  1. A build-a-figure would have a high probability of getting me to buy a set I might not otherwise have picked up. There's money to be made from me, DST!
  2. LOL I does seem like there's been a bit of overreaction and misplaced rage going around lately.
  3. What a great saying. I wish there was a quicker way to say it.
  4. Feet are overrated. I hardly even use mine.
  5. Definitely disappointed by the WD set, even though Zach gave us fair warning. This is basically the only way that I would skip a WD set. I might actually pick up the X-Men set just to use Kitty as a scared zombie victim.
  6. What are you talking about? McIntyre had plenty of chances to show off his technical prowess in between nutshots from El Torito and Hornswaggle.
  7. T-Shirts were a hit. Thanks for the feedback, guys.
  8. For whatever reason, I think folks are taking some comments here a bit more personally more often than in the past, and that leads to more friction. Would be better to discuss these things without getting all worked up IMO, but if folks feel slighted or demeaned or whatever then I can understand it. Though to reiterate a previous point I made here, and one made by Shane recently elsewhere, I suspect some who get defensive are missing the real tone and intention of posts that aren't meant to come off that way. Well, it's pretty obvious you're talking about me. I have never felt so personally attacked. I'm quitting minimates and never coming back here. NEVER! ::runs away crying::
  9. the kingdom of isolation...and it looks like I'm the queen My 5-year-old daughter loves super heroes and zombies, but still found time to memorize pretty much all of Frozen
  10. Is there a reason no one has talked about the new Ask DST? http://www.artasylum.com/2014/06/ask-dst-248-minimates-aplenty/
  11. I really appreciate the thoughts and kind words. I think I'm going to go with #3. It's the one I was leaning towards, probably because it took the most work to complete. I'll probably add some text from the theme song that she made up: "Cheerio, is on a roll, to save the day!" That design wasn't inspired by Super Why, but you guys are right, it definitely is Super Why-like, particularly the head. My wife liked #4, but I think I'm going to do something different with those guys. That might be the greatest super hero name I've ever heard! But, does he bite like a lion, or does he specialize in biting lions? That's a great idea. It would be handy for her to have Cheerios on hand, since she gains a new super power every time she eats Cheerios.
  12. Why are Black Widow and Hawkeye so smiley? I thought Widow was Mary Jane until I saw her body.
  13. Always good to have a job that you like and have interest in. Congratulations.
  14. Sometimes ironic love can transform into true love..... now that I think about it, that's probably how I got married.
  15. I believe Zach already said no Marvel blind bags planned at this time.
  16. Thanks guys. The other 2 characters in #4 are my wife and I. Cheerio named us Mailbox and Net. She gave equally mundane super hero names to the rest of the family as well, such as Bookshelf, Bowling Ball, Window, Lamp, and Tree. Somehow my brother got to be Lightning, I don't how he pulled that one off. I illustrated most of the family in the style of #4 because it's fairly quick and easy to do. I've played with the idea of making everyone a t-shirt with their own likeness, but I don't think I'd have time for that before the party. Unfortunately, I have zero customizing skills. If anyone was taking commissions, I can't imagine a price I wouldn't pay to have a Cheerio minimate, though.
  17. My daughter is turning 5 this weekend. For the last couple of years she has envisioned herself as a super hero named Cheerio. Her party is going to be super hero themed and I wanted to make up some t-shirts for family and friends. I've done a few different versions of her character and right now my wife and I disagree with which one to go with. I'd thought I reach out to this community to get some feedback on which design is best. #1 #2 #3 #4 And just for reference, here's a picture of her in costume at NY Comic Con last year:
  18. Got to admit, they nailed the Uma Thurman likeness though.
  19. I don't want to see X-Men crossover with any other franchises. I enjoy them better on their own. It never made any sense to me that humans would hate and fear mutants, but be fine with altered humans like Cap, Spidey, and FF. Like, why wouldn't Cyclops be like, "What? Mutant? No! It was a freak, optometrist accident. It's cool, I'm not a mutant. No need to hate me."
  20. My daughter is 4 and not quite at reading age yet, but I have been reading with her. Her favorites are Tiny Titans, Teen Titans Go, and Adventure Time. She also likes the graphic novel, Monkey vs. Robot, but honestly it's a bit dark and it's mostly pictures and sound effects with not a lot to really read.
  21. NXT has just about been the only thing I watch, outside of older stuff on the network. Takeover was a great card.
  22. Were they roller skating on the beach? How is that even possible?
  23. I didn't even know that I wanted a full armor Hulk, but now that I've read this thread, I realize that I do.
