Reideen1313
Out of curiousity, where are you getting translucent 'mates from?
jcastick
Reideen: I have been using either Twilight Frodo or Clear Iceman. Then all I do is carefully scrape off the paint from them and Voila!! - instant clear Mate I'm hoping to get a few more pics of Phoenix in the daylight.....hope they turn out better. Amazing.JL
Just a quick update, added some daytime shots of Phoenix. Are you trying to turn me on?
Master-Wolverine
The Phoenix looks great!
Samwise Gamgee
I would definately like to get a clear version of the hair I have on Phoenix. Actually, I believe that hair is clear. If you shine a bright light from directly behind it, it looks clear. So I think if you can get the paint off, you should be good.
boyd
Yup - the hair on Phoenix and Firestar is clear and just painted over. And as soon as I find an easy and foolproof way to finish stripping the paint, I'm going to use one for a custom I have in mind.
jcastick
Are you trying to turn me on? Well, I wasn't trying to.......lol Boyd: if you do indeed find that way...PLEASE let me know!!!

boyd
Boyd: if you do indeed find that way...PLEASE let me know!!! There's a few things I still need to try, but when I have the best way to remove the paint, I will let you know.
psychopanda
Ah, I didn't know the hair was clear underneath. Removing paint on plastic minis? Well, I can tell you what NOT to use.... I once turned a plastic heroclix into a soft lump of plastic with fingernail polish remover!
boyd
There's a few Minimates out there with clear hair - the Unmasked Spider-Man hair is clear underneath the paint. Which just gave me an idea for a possible custom...
jcastick
Yeah, I've tried a few Heroclix plus Nail Polish Remover........it was interesting to say the least! I'd definately be interested in anything you find out Boyd!
