  1. If they're unable to make minimates for those reasons then minimates are already dead and we haven't figured it out yet.
  2. I'm sure it's too late but I've definitely sent something to Ask DST. It will be interesting to see the response.
  3. Knowing there's going to be at least one gap (and probably more, because if they'll skip Spider-Man what won't they skip?) devalues the whole MCU collection to me and I'm only missing a handful of MCU minimates. Add that to the frustration of dealing with Walgreens distribution to find new stuff anyway and it's going to be hard to muster the enthusiasm to put forth the effort.
  4. Only a toy collector could argue that appearances in a cartoon and toy line 30 years ago equals more exposure than a current movie that will be seen by millions, including practically everyone who collects minimates.
  5. Did you just argue that a wave with Prowler, Hydro-Man, and Molten Man has the best mass market potential? ? Also, I think people are making assumptions here that may not be correct. Zach's comments in the 'Best Of' thread make it sound like DST didn't even bother to license the movie period. That means no Select figures or Gallery Statues either. Unless I'm mistaken, they couldn't even have been turned down by retailers because they never shopped them product to begin with. I still don't think that was the issue, especially when they can find a was to justify doing a boxset for something like Ant-Man and the Wasp.
  6. That makes too much sense to happen.
  7. You didn't think skipping a live-action Spider-Man movie for the first time in 12 years and skipping an MCU movie for the first time ever was a big deal? Seriously? I'm not willing to blame retailers on this one. If somehow that's the issue it's all on DST not being able to sell a Spider-Man movie. It wouldn't be any different than Homecoming.
  8. That's a rather expansive definition of exactly.
  9. Wow, that's disappointing. As others have said, if DST is going to start skipping MCU movies then I have a lot less incentive to keep buying movie minimates. I've been losing enthusiasm for them anyway as I've found much of the product lately to be more miss than hit. Captain Marvel might be a good place to start. One other thought: It's always dangerous to give your customers a jumping off point, they just might take it.

    wave 77

Yes, I was hoping for Shocker and Boomerang but the clues made that seem unlikely.

    wave 77

Would a translucent Molten Man really capture his comic look? Everything I've seen makes me think gold is perfect though I'm not the most familiar with him.

    wave 77

That would add a lot of value to the figure but I have to think they would have showed that head if it was going to be included.

    wave 77

Have to applaud DST for some creativity with that Spider-Man. That Miles is a horrible costume design and I'm a little disappointed DST chose it. Mysterio seems like a waste though I suppose he'll be better than the Carnage in wave 76 as far as being a repeat. Prowler, Molten Man, Kraven, and Hydro-Man look good and there seems to be just enough new parts to not feel like the characters got shorted. Vulture is a little boring being so much like the first but that one was so close to perfect that I guess there's not much to do if they fix the colors and plastic. I'll have to wait for a better picture of the Spider-Slayer.
  14. I'm afraid this could be accurate. Minimates seem to be turning into an afterthought with PVC statues and action figures getting most of the focus (and sales).
  15. They were in a press release a few days ago.
  16. Does the wave have a different number on it than previous ones? It seems like usually movie waves do and they're eventually available, it just might take more than two weeks.
  17. Apparently Hot Toys has decided to (more or less) do this: https://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/marvel-the-punisher-war-machine-armor-hot-toys-904324/
  18. It would be nice if there were some numbers on that list. I suspect the top items have significantly larger runs than the latest LCS waves.
  19. There's going to be a Rhino Gallery statue too: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/check-out-this-massive-spider-man-game-collectible/1100-6464430/
  20. I think we can expect every Spider-Man suit that shows up in the movie. Mysterio could look cool if done right. What we saw of the villains in the trailer doesn't get me excited for minimates of them. Also, I could do with never hearing the Spider-Man theme in a movie again.
  21. I could have sworn we had a wish list thread somewhere...
  22. Zach said on 1/3 that these would be out "soon" so I don't see why these slowly starting to show up would be anything other than Walgreens' usual distribution.
  23. Exactly. The chest piece they used only looks good with the other bulked up parts, it's ugly with normal arms and legs. DST seems to use this formula enough that they should have another piece available. The one you mention would be a much better alternative if it still exists.
  24. Is Bron Char's specialty being fat? You'd think DST would have a better solution than that particular chest piece by now, they can do better. Nice to see Ronan's Universal Weapon correct this time, that was one of the strangest mistakes I've seen made. The wave looks pretty good if awfully repetitive. Considering the cat is the best accessory in the ML figures it's disappointing to not see it here.
