  1. That's the secret. He's been a woman all along.
  2. If this show was more just about Bullock, I'd like it. One of these days that Donal Logue guy is going to anchor a good show that lasts.
  3. This set looks better in color, but it's not very exciting. The Nick turtles are already out and are better figures. I'd be more excited by Miage Shredder and Foot.
  4. They're making Bruce Timm Minimates. Literally just a whole series of Bruce Timm in different outfits. Leisure Suit Bruce, Kung-Fu Bru, Tap Dancin' Timm... It's a license to print money!
  5. The realistic human faces creep me out. Its like Abercrombie models as DC characters. Odd body structure too. Pass.
  6. Did we ever decide if this is truly dead or not?
  7. I still think Frozen Minimates would shelf warm until the end of time. If it became a gateway to females for the Minmates brand, I'd eat my hat. But I'll consent to agree to disagree with the Frozenheads. I'd buy an Iron Man douche though. As for Batman 66... That's a huge seller for FTC. Mattel's complete mishandling of that brand and killing it before it ever even hit shelves had more to do with it's failure than the brand itself. Though i would agree it's not as big as it once was now that 45 different companies have done some sort of tie-in for it. I'm putting all my eggs into it being Who's The Boss Minimates. I think a lot of the signs point to this.
  8. There are Frozen everything though, and while it does have some boy appeal, it's largely a girl property. Just because its popular doesn't mean it's a fit for everything. I can't fathom Frozen Minimates being any sort of a success. The only real outlet would be Disney store and the girls coming in would pass right over Frozen Minimates for Frozen plushes and dolls and things that fit better. You have to know your market. Slapping Iron Man on something will help it sell, unless you're selling douche, the Iron Man is powerless. Frozen is a great license but a bad fit for power tools. Same with Frozen and Minimates.
  9. Power Rangers would be awesome. As long as its MMPR.
  10. how are you enjoying NJPW World? I keep thinking of signing up, but I really want to be able to stream it through my PS3 to my TV.
  11. I was thinking of making a post about why Minimates aren't in that section in Targetthe other day. They have a ton of collector type stuff with all those licenses. There's also some real off beat mini figures and brick style figures. Seems like Minimates could get in there. Has DST tried recently to get into Target in the collector card/figure aisle?
  12. The Robocop remake isn't the worst thing ever... But it's another movie that doesn't need to be named after another. That is to say, other than the movie being called Robocop, it bares no real resemblance to the other Robocop. Sure, it's littered with stuff based on the old Robocop, but those things are only there or called the old names because they have to. You could have just as easily named the movie Future Law or something less lame and it would have been recieved as a pretty great action flick. Calling it Robocop sort of sealed it's doom. It'll never be as good as the original and doesn't work as a sequel. And I believe it was more or less a middle of the pack flop. I hate MM number one. I don't find her funny at all. The rest the cast is so-so, as I think Wiig can be funny in VERY small doses. But why does the movie have to be called Ghostbusters? Why can't they make a movie about women fighting ghosts without crapping on an established and let's face it, fairly beloved franchise? It's the kiss of death to this movie before they ever shoot a single scene. Because it will never be as good as the original, it'll never make the impact and it can't give the franchise any legs. Often good/decent movies, end up sucking because they're "remakes" or "reimagining" of a classic movie, because the studios think it's safer to release something that already has an audience, than realizing that if it didn't have those names, it would likely tap into those same audiences and get respect from those fans for being an homage to something great. People love homages, people hate remakes.
  13. I thought they were making a sequel? That's been in development hell for decades. How did we suddenly go from an idea that had major actors attached to it, to another doomed Melissa McCarthy project? Barf. I can only hope this news is like every other Ghostbusters movie news of the last decade... And it amounts to nothing.
  14. The show is the best turtles show ever. And I say this as a die hard Mirage fan. 2003 had some higher moments, but got lost due to Playmates and Laird having such different visions. Fred Wolf was tons of fun for the time, but the Nick show is the best of everything that's great about the turtles. It's able to hit all the familiar notes, while still freshening things up. Perhaps the only weakness is too much reliance on monster of the week throw away episodes, but you're always going to get that on a TV show like this. Also, the figures rock. The Hero Half Shell Kraang is awesome too.
  15. Kraang are technically the main villain in the current show. Hopefully we get the blue exosuit Kraang as well.
  16. Honestly, I think you could knock this out for most people in one box set plus a Bluesmobile. Easy quick one for DST.
  17. K-Marts have been mostly a bust for me, though thankfully I found a full set early on. TRU is a wasteland too, sadly, as I went there several times before the holidays looking for the two packs, for clueless people to have no idea what Minimates were and the one guy who did, didn't even know that TRU no longer stocked them all in one place. It's kind of sad when I visit a store a couple times a year but know more about the layout of the store than an employee who's been there for years... But I digress. Point is, I did go to another K-Mart and they didn't have any Minimates. I saw the remnants of a strip, which tells me these are selling well. Though we're never going to get restocks. I wandered the aisles for a while (this is my 4th or 5th way out of the way K-Mart) and low and behold I found one Minimate randomly on the shelf in a heap. Felt it. YES! It was a Kraang. The only one I was really after (though I'd taken more Foot) and it pretty much made my day. On a sadder note though, I went back home to my childhood home (in another state) for the holidays and the K-Mart that used to be there where I'd bought almost all my toys as a kid, closed down It was open last year as a Sears Home Essentials, which was just a fancy K-Mart, but now it's empty. And to compound the issue, I went to the Toys R Us from my childhood, which has been there for over 35 years and they were clearancing the whole store for 40% off and not taking returns and such. Which meant they were closing down, though they didn't say as much, it's what was happening. No TMNT Minimates there either. But it was depressing that the two stores I went to look for TMNT Minimates at, which were the two main toy buying locations of my youth, were both going the way of the Dodo. And no TMNT Minimates either.
