  1. Hating a fictional alien is in no way similar to real life hate groups that in real life, advocate for the death of certain people. It's lazy and in bad taste. I don't remember the FoH literally wearing white hoods and burning flags, they were more subtle than directly copying something that was singularly used as a symbol of hate and discrimination.
  2. Really? Not sure at all? Because it could be done without directly copying the same posters that advocate for the killing of gay people and the severe discrimination that goes along with it. Posters that say "kill all f***" and "god hates f***" maybe shouldn't be copied. Maybe they could have thought of something less hateful and vile.
  3. Well I'm going to nitpick the movie then. Let's start with Batman literally killing someone by snapping their neck. I mean it's possible that Batman just permanently "disables" him but it looks pretty brutal. Also the guy on the right kinda dancing around and doing nothing is hilarious. Actually at the very end he seems to be turning around to run. Here's some pretty ham-fisted images Snyder throws in your face as if to ask "Haha guys, get it? Do you get it??" 56k warning: The third pic is odd to me because it contains some...parody I guess of anti-gay propaganda that is extremely offensive and I'm not sure was a good choice. Synder just isn't clever and this kinda ruins it for me, he's lazy and there's just weird imagery and things going on for a Batman/Superman movie. I agree it is a family friendly forum but it's pretty much adult collectors here and sometimes f-bombs get dropped by mistake and other things like innuendo or whatever but it's probably nothing you wouldn't hear in a pg-13 movie, which is being discussed here.
  4. These are a home-run and definitely take the sting out of other lines I don't collect.
  5. These taglines are so bad, also the costumes will all be out of date before DST can make even 1/4 of them. Hopefully DST is very careful with these.
  6. To be fair to Chuck, most of the questions are just wants for some new line or property. However the Mass Effect news doesn't bother me even though I'm possibly one of the biggest Mass Effect fans on this board I imagine, I was so underwhelmed by some of the designs I didn't even get one 'mate So what I'm also getting from this is that Wave 60 did ok? Moderate numbers sold because only moderate numbers were shipped then? Hopefully DST waits until this next batch of wave 60 that comes in to really evaluate it. It's the best idea in years, bonus parts make so much difference, especially with a team theme.
  7. I think we can all agree Star Trek is just screaming for extra parts included in each set, if not just head swaps exactly like Wave 60. I can't imagine not thinking that Wave 60 wasn't a huge hit in part because of extra parts. A lot of us would have bought extra sets without the bonus heads and parts, but the fact that DST went out of their way to specifically market the set as including extra parts for casual fans is such a smart move. It also is a no-brainer for Star Trek where uniforms are the norm.
  8. I said previously I really wanted an adult Spidey, at least mid 20's, bigger build and a little more seasoned and confident. I'm concerned that he's a tiny pale child who I can't even picture in the role yet. The best casting choices are usually people you can immediately see in the role, this holds especially true with the MCU. As for Spidey being in high school, what exactly does that add to the movie? Awkward scenes where he's bullied or accidentally reveals his powers? Things we've seen before? Or maybe he can take pictures and we can have another skateboarding montage! Also my biggest fear about this new series is the probability of villains being re-used. I thought I read MCU Spidey has nothing to do with Sony Spidey right? They're not going to throw the Sinister Six at him out of the blue? It doesn't feel like there's a lot of choices left..
  9. Fake picture but hopefully an insight of things to come. Regardless of what he's wearing, he definitely has the look Marvel needs for this character.
  10. So what are the chances that people from 35 years ago are buying this Howard minimate? I mean I usually hear DST talking about recent sales more than anything and if, IF Moon Knight is doing better than Howard, then it would be a strange choice now. I don't care either way about Howard or MK, I guess the cameo for Howard is enough but despite not reading comics recently (I'm working my way from 1939 until present) I do hear talk about MK in other forums I go to, LCS stores I visit. I thought Kostisfire was a crazy person but I guess people are talking about MK a lot after all, at least compared to zero I've heard about Howard.
  11. Well I mean yeah, it's just black and a skull on the shirt or body armor but I can't imagine them NOT having him wear it at any point. Every store I go to and see superhero related clothing, I always see the Punisher skull on hats, shirts and wallets, workout clothing. It's without a doubt in the top 5 iconic superhero logos ever, obviously Marvel knows that. I don't think they'd get such a great actor for the role specifically calling him Punisher and not give him the skull, that'd be almost useless.
  12. I really like the look of these. I hope they keep their sort of bright colors all the way to the final product though, kinda reminds me of 'Best Of'.
  13. One more thing I have to add and it has to be its own post. Zach you said that Gotham has a guy who might be Joker and a guy who might be Scarecrow and that they're teasing a lot? Well Daredevil has a guy that is actually Daredevil and a guy that is actually Punisher, in look AND name for that name recognition that retailers love. They're both going to be in costume, and presumably fight each other and it's going to be huge. It's not a knock or anything, just trying to give DD some praise for doing great stuff where as in my opinion, I can't see Gotham being able to follow. EDIT: Valo, wish I could buy you lunch.
