  1. Sadly that might be a eBay/PayPal thing. To meet their buyer/seller protection policies everything must have a delivery confirmation number, which for International shipping means Priority or Express Mail. Shipping internationally without a confirmation number creates a nasty loophole where the buyer just has to say they didn't get it and PayPal automatically refunds the buyer even if the seller has their proof of shipping. It's a bummer but it's the beast they've created.
  2. My bad, mis-read that one. You are basically buying a $20 TRU Gift Certificate for $10. Use it toward any purchase of $20 or more.
  3. Just posted this over on the Crisis board, figured it could fit in here too... Groupon deal today: $10 for $20 at TRU! Vaild today at 5pm until 12/24. Good in-store or on-line. Hopefully the AVX box set or Wave 15 will show up before than. Link for those you need...
  4. One of Groupon's deals today is $10 for a $20 certificate to Toys R Us! Vaild from 5pm today (Black Friday) until 12/24... hopefully that's long enough for the AVX box set or next wave of Marvel Minimates to show up! It's good in-store and on-line too. Link: Groupon Woo-hoo! PS: one per person...
  5. According to Bleeding Cool this deal doesn't include distribution rights for the OT or the prequels, they're still under Fox, who do whatever Lucas wants. They spent $4 billion and didn't get the rights to the movies? Madness. Just the film distribution rights, they have the intellectual rights and everything hat comes with the properties. Fox still holds the home video and TV distribution rights. Which at this point have been pretty well tapped out beyond maybe releasing the OT on Bluray...
  6. Being that I used to co-own a shop (where we did carry Minimates) I can tell you that it's the chase variant that's the turn-off for a lot of shop owners on ordering 'mates. Simple problem is that a shop owner does not want left overs on their shelves. A lot of folks like us (collectors) want the complete set of a wave, including the variant/chase. If they are not the first to the shop on release day (tough when you work 9-5) or reserve a set than they just order the wave online. So the shop owner is left with another 2 incomplete sets that may or mat not get picked up here and there by more casual collectors. The big guys like BBTS & Luke who order in volume can order the "god" cases with even ratios of the sets. Makes it hard for the local shop to compete with them. I understand the idea of an incentive for the larger accounts with the "god" cases but I always thought the better discount they get for volume was more than enough. Zach (if your listening), suggesting to Chuck to offer the "god" cases or just making the case ratios even (which I did to him years ago) for the small LCS could go a long way to enticing more local shops to give minimates a chance. Just my $.02 from 8 years as a past retailer. Mojo
  7. If your Hawkeye is anything like mine his legs just barely fit into the boots and do not slide down into them at all, which looks to add at least .25" to him. Plus his mask sits high on his noggin too, adding even a little mote height to him.
  8. You can return them locally but they won't refund the shipping and they will only give you a store credit, not cash back. Even if it's their fault they won't refund shipping at local store. I had TRU send me the wrong item, tried to return it to the local store and was told I would have to call customer service for my shipping refund. Huge pain in the rump because I took the store credit to get the correct item locally.
  9. Has anybody looked for these at their local Big Lots yet? I'm interested in loading up on these but I've only been able to find 1 stand out of the 4 stores that I've tried. Any help would be appreciated. Same thing, only one in the three stores I looked at. Plus the one I found was one of the textured ones, I've been using the solid Expand-A-Shelf racks for years now, that work great. I picked them up from Amazon, The Container Store and eBay once. Cheap, easy to find more to match and the perfect height/depth for minimates. http://www.amazon.com/EXPAND-A-SHELF-01703-Expand-A-Shelf/dp/B000QSDGB6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1344993427&sr=8-4&keywords=expand+a+shelf http://www.containerstore.com/shop/kitchen/cabinetOrganizers/upperCabinets?productId=10000696
  10. Why the logo ones and why so many various logos? Maybe I am wrong here but I am pretty sure most people would rather have an additional character before an Avengers "A" bear.
  11. Argh! Ordered them online this morning only to find a sealed case in store today. Figures… On the plus side, I got to cherry-pick a MODOK with a really nice face tempo. 2 of the 3 were a good bit off so it looks like I will be returning my .com order.
  12. I love these guys! Being a fan of retro and tin space toys and robots I've been on the band wagon since wave 1. I've skipped the con exclusive "phasing" translucent releases but love the fully painted ones. Did you see their display from SDCC this year at the AFX booth? The female astronaut is beautiful! Had a great little chat with Cornboy from the Four Horsemen about them, lot's of love for the line from those guys. Mattel had a vintage Major Matt Nelson (the original space toy line that Outer Space Men admittedly ripped off in the 60's) toy display in their booth this year as well. Toyguru said it was just there to gauge interest. Hoping since their tight with the Four Horsemen that maybe it could become a revival line to compliment the OSM. Toyguru just smiled when I mentioned that idea.
  13. I got a reply today from Brigid, so she is on it. She's sending me a holster for my Hope but no extra legs for my 2 right legged Cyke. Leave the big ol' boot cuffs on him and I can live with it. MoJo
  14. Mine had two right legs. And Hope is missing her gun holster. E-mailed Chris and awaiting a reply as well.
  15. Five points for Gryffindor! I saw pictures elsewhere of people using this tiny Batsignal with 3 3/4" and even 6" figures but when I saw it, I immediately though of Minmates. It's perfect. And I hear you on a Batcave playset. I'm hopeful that they're calling it a playset because they intend to make it out of less expensive plastic rather than polystone or resin, otherwise they'd split hairs and call it a diorama. Playset implies some play feature. Either way I'm sure they'd do a great job but price vs. value is obviously the deciding factor. Check out Barnes & Noble for the Batsignal. After seeing that pic I literally scoured the entire floor at SDCC looking for one and found just that, one for $10. I stop by B&N on Monday and right there on the spinning rack by checkout with the little books and kits is the Batsignal for $10! I talked with the DC Collectibles guys at their booth, target price pint on OA is $150 and that's IF they decide to produce it. It was just there to gauge interest. And look bad ass. That's an awesome deal on those! I use them for my mini mates display in IKEA Billy cases and they are near perfect! I think I paid about $10 a piece from Container Store a few yard ago for them. I might have to suck it up and dredge throughout Big Lots tomorrow and pick up a few more for the future.
  16. Sweet! Thanks for the head's up! My one and only TRU in town got another case of 12 in about a month ago that is just sitting there and I am not in the mood to do the buy out to trigger restock trick. Especially since I have nowhere else to dump them for about 2.5 hours away.
  17. Mini-addict and proud.

  18. Where in “northbay Cali” are you TigerT? I went to the TRU near me and found diddly-poop. (Concord and Pittsburg) Not too far off, I found them in Reno on Friday. We have that big new TRU warehouse here in town so maybe that helps a bit. Of course I ordered mine online last weekend, so I left them there. Saw today TRU has a 10% off all Avengers sale going on this week.
