  1. Any cosplayers here? I'm contemplating growing the chops out and going as Brown Zach.
  2. I didn't want to create an entirely new thread for this but has anyone had success using Lego Minifig heads for minimate customs? I am tempted to use heads from the Chima series as well as the Ninja Turtles lego to make customs. Any experience or advice would be appreciated.
  3. Japanese buyers? Would this information be of interest to DST? I imagine thats an untapped market for them, given the popularity of blind packs and things like Kubricks there?
  4. This may seem odd but I really couldn't think of a better way to thank Luke for everything that he does for the MMMV and Minimate collector community in general. Personally, since I've been following minimates since their inception, just never bought any till a year ago I would have never thought there would be a dedicated ( diversifying now...but still ) non-DST or AA minimate store. I have only bought a handful of toys from Luke's until recently when I caught up on Thundercats and Battle Beasts and I have nothing but amazing things to say about him and his store. In addition to regular retail Luke also goes out of his way to get us access to retailer exclusive items like the stealth Vorin. I really just wanted to say thank you to Luke and thought the rest of you could chime in on your experience with Luke and how lucky we are to have a source like the toy store. *I was not paid for this...lol* THANKS LUKE!
  5. Super excited. Its nice to see that support for the line hasn't waned on here at least, if anything people who didn't expect to buy the line have found themselves with a complete set.
  6. Thank you! I think I've completed the variants but still making sure. From what I can tell, the Jetpack comics variant is the same as the #comicsmarket one
  7. Are we expecting series 2 of the comic to be announced soon? Dates on wave 2? Toy Fair?
  8. ...This + Old School Raw...I'm scared to see the results.
  9. Thanks for the tip! I usually only check the Northside TRUS and they are useless or have minimate buyers who purchase entire cases...I see a wave one day, the next day every minimate in there is gone.
  10. This has thus far gone much better than expected. Has anyone thought about a MMMV member interview series? I would watch/read it.
  11. Dare I ask....any Haven fans here?
  12. Well given the facial expressions from Bryan towards the end of the show, it seems as though he doesn't want to be part of the family and that shortly he will turn face and destroy them from within their ranks. Unless they go all out heel.
  13. Woohoo! Welcome to the pre-owned games club. You should consider playing the new Tomb Raider, its great! Not cheap yet, but not 60.00 either.
  14. I'm looking forward to titanfall and destiny on the 360, I will only upgrade after the first price drop...so glad I waited.
  15. I bought an Xbox 360 on launch day, approximately around the time Gears of War came out I moved and left it behind at the house I was living in at the time. A few years later I purchased a ps3, it was "fun"...but really nothing blew my mind besides XCOM and Skyrim, both of which are multi-platform games. I was on the verge of purchasing an Xbox One with one game and noticed the total including taxes and shipping was an upwards of 600 dollars. To me that is too much for a system that doesn't have any games I want to play on it out YET. Gamestop had a good deal on an Xbox 360...I bought one, and apparently had no idea how many fun games I missed out on. I'm not a pc gamer so I got to play the Witcher 2. I am playing the Fable games, Halo, Gears, Blue Dragon, Alan Wake..I don't know where to begin. Did anyone else go through this...delayed Xbox gratification so to speak? It is a great time to be a gamer with ps3,xbox 360 support at an all time high...even the wii can be had for cheap with quality games. I read an article this morning that says MS is supporting the 360 for the next 3 years with 100 new titles being released. WOOOOO. I had no one to share my joy with, so here you have it. 150 for an Xbox 360 vs 600+ for an Xbox One.
  16. These replies have really help put some of my thoughts in perspective. Its good to know that there are other people who sometimes take a look at their, for lack of a better term, minimate addiction. MMMV does make me feel like much less of a misanthrope. Woop.
  17. This thread is likely to get a rise out of some people, and I apologize in advance. This questions below pertain to myself and are not potshots are anyone. I am a fairly recent toy collector but a life long lurker and window shopper. I started about two years ago with DC minimates. It got a little out of hand, as I did not have anywhere to display all of them, and have a toddler around the house so I just made customs and would put them away in a container. I still continued to collect them, despite it notably not being fun. I almost completed the collection but then got fed up of DC mates for some reason, possibly the lack of new ones or the aesthetic compared to the newer mates. Not sure what happened but anyway, they are now my son's and he loves playing with them and swapping parts. I recently caught up on all battle beasts promos and retail figures as well as the Thundercats series and new View Askew mates. I also ended up ordering 3 minimate carrying cases and it seemed like a good idea. I am not a toy collector who breaks the bank over things so the spending didn't bother me as much as the end game. What am I going to do once I put the minimates in the cases? I love the way the Thundercats look and the details in each figure...but beyond that, am I just going to stare at them? I can't help but continue to collect the lines that I like, but I have questions for you guys. 1.Why do you collect minimates? Especially people with massive collections. 2.How do you enjoy them? Do you play with them, stare at them or customize them? 3. Do you ever have feelings similar to the inarticulate babble I have posted above? 4. Did the loss of gh freak anyone else out, I know a lot of you were great friends with him, but I wasn't and it still bothered me in way I'm not sure how to describe. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
  18. I'm assuming you don't make the 65 mile commute everyday...or do you? Do you ever have luck at any of the TRU's in Chicago? For anything really?
  19. If only you guys knew how excited I was...you'd be slightly disturbed. I AM IN.
  20. Does anyone know where I can get the SDCC 2012 series 1 boxset? I was late on this series, as I am on most toy purchases and am now in desperate search of one. I have found one on Amazon for 99. I realize that's not the greatest source but I have seen nothing on eBay and have no idea what these are going for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  21. I'm assuming its because I don't communicate with anyone from here outside of the forum or that I'm fairly new here but I don't think anyone here is from Chicago? I may be mistaken, but I figured if there was anyway to find out it was to post. A lot of you attend/are attending C2E2 and I'm just too new to the convention scene to know how introductions work but are there any members from Chicago?