  14. The comparison between Gotham and Daredevil are that both shows were coming down the pipeline last year and highly anticipated. DST put its eggs in the Gotham basket because of ratings numbers? That's the safer bet still? Whatever the reason, it's irrelevant because of Chuck's answers on the subject of DD. How about before DD even being aired though, there was confirmation of Marvel doing multiple shows with multiple characters leading to Defenders? Did Gotham confirm a second season before it aired? Nope. Also don't try and downplay the significance of Daredevil in the MCU, it's HUGE and it means a lot that Marvel has their house in order and can offer fans a richer experience with its heroes. Also Netflix is NOT a new thing, it is literally setting the standard for how we watch tv shows and movies. Their original shows are watched and talked about almost everywhere. I just think it's funny when all these Marvel Netflix shows are done and it's the Defenders and villains and all sorts of goodness, that DST will have missed the boat. We'll be thinking about that old Gotham show that got cancelled years earlier because WE KNOW that Netflix and Marvel are going to keep going forward. Marvel's tv future is more secure than Gotham by far and with the success of DD it's gonna be a fun ride.
  15. Because it's easier to research something like Gotham. Check numbers who'd watch police dramas (lots) plus the success of Arrow and Smallville... It's pretty obvious that unless the show was Seth Macfarlane's Dads awful it'd do well. Whereas Daredevil was the first of its kind in that particular vein of TV. No way to predict how it'd do. You must be confused? Arrow and Smallville were superhero shows, they would have no impact on a police drama. Saying Gotham would be a safer bet because it's a DC property makes no sense given the examples because they're completely different shows with different genres and absolutely no connections between them. Marvel is on an absolute tear, from the start Daredevil had a great cast and connection to the MCU right off the bat. That's a tangible connection, that's something you can actually use for research. Introducing a new show to the fastest growing subscription service, set in an already multi-billion dollar and growing established universe of Marvel films. But Smallville was popular like 5 years ago and some people watch Arrow on CW? That's reliable research?
  16. That's why I'm wondering about Gotham 'mates. If DST agreed to make these before the show aired, then numbers don't mean anything because there wouldn't have been any. So why Gotham and not the better fit in DD?
  17. I have no idea, those aren't my pictures. Just something I randomly found.
  18. Well Gotham City isn't a character. The point I'm making though is that Gotham mates aren't marketable looks for these characters. I'm a huge DC fan but if you put a 2 pack of minimates in front of me from the show Gotham, I'd have a hard time figuring out who they were unless I actively watched the show. I believe more people would absolutely be able to identify Daredevil minimates over Gotham mates because the Gotham mates are not in any way iconic looks. They're all civilian looks, the NAMES are obviously well known but their looks are far from it. Daredevil would more likely be the opposite, even if you haven't seen the new Netflix show, DD in costume with Kingpin, Foggy and Karen would be pretty easy to figure out. I don't buy the argument of just not knowing Netflix numbers, like Netflix is some spooky unknown thing that just popped up. DD is obviously a huge hit and is getting renewed, it's a shame we're not getting Minimates from it. Also you'd think a subscription service with over 60 million members and rising each quarter and posting record stocks and profits would be enough to pull the trigger on merch for a show that fits into other merch the company does. I don't know the details though but I'd have thought DD a way better match for mates, I think a lot of us did.
  19. Probably the closest you'll get to Minimates, I think these fit the license better than 'mates would.
  20. Does anyone know the details on the Gotham 'mates? I'm wondering when DST got the license in relation to Gotham actually airing it's first episode. Gotham has no costumed characters, no big names you'd expect out of the Batman property. Don't say Gordon because if I asked you to name Batman characters, Gordon and 'civilian' or pre-costumed versions of villains would be way out of the way of what almost anyone would name. I bring this up because Daredevil has it's main characters, has 2 costumes for the main character and a villain basically in costume already. Despite DD airing at a later date, these were both in the pipeline around the same time right? I just can't imagine anyone thinking Gotham would make better or more appealing merch than DD? Also I know more people that have Netflix and no cable. Literally every friend I have, and every co-worker I talk to has Netflix but I'd say 75% don't have cable or ota antennas. It just sounds so funny to hear that Netflix as a medium would hold back merch when it should be the opposite.
  21. 30 years of fan adulation and a proven sales record? Anniversary publicity and exposure? DVD availability? An existing licensing agreement? Star Trek? Lmao thank you, I was just about to post that.
  22. I'm on the fence too, while I do have the TRU Bullseye it would be nice to have an updated one. Vulture and Bullseye might work as like mild battle-damaged versions. Then again, I don't want to get stuck with this boxset if we could get clean versions of these two.
  23. Twisted Two-Face is spot on, DD has as much screen-time as any MCU hero. The show is a huge success with critics and fans alike. I wonder if Chuck thought the show would bomb? In any case, I'm just glad I don't collect MCU 'mates because now there would be an unacceptable gap in the collection (even more so than already missing characters).
