  1. I can't wait to see that arrow filled Wolverine in person, looks great. Nice pics.
  2. I'm slightly disappointed with Lady Deathstrike's goldish tone on the vest and legs instead of Brown but that's just my personal preference. In every other respect it's a great figure, love the chest tampo and that evil smirk. Also, my phone tried to autocorrect "the chest tampo" to "thickest tampon". The hell?!
  3. Turtle, try the drunken dad head from the modern kid Nova. That's what i've used and it works for me.
  4. Oh, I wasn't even thinking movie versions. I kind of assumed it could've been comic or animated for a Walgreens assortment. I thought you might present a comic version to catch onto the upcoming movies heat. Also, it's the internet and I type like I talk which doesn't always come across clearly. Comic only is fine for me! ?
  5. That's great news! Even better news is that it's in TRU 24 which means comic look. I'll guess Grandmaster with all of the attention he'll be getting from the Ragnarok movie. A left field choice would be Attuma. Can't wait to see who it is, thanks for the heads up Zach. Another Graviton supporter is always welcome! I loved his first appearance in Avengers 158-159. Those stories blew my young mind away.
  6. Ha Ha, nice! I still want a Mastermind (or Toad) down the road. If it is the original Brotherhood they've got to complete the team. Wouldn't turn my nose up at Vanisher, Unus, classic Blob or Lucifer either. I love the first ten issues of that book.
  7. Thought I'd take advantage of this thread and list some random unmade Avengers villains I'd like to see in the future. I'm sure some could fit into other categories but i'm thinking of times they fought the Avengers. Lets see, how about Count Nefaria, Graviton, Crimson Cowl, Scarlet Centurion, Korvac, Grandmaster, the Collector, Tyrak, Atuma, and any version of the Masters of Evil up to the assault on Avengers mansion. Power Man and Swordsman would be nice too along with Whirlwind, Living Laser and Melter. He'll, I'd like the Sons of the Serpent too, John Buscema made those wacky outfits look so cool. I'm excluding Nuklo, Arsenal and Orca cause I want them to be bigger than standards allow. The lists of unmade Avengers from up above were great, but don't forget Jocasta from the 60's-70's group. She may not have been an official member at that time but she would go with my late 70's team much like classic Ms Marvel.
  8. I had forgotten all about this set. I'll guess that the unmade character is Toad, unmade costume is green Quicksilver and the Redo's are Scarlet Witch (with appropriate headgear) and Magneto. I'd also like the X-Men in their second outfits from the pic thereasonsy posted above. Yeah, i'm that guy that wants the yellow Angel costume. That's the last X-Team I'd need to have my essential sets covered. Original team, 2nd outfit team and Cockrum/Byrne team. I wouldn't mind a Sprite being made down the road either.
  9. I'd say Avengers were the main Marvel franchise in at least the 70's until the X-Men took over in the 80's. I can't speak to how they're doing now as there are too many versions of the team. I wouldn't know which one to pick up. Also, as you mentioned, soooo many characters have now crossed over and been members. I fondly remember when Beast was the only one. Good times. Well now, Avengers Forever is a whole new ballgame. That's a theme I'd really get behind. Good choice, I have nothing to counter that except sign me up! That's one of my favorite Avengers storylines and I loved Pacheco's art. ?
  10. Yep, same here. Regardless of whether they were the perceived best choice or not every character in this assortment filled a gap in my collection. For me, that's a huge win. I'd like to see another Avengers wave like this with never been dones. Give me a FA Wonder Man, Moondragon, Whizzer, Hellcat, Two Gun Kid, Dr Druid... whoever. Same with the Avengers villains. The only redos i'd care to see are figures from box sets like Beast, Herc, Black Widow and Captain Marvel. And honestly, i'd prefer them to be straight up reissues. They were fantastic the first time around. For my collecting habits I don't need a theme for a wave, I love the randomness and just want to keep adding characters.
  11. Saw the movie today and loved it. Thought the new additions meshed well with the previous cast and enjoyed getting more in depth with characters back stories. The soundtrack was seamless imo, none of the songs seemed out of place. And that third after credits scene... YES!!! I've hoped for so long that would occur, one of my favorite characters ever. Cannot wait to see how that plays out. I especially enjoy the Guardians movies standing on their own. Let them tie in on another franchises bill. I plan on seeing it again Tuesday with some other friends that couldn't make it today.
  12. I love the idea of mixed waves even more so than themes. This way there's the possibility of a little something for everyone's taste. I can't wait to see who the classic cosmic character is!
