  1. Yeah, what Matt said. Start out at the info sites and you should be able to see what you're missing. Dallas Vintage Toys has several WHALE parts for a good price, (they have 12 or so different pieces around 3/4 of the way down on the 1st page)

And ebay has a ton scattered all over the place on price/shipping. But if you can find several from the same seller, then shipping on stuff that light shouldn't be bad to combine.

Kudos to your son for picking out such a cool freaking toy! I didn't really have any of the "big" vehicles from the Joe line when I was a kid, but I did get the WHALE. It was my favorite vehicle then and still is today. The depth charges and little motorcycle thing and the awesome rotating gun turrets... ah, memories.

  2. I feel like we've either gotten Minimates first or have seen previews/been informed of future Minimates releases for all of the Vinimates licenses shown so far. It just seemed like the logical progression given the way that every other license in the Vinimates line has worked. That's why the hard "no" was kind of blindsided me.

Based on Zach's two hints I'm guessing its an X-Men themed boxset. As they say "X Sells".

    - Toad

    - Hoodie Rogue

    - Marvel Girl (Jean Grey)

    - Classic Wheelchair Xavier (Can't think of any other X-Men that haven't been updated/redone)

That would be a hell of a box set.

I prefer to have animated versions of Man-Thing and Squirrel Girl than not having them at all.

Yeah, same here. I think it's great that we are getting animated versions. It's just not the same as getting comic versions. If the Wrecking Crew showed up on one of the current shows and we got animated versions of them in the cartoon-y color schemes, I wouldn't consider that checking them off of the comics version wants list for me.

I hope DST isn't checking off highly-requested characters if they make animated versions of them. That would be very disappointing.

Same here. The Animated line has been cool, but it is very different from the comics based line. Something offered in the Animated style is like something offered in the MCU style. It's cool and has its place in the collection, but it doesn't mix with the different styles.

  6. Frailty is great. It definitely is intense though.

One of the things I learned in reading his obituary is that Paxton came to LA to be a filmmaker, not an actor, and that he made the video for "Fish Heads". People of a certain age know what that is.

Whoa, I didn't know that. How freaking cool!

  7. I honestly don't mean to come across as being whiny about the subject and I certainly don't expect things to be offered up on a silver platter. It's just a matter of this figure seeming to be unreasonable to me. But maybe that's just my knee jerk reaction to it. Hopefully it will end up being available to those that would like to buy one.

Sure would like an Anti Monitor for the comic line.

    That would be pretty sweet!
