Is this all the minimates news are we are getting out of TF17?

That's been my dream for years. It drives me nuts to see Cap after Cap variant when Vance would be an easy and good one. Hell I'd even settle for just a different head and keep him with the GOTG Star. I have had a Winter Solider Head piece and an APollo hair piece waiting for this day in case they don't deliver.

Anything that leads to Cyclops committing adultery and the death of Phoenix was just not going to sit well with me. I grew up reading X-Men 1980 on so his take was a bitter and unimpressive pill to swallow. The art by Jimenez though... Gorgeous.

I odn't know if it's because I had built up Firestar joining the X-Men in my mind so much but this story bombed for me. Maybe it's the residual WTF from Azrael. I still wish they went with Claremont's plan of Nightcrawler's parents being Destiny and Mystique.

Whedon's run has been the only highlight in the main X-Titles for me in over a decade. PAD did great stuff in X-Factor and a couple of nice things every now and then but nothing consistent. I would love all of your changes and anything that dismantled the Weapon X concentration camp story would be highly welcomed. THIS. ALL. OF THIS. Seriously I am hoping for a Secret Invasion 2 That undoes everything since Morrison's X-Men. Cat Beast, Cyclops being a cheating douche, Angel nonsense with the Apocalypse seed, Husk going crazy, etc. I'm all for erasing the entire Austin/Morrison era from the narrative.

Well, let's see. DeFlaco replaced Alicia Masters and that is how they erased the Torch's marriage via Skrull which was tied into this so I don't really consider this a Bendis only story. As for your questions. Ramifications - > it lead to Dark Reign and Osbourne's rise to power. Anyone replaced for years? YUP Spider-Woman and Mokingbird being the most important. This is how they undid Mockingbird's ridiculous death. Did people find out yadda? Yup. Hawkeye was the one that had the most to deal with this. This got the couple back together for a bit and then they took the story from there.

Also back on the topic, I started making a list of all of the Toybiz figures that haven't been turned into minimates and gave up. Looking at the list though, it's impressive to see how much HAS been made by DST.

Weirdly to me, his Guardians arc was the least offensive.

This is just what happened to the industry during the Silver Age. A new Green Lantern, A new Flash, etc. When you have a continuing story you have to do something in order to mark passage of time but also to give new readers a jumping on point. As for their ages, it is because they are trying to get younger readers. Comics as an industry is a niche market and it is getting harder and harder to get into the habit these days due to price, competing entertainment and return on fun. I will say this. I was SPOILED growing up. I was very lucky to have two older brothers that were also into comics so we would pool our allowances and between the three of us we were able to get the majority of the Big 2 titles. Even looking back thinking I got 20 bucks a week for comics is insane. Now as a kid $20 gets you three issues maybe. Or in two weeks you'd be able to buy a video game. This is the state of the industry and there isn't much else to do about it. Many collectors are even getting pushed out of the hobby because of the price point. Over all the points you are making are extremely valid. I agree to why they are doing it BUT it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Since I am not paying attention to the film spoilers and the Mates are still not visible I was just hoping. I've been on a Vance Astro kick for almost a decade now.
