  1. I disagree. Buck Rogers is one of those properties that collectors in their 30's and up would remember from their childhood, like Knight Rider, A-Team, Battlestar Galactica, etc. It might not have the same weight as BSG given its 2004 reboot but I think you'll be surprised by how many people fondly remember this show. If anything hurts the set it would be the character selection. Buck and Wilma are a given but I think Hawk would be more recognizable than Tiger Man to casual collectors. But I totally understand DSTs logic in their selections, breaking them up by season (at least that's what I interpret from Zach's comments). I think they'd be more desirable if there were 2 box sets released at the same time, season 1 and season 2 that way folks would feel more comfortable buying in to the property.
  2. Theopolis doesn't have to be removable, but a separate accessory of him would be great. I'm sure I'll be pleased with whatever we get. Any idea when these will be released?
  3. As a relatively new collector I've been trying to complete my collection of the Marvel movie 'mates. In the last couple of weeks I've done just that with a few ebay auctions and purchases. Probably the ones I'm most excited to get are the Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: First Avenger single packs from these auctions... http://www.ebay.com/itm/121392028504?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/121392035935?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/121392039591?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 After I won these I just caved and bought the rest of what I needed from ebay. Now I'm all caught up and eagerly awaiting upcoming releases.
  4. Dare we hope for a Gary Coleman figure? I'm really excited for this. When I read "Buck Rogers" in the thread list I was expecting the classic pulp hero Buck that a lot of companies are doing now. I was all ready to post "this would have a lot more excitement if it was the TV series" and when I clicked in and read the release and saw the picture I almost cried. I'm in for a couple sets at least. Tiger Man! Mini Twiki! I can only hope that a second set will come with Dr. Huer, Hawk, "disco" Buck and Kane. A Starfighter would just be too much to hope for but man would it be cool.
  5. Has anyone seen these show up in the Paizo online store yet? They are showing "Backorder Unavailable" as of now. Just wondering if they hit and I missed them.
  6. Could have been a mis-pack at the factory. Put a Gamora in the box instead of Yondu or whatever. It's rare but it happens. I have a Green Lantern movie Hal Jordan figure (the cosmic variant or whatever it was called) on an Abin Sur card.
  7. Nah, to do it right she'd have to have a sculpted head. Only way to do those smackers justice.
  8. Considering that most of that article is a correction to their previous article makes me think getting the facts right isn't their top priority. Bleeding Cool is nothing more than a gossip column filled with rumor, speculation and controversy designed to get the most page hits. I'm not saying the underlying issue of a lack of female merchandise isn't legit (it is) but the way they present it as a huge controversy is poor "journalism".
  9. I always wondered if anyone did that, if you don't mind me asking, what makes you favor the movie waves over the comic waves? Honestly I just really like the designs of the movie costumes over the comic designs. They are more intricate and realistic which fits in with my overall collection (Hot Toys 1/6 movie figures are my other obsession) I pick and choose comic based figures based on how much I like the designs. I have the All New X-Men wave preordered because it reminds me of the original X-Factor costumes. I'll do the same with this wave. If there is something I really like I'll grab it. I'm really hoping there is something cool that compliments my collection.
  10. The reason Marvel isn't pulling Spider-man support is because they have a better relationship with Sony than they do with Fox. So that's why they are jerking around the FF and X-Men products and not Spider-man. It's all about Hollywood playground BS. Back to the topic at hand... since I mostly collect the Marvel movie 'mates I'll have to see these before I decide if I need them or not. Hopefully the reveal will be soon.
  11. Any idea when preorders will open up? They didn't say. I have to wait until they put up preorders before I can put up ours. I should probably also mention that these will be $24.99 per set, both from us and from EE. That seems a bit steep but I believe these 2 box sets come with part of the couch so that takes some of the sting away from the price. Not sure how the "Build-A-Couch" is going to work though.
  12. Opened one of my blue Leos and I was surprised by how much new tooling there was on the figure. Not just the feet/lower legs but also the lower arms are sculpted with the elbow pads. It is a bit hard to make out the detail as its a clear figure but from what I could see these are going to be really great painted up and I can't wait for the case I have preordered to arrive. Regarding the casepacks, as long as I get a full set of all the characters/figures and at least 2 Foot Soldiers I'll be happy.
  13. There's a new Sentinel coming in Wave 59 so I doubt they'd double up with one in back to back waves. If it's not an AIM Soldier then I'd say it could be a new Kree especially given the 2 GotG themed figures. Zach said there would be 2 GotG themed figures (Ronan and IM) but I don't think he said it would only be 2 GotG figures.
  14. A new AIM Soldier perhaps? It did just get a figure in the recent Marvel Legends Cap series.
  15. What's the recipe for these? I'd like to borrow it.
  16. No it was an older gentleman. Very nice guy. When he said I had just missed them and they were done for the day I apparently looked really disappointed because he reached somewhere (a pocket maybe?) and handed me one. I said thanks and that my wife is a HUGE TMNT fan. He then surprised me and handed me another saying we both needed one and that now he was officially done as those were the last ones he had. A great experience and it scored me some points with the wife too. BTW did we ever get a final case breakdown on the blind bags? I know the cases are supposed to contain a full set but I'm curious what the ratio will be between Turtles and the rest.
  17. I picked up the first set because it's Thundercats and I love that property. I hoped they'd make all of the 'cats and was quite surprised they went as deep as they did. I'm just happy to have all of the main characters all in the same scale and style. Plus they look really cool on display with the Thundertank and Cat's Lair.
  18. I managed to get the last 2 Leos on Saturday. Had just missed the giveaway but my wife needed one and the booth rep (pretty sure it wasn't Zach) took pity on me and handed me the last 2 he had. Still missed out on the Mikey at the NIck booth though. Grabbed a couple off ebay for a price I was okay with. We were both bummed there wasn't a Raph but after reading the reason behind the 2 colors chosen it makes sense. Still want a clear red Raph but we'll settle for the regular version coming out... for now.
  19. Thanks for the picture of them in the Milano. I want to get one for them but wasn't sure how much room there was inside.
  20. Just to clarify, the only TRU exclusive is the Yondu set correct? The others will be in the LCS wave? I didn't see any differences in those 2 but don't want to miss out because of a minor accessory or deco change. BTW thanks to whoever runs the DST Twitter account. I got the Yondu set ordered from TRU.com on Friday since my local stores have either dropped Minimates or are hiding them in a Hogwart's Express platform I haven't found.
  21. Is that a hint of things to come? Because an Aliens Queen would rock.
  22. I like this set. The uniforms are reminiscent of the original X-Factor uniforms, at least conceptually - a central design done in unique colors for each team member. They really set the team apart from the standard blue and gold X-Men uniform. I think DST has done a great job translating them to Minimate form and I'm especially pleased that they were able to correct the black trim on Bobby to match the current look.
  23. I stumbled on this post in a Google search for the Justin Hammer minimate. I'm the one who won this auction. Sorry if I outbid anyone here. When I got it it smelled of smoke but a good scrubbing with some mild dish soap and warm water took care of that. I think it was the plastic baggie he was shipped in that had the most smoke exposure and not the 'mate itself. He's all fresh and clean in my collection now. Semi-related, is the Tactical Drone that hard to find? I've seen the other drones a lot on ebay but the green Tactical Drone seems to be as hard to find as Justin Hammer.