  13. I never got to comment on this wave and wanted to express my appreciation. I thought this was a great wave and was very pleased with the overall selection. Classic Falcon is the standout for me, THAT'S the Falcon i've been waiting for! He looks amazing posed next to Cap. I bought an extra to put in my Avengers display. Black Knight is another missing Avenger who was long overdue. I'm more of a yellow over gold guy,(love the four color looks) but even that couldn't diminish my happiness to add him to my collection. Tigra and Enchantress turned out great, I wouldn't change a thing with either. The Blizzards look good and the Donnie version really pops on the shelf, love that blue. The crazed look on the originals face is priceless and the ice accessories are top notch. My ideal Blizzard is the ice ninja look but I can't complain after seeing these two. Hopefully we'll see that one at a later date. The Mandroids fit in nicely with my Shield agents and give the set a fuller look. I bought four of these guys to spread out on the shelf. I wish they had a little more extension in the torso piece and slightly smaller shoulder pads but that's my only complaint about this set. These kind of waves, along with the classic X-Men, are the ones that get me fired up and remind me why I started collecting this line. I hope to see more like it and I'm sad to hear they may not have sold as well as others.
  14. And finally, Proxima Midnight??!! Bwa-Ha-Ha!!! I guess all of the good names were taken. That sounds like some DC whacko that would've jumped out of the Dark Side bar to attack the JLI back in the day. Crazy. Not too much for me in this wave but I might try to grab a Kang. I am genuinely curious about, (snicker) Proxima's mask though. Is that a mask that fits on a head or a head with the... "horns" molded on? If it's a mask that could be a nice custom piece and possibly get me to buy one. But I'll be giggling while I do it. ?
  15. While looking over my Squadron minimates I noticed that the relative size of their heads seems a bit odd. While Nighthawk has a slipover headpiece, the face seems a bit large. Kind of like the face was scaled up slightly to fit the available space? It looks off standing next to Speed Demon and Spectrum who both have masks printed on regular minimate heads. Ideally, Speed Demon and Nighthawk would've received a mask like say Cap or DD and Spectrum would've got the slipover treatment. It's a small change but I think they would look much better. Especially when you add Hyperion and P. Princess to the mix with their hair and helmet. As a possible solution, if masks aren't available, what about using the Red Queen head from the Alice line to print the masks on? It's slightly larger than a standard head (wider) and imo would look better than what we got.
  16. I agree 100% with the issues suicide watch and youbastards pointed out on the previous pages. Great posts gents. There are at least 25 Walgreen within 2 hrs of my location. Each of the last two months I took a weekend and hit them all over Saturday and Sunday. Nothing to show at any location but waves 1, 1.5 and 2. Last weekend I hit a few closer to home and it was mostly the same. 1 location had received a complete set of wave 3 but that was it and was still an hour away. My closest store still has a Cap-Hulk pack and two Spidey-glowing Electro packs, it's very discouraging. I would love to see distribution improve with this line or even a way to buy a complete set from Walgreens directly.
  17. Yeah, that's a pretty good point you make there. I've paid eBay scalpers for every purchase from wave 2.5 up and i'd prefer not to do it for army builders. I probably couldn't afford to do it. Great point. ?
  18. Huh, sucks when your comic book memory starts to slip. It's been ages since I read it too, but damn, i'd have bet money on that. Thanks for the clarification. Also, what was the determining factor in going with the yellow costume instead of the buck nekkid version? ?
  19. Packaged shots look great, that red really pops. Very excited to finally have a Silver Samurai minimate. I wish his helmet sat a smidge lower on the head based on the pics that have been shown but honestly don't see how it could've been done. I consider it a necessary evil to get the helmet and shoulder pads done right. Plus it may look better in hand. Mojo and Spiral look pretty terrific too. Glad to have so many villains in a wave. Zach, I gotta ask, what was the determining factor in Wolverine getting the yellow costume as opposed to the brown? I personally associate an arrow filled Wolvie with the Brown suit. Though I'm sure he's been shot full of them a few more times since the Miller mini series. Just curious.
  20. Very cool. One of the last army builders we've never had a shot at. I'd try to aquire quite a few of those. More AIM would be great too and both of their animated looks are pretty close to comic accurate for my tastes. Just to be sure though, I did a quick Google search before posting. One image had the XD logo on the bottom and the Minless ones had their typical pink "cyclops" eye. Another pic showed a horde of them coming out of a portal towards the Avengers and they had a triangular eye that was white or blue. Is pink the norm in that show?
  21. Waking up every morning and looking at my perfect minimate toy shelf?
  22. How do I find thread settings?

  23. Out of those four choices i'm hoping for Man-Thing and Watcher. Man-Thing is the main prize for me though, anyone else is a bonus. Thanks for the update Steve!
  24. Very sad to hear of Dusty's passing. He was one of the greats that made the whole Georgia championship/NWA scene the place to be throughout the 70's and 80's. Hard times indeed now that the American Dream is gone. RIP son of a plumber.
  25. Sorry to hear about your brother Arnim. Condolences to you and your family.
