Gentle Giant DC Super Powers Micro Figures

What's the point? I don't get why, if you like Super Powers, you'd want a figure that size. But I have the same question about the giant ones, so I guess I'm not the target audience. What I don't get is why Mattel or DCC don't just revive Super Powers and make new figures in that scale and style. Who wouldn't want, say, Super Powers Harley Quinn?

I'd take an Atom or a Shrinking Violet in this scale.

Likewise I'd be tempted to add a Giganta or Colossal Boy from the giant-sized line to my shelf of original Kenner figures.

But I agree, just extend the original line with new characters or different versions of the popular ones. Retro is the trend, isn't it?

This has been a sweet gig for GG. Scan Kenner's figures, scale them accordingly, copy the original trade dress and market it. They're essentially officially licensed bootlegs.

What gets me is that Warner Bros. Consumer Products seems to be allowing anyone to offer 2-inch figures regardless of style. There might actually be hope that DST could offer DC Minimates.

I still think it's going to happen eventually, if not with the wider DC license, than through the DC Animated license. Hey, maybe they could make Super Powers Minimates? Single carded figures on the old Kenner-style cardbacks? That would be pretty awesome, even if we did get most of the SP characters already.

Are these even articulated figures though? I don't think the GI Joe Micro ones were.

I only had one or two Super Powers figures as a kid, but I'd love HP's idea to be applied to Secret Wars instead. They actually made a Deadpool in the Jumbo line for SDCC, but it would be pretty rad if they just "continued" that toyline in its original scale.
