted time and... You're dead. Equipment is the genertaion of this idea. You're pinned down by a sniper? Whip down a bubble shield. You've now got 20 seconds to tip the scale in you favor. Outnumbered? Well if you've got a grenade whip down an energy drain. It's an EMP that drops everyone's shields. All of a sudden that one grenade can take out EVERYONE (including you).

Do any of you guys rent games? I have a Blockbuster Online account when I can get the movies through mail and keep them as long as I want. I was looking for a way to rent games through Blockbuster but I haven't found one, they only seem to allow moives through the online service.

But, I was wondering if any of you guys know of a company that offers games that way, maybe netflix of something like that. The reason I ask is because I want to play games like Pirates that are just narriatives without having to pay $60 for them. They say you can beat Pirates in a weekend sitting, so I'd like to rent the game and then mail it back when I'm done. The problem with renting from a physical store is late fees. Say I only get the game for 2 days, but I haven't beaten it yet, I'd have to rent it again. So, do you guys rent from anywhere online like that, and if so do you recommend it? neo

I'm really looking forward to Halo 3. I got Xbox live last week and it is freaking awesome. I'm addicted to it and find I'm on it alot, especially when I should be revising for my exams. Is anyone else on here on Xbox Live Halo? PM me your gamertag and I'll add you, and play you.

I need to get a 360 before Halo 3 comes out and transfer my live account.

Someone suggested Viva Pinata. I'm playing that right now at work. Its pretty entertaining. It will get me through my day! Never have I had this fun cultivating a virtual garden!!! HAHAHA

Oh when Halo 3 comes out We'll have to start a clan or something.

I don't personally rent them neo, but Gamefly is the most popualr online game rental store in the world.

As for clans back in Halo 2's prime we had a very promonant clan called Mini Yeti. It was pretty popular. When our clan desolved though I gave the name to some annoying kids we played with and we were never able to use the name again. :( Oh well... There's always Halo 3.

BTW I've found out armour customization is even more intense than I thought. You'll choose your helmet, armour, shoulder pads, ect.

Isn't Viva Pinata great!?!?! I LOVE it! I'm a level 45 gardener!!! We wrote that game off when it came out, but it is AWESOME! :D

OK, Gears of War question for folks. I haven't hooked my 360 up to the computer, etc :P But I was wondering if something was up with my disc? I've reached the end and just haven't had the patience to try and beat the main baddie using the tips everyone has given me. So I decided to start over in my wife's profile and play it a little bit slower this time. Anyway, I was wondering if in the heading to the gas station level(Dom and Fenix set out to get the vehicle) if it was normal for the loading prompter to pop up? I don't remember this happening the first time I played the game? Let me know if I need to take this back and get it replaced ;)

I guess the big question is... does it stay (hang) or go away after the loading? if it goes away I wouldn't worry about it, it's prob just loading the level

unless someone beats me to it, I'll pop mine in and let you know over the next few days Don.

But I digress, I'm just not sure what I'm going to do about it yet...neo
