  1. The Technodrome forums is probably the best place. But fair warning, it's one of those places where everyone is all jaded and generally hate Playmates and do a lot of self-loathing and whatnot. But it's probably the best place to keep track of the figures and see pics, etc.
  2. I'm pretty pumped to see what's new. Hopefully some really cool TMNT stuff and some hot new licenses.
  3. I wonder if Lego has all the merch tied up with the Lego Batman movie. How bizarre would it be if other companies could license out the products?! Lego Batman Minimates!
  4. Oh agree, 100%. It only works if you don't know it. If you knew coming in it was, it wouldn't have had any effect positively.
  5. Oh I could pretty much guess that 90% of the audience I saw it with didn't understand the ending. I think some of them might think it was connected to Sixth Sense or something. Which probably confused them even more. But I got it, so it definitely boosted my enjoyment of the movie overall. But I could totally see how it would just confuse a lot of people.
  6. I thought the Visit was a much more compelling movie all and all. Even if the "twist" in that one was pretty obvious, it was more entertaining as a film. However Split was good not great, but the ending "twist" was great and made the movie better overall, but if you cut the ending scene off it was just okay, IMO.
  7. Oh ok, I am a few episodes behind and was like, damn, I need to catch back up.
  8. Yeah they were a lot of fun. Tim Thomerson is a legend. "C'mon Hap, we've gotta get you out of here!"
  9. Wait, Usagi has finally showed up?! I really gotta start watching my DVR!
  10. It's just strange because it's VERY much like a body glitter. And it's not just like one pack that had this. It's like a bunch of random ones. But all TWD. I suppose release agent residue could make sense, but that usually is some sort of goo.
  11. I have a unique question/problem. I'm not really into Walking Dead, but have bought some figures recently for customs, dios, etc. Anyway... Something I've been noticing is that some of them are covered in sparkly dust. Like strippers. It's sort of random. Some figures have it. Some don't. But it's ONLY showed up on TWD figures. It comes off easy enough, but I find it a bit strange. Anyone know what that's about?
  12. So these customs are all just a matter of parts swapping but I'm pretty proud of these. Particularly Jack Deth, but all of these required a bit of work. Some aren't 100% screen accurate, but I feel like they capture the feel of the characters. Jack Deth 1985 Lena Gotta use the "long minute" to stop this Trancer attack! Hap Ashby Whistler in 1985. Jack Deth versus the Trancers. Jack saves Lena from a Trancer. Jack Deth in 2247 versus a Trancer. Chairman Spengler tells Jack Deth of the stakes in 1985, he's going to send him "down the line". "Is that you, McNulty?!" Jack Deth in 1991. Another time, more Trancers to singe! "Dry hair's for squids!"
  13. I would totally buy Shadow Minimates. Also Groundhog Day Minimates. So long as it came with Ned Ryerson.
  14. Also, and maybe this is just me, don't flaunt it on the official unofficial forum for said product? That's basically asking for trouble and just bad manners.
  15. I noticed the box set was listed at Lukes for $23.99, and I think they're normally listed for $18.99... Are these more expensive? MSRP gone up? Am I crazy?
  16. They are a Mega Bloks rebranding. Supposedly the more "adult" oriented brands, with be Mega Construx and only the very basic young kids stuff will be called Mega Bloks, moving forward. However, you have it completely backwards. Mega Bloks as a brand was doing incredible things, with Call of Duty, TMNT, etc. Then Mattel bought them. While it seems that many lines are still doing good, stuff like the new Power Rangers and the Mega Construx nonsense is directly tied to Mattel. That stuff didn't happen until Mattel bought them out. And anyone who knows anything about Mattel, will point to the fact that Mattel has a history of this sort of thing. Cheaping out whenever they can, buying up a license or a brand and then essentially ruining it by not putting in the same effort that the brand originally had before Mattel bought it.
  17. I could see myself buying dozens of Mortal Kombat Minimates (as long as we get their original looks!) but I can't see me buying any Assassin's Creed stuff. Just not a property I have any interest in.
  18. They probably don't/can't be bothered to tell the difference. That particular store has probably had an issue with "collectors" and has chosen to impose some sort of rule. Probably some Hot Wheels guy who ransacked the place or something. That's usually how it goes.
  19. For the record, not saying I think this line will do bad, I think it'll do well, but I remember some of the merch being a bit of a mixed bag it seemed way back when. No grappling gun for Rorschach?
  20. I'm kind of "whatever" about Watchmen as a property in general and while I liked the movie, it seems like ages ago that it came out. I pretty much bought no merch from it (which I kinda feel like no one did and most that stuff died at retail) That said, these Minimates look fantastic and I'll definitely be picking them up. Really sharp work with these guys. I hope Rorschach has some fun alternate faces. I'm hopeful that these guys get some cool accessories.
  21. I am curious how they are as well. They look really shoddy, IMO. Zedd has no sculpting (not that anyone does) but I'm mildly interested still. The box artwork and stuff looks HORRIBLE. Like, not that it's a bad design or something, it's just CRAP. Like, bad bootleg crap. I honestly assumed that was all placeholder artwork, which is what it looked like, but I've seen the stuff in stores. It actually has that MS Paint layout and artwork. It scares me that Mattel may ruin Mega Bloks.
