Muppets Minimates!

Recommended Posts

My only question is what is the show going to be about other than the personal lives of the Muppets? The Office was a mockumentary about the employees of a paper company. Will this be about the Muppets creating a TV show for ABC?

I think it should be something like the first reboot from 2011 or the TV Show, Smash or Nashville. Like a group of people putting on a show, but not like in the style of 30-Rock.

The first one's definitely worth a look, the second one is just bland and un enjoyable. They separate the Muppets as different characters other than one unit that work together. It feels much more like a half-assed reboot that borrows continuity other than a legit sequel.

Man, I hate to say this, but I'm not feeling these. I just don't think the blocky aesthetic works for me. I prefer the Kubrick approach of fully sculpted heads. Kermit almost seems like a body builder with that thick neck.

I'm not so much bothered by Kermit's lack of a neck as I am the tacked on noses on Piggy and Gonzo. I'm hoping those are just prototypes and the final figures will have sculpted noses as part of the heads. As is they look like they plug into a hole in the head which looks odd here. But overall I'm pleased with them. Hopefully they do well because I NEED Animal.

But I'm going to buy them because I'm a sucker for the Muppets. I have a "Muppet wall" in our hallway and these guys will fit in nicely with my Muppet collection.
