TENIME_art
http://www.papilio.com/inkjet%20rub%20on%20decal%20decal%20transfer%20paper%20media.html I haven't had the greatest luck with Waterslide, and while I love the vinyl stickers, I'm still looking for something that is closer to factory-tampo. Has anyone tried this with Minimates, and if so, what was the result?
Mattallica
i havent had good luck with the water slide ones either, i dont know if its my printer or what but i allow them to dry and have even tried spraying them with a clear coat before but every time i wet them to transfer them the ink bleeds off the paper, i mean it makes sense what with it being water based ink and all but others seem to have no problem, i wonder if this(rub on) would work better worth a try i guess. also since we're an the topic anyone care to chime in on how they print them i mean do you wait until you have a full sheet worth or ???? i admit im a bit of a noob to the whole decal thing. luke314pi
I have tried the rub-on decals, and they did not work well for minimates. Waterslide decals are frustrating sometimes, which is why I have switched 100% to stickers for my own stuff.
TENIME_art
Well, poop. Guess I'll stick with the stickers, then. Luke, you get my PM?
youbastards
I picked up a pack of the Papilio Self-Adhesive Glossy Photo Film (Inkjet), and just completed my first custom with it, it will now be replacing waterslide decals on all of my customs, it was so easy to work with and super-thin! (Sorry, can't show the custom, it's a gift for my Secret Santa!)
luke314pi
I will have to give that one a shot. The matte vinyl inkjet sticker paper we carry now is a bit thicker, which seems to be the main downside.
Lobsterman
I've personally had a lot of success with the laser print decals. The image doesn't run or bleed because it's toner rather than ink, and you can get some pretty sharp details.
youbastards
I would definitely recommend it. My biggest problem with water-slide decals was the lack of consistency. Some sheets would behave fine, others would leave all the glue on the paper, so the decal couldn't stick to anything.
groundhog7s
Has anyone else tried Post-Its before? I'm not really liking the end result on them and have considered switching to a different off brand, but thought here might be a good place to ask. hellpop
I just got some of the new inkjet sticker paper in the mail from Luke today, and I'm pretty happy with it (though I couldn't figure out which side was the printing side, and, well, you can guess the rest... ). I'm very impressed with them so far; I think they hold color much better then the old laser stuff. Flesh in particular looks a lot better in my eyes. Luke's right, it's a bit thick, but I don't mind that too much, considering how easy they are to work with. I definitely recommend it. TENIME_art
How much thicker are they than the laser ones? I didn't mind it that much...
karamazov80
No, but it sounds sexy.
Mattallica
so how do you guys go about printing your decals, do you print a whole sheet at once or?
luke314pi
I always print mine as full sheets, but then again I make a crapload of customs, so not much gets wasted.
Rheul
Stickers huh? I'll be giving these a shot. I havent been able to finish a bunch of customs because my wife has forbiden the spraying clear coat in the garage.
Nervous Rex
I used rub on's for this mini chinook for someone who is retiring from work last year (I work on the real things  ) the mates I put in there for scale. They looked great because it was just the letters and no backing paper on it, but it was really hard to line up, and probably would have looked better as a decal or sticker. I think if it was for a torso it could work, but for anything with a curve, i think it would be too much trouble. this is just my opinion. I have just tried luke's sticker paper on something, and I really like how it turned out, and would recommend that, especially for anyone who is not used to waterslide decals My link
