  1. Dino, that song just got 2.7 times sexier for me. Mnemosis, your display is pretty dang unbelievable. Lurch, that penguin needs proton cannons.
  2. I don't like the sound of that. Well, I'm sure there will be a few Avengers in various waves and sets, but we have some themed waves coming up that may not necessarily accommodate a Widow figure.
  3. Great idea for Bag-Man! Not sure when we'll make an original-costume Reed or Johnny next, but I will try to remember to have them add a bag. I will also keep an eye out for tiny 1" by .5" brown paper bags for all of you. And I think Widow is VERY high profile now, but I think we're scaling back on the Avengers for the time being, so it may need to wait. But I want all of those.
  4. WOW! Thanks, guys! Sorry I'm just seeing this -- I rarely make it down to the Minimates Arms section, and I was traveling to the HQ this past week to talk about SDCC, so my time on the boards was spotty at best. The well-wishes are appreciated, and nobody here is annoying. Of the four boards I post on, this is the one I'm on the most, and the one with the nicest people on it. Thanks for putting up with my extended theories about Minimates marketing. I hope the ideas I contributed to some of the upcoming waves make you happy. And that's a great Squirrel Girl, YB!
  5. This is it: He may do an SDCC cover for us, too.
  6. Great Antman pics, Lurch! And I love that Ghost, Mnemosis!
  7. Retailers who buy 10 copies get a free Ulises Farinas variant cover, with the big group battle scene. Luke, you may want to see if you get those, as well as the figures.
  8. Saw your request, not sure we have time to develop at this point. And knowing the tool would never be used again puts a damper on any significant new tooling. I'm sad, too. On the other hand, purple is my favorite color.
  9. Ben Grimm is definitely less recognizable because 1. he's rarely seen, 2. he doesn't have a famous outfit and 3. his big screen counterpart is bald. I think Peter Parker is not distinctively recognizable outside of his jacket-and-camera look, and even then he could be anybody, which is why we package him with his mask on whenever possible. (Or pack him with Spidey, a la the upcoming movie.) So Bag-Man would get the same pop an FF suit Johnny or Ben would: at best, he's a nonspecific FF member.
  10. I considered Weapon X, and while I think we still need one with a helmet (packaged on the side, to show off the hair), I left him off because we already got one in the TTA set. And I consider dogface Wolverine more high-profile than adamantium Wolverine, for longevity alone. Yes, Wolverine is as famous (perhaps even more famous, now) with his mask off as with his mask on, thanks to his hair, muttonchops and Hugh Jackman. Ironically, though, the eyepatch might throw customers off. It's a good disguise after all! I am not the official rule-keeper, but I think anyone in an FF costume is recognizable as an FF member -- including the amazing Bag-Man, BTW. But without indications of their super powers, they lose a lot of their mass appeal. That's why we alternate offering Basic Sue and basic Johnny with powered up versions.
  11. I'll see if I can get some kind of rollout started...
  12. Inside joke? Or did I miss a big kerfuffle about it? I think it's a thing of beauty, although I know people want a non-clear Sue. Heck, I want a white Doom!
  13. I thought about Fang Wolverine, but I'm holding out hope we'll eventually get to Fang. And I actually think about the netting-eyes Wolverine (and leather-jacket Patch) a lot, as I still have four pillowcases from my young adulthood that are entirely made up of panels from Marvel #1s -- Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four and X-Force. (Yes, I have Gideon on my bedsheets.) But as I was never a regular Wolverine reader, I wasn't sure how iconic or long-lived that look was. The Wolverine we used is pretty high-profile, surprised we haven't made it. (Cue one of you guessing the exact look. 3... 2...)
  14. No, we had NO plans for more GR Minimates because of his status. We've only recently started thinking about them again. The characters listed on that page as being mentioned in the story are just coincidence; I think they were a default, not chosen by me or Marvel. I didn't notice it was Johnny when I said they were in the poll; the poll GR is actually Danny. If Poll #1 goes live on schedule, then the next one should follow on Wednesday the 30th, but we'll see. (And, yes, there are three masked Caps around him. I was just trying to be funny/a smart@$$.) Yeah, this set had a LITTLE bit of wiggle room. So he was displayed as the Avengers fpund him in the ice.
  15. Zach, are you able to confirm if DisneyStore.com is truly sold out of stock or if they will be getting more of these? I can certainly ask. It may be like toysrus.com, they just need to request more from a central inventory. I guess this has never come up before? Did Heroic Age ever sell out? I know Future Foundation didn't.
  16. Here's a QC our own Barry Bradfield made up for you guys. Casual Pepper: Luke sells Darkchylde's cutoffs as part of the Femme Fatales set: http://lukestoystore.com/fefase1mibox.html But not Battlestar's TRU D'Anna Biers: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=674&n=D'Anna Or IM2 Pepper Potts, sadly: http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=929&n=Pepper+Potts
  17. Hellpop gets it. Commander Rogers carries a shield, and wears a blue suit, but without the mask, he's not really Captain America -- from a sales perspective. Notice we never package Captain America maskless.
  18. Absolutely. That's the primary reason the figure needs an upgrade, because the old Minimate style was all soft curves, and the new stuff has crisper detail. There have been some legal issues with GR lately, otherwise you would have seen more GRs, but I believe it's been cleared up. And, as I've said, he's in the first poll. ... Which is now going up on Tuesday. Apparently, the glitch is more serious than Marvel.com thought.
  19. I thought it was pretty well-known, but maybe not. I MAY have come up with that one on my own, because I'm BARELY seeing it even mentioned on the Multiverse when I do a search.
  20. Just got bad news, there's apparently a bug in the Marvel.com system, which should be cleared up tomorrow. No poll today.
  21. I'm not sure I've seen the Cap version on any lists, but I may have missed him.
  22. Poll might still go up today, but some last minute tweaks may affect that. I think one of the Marvel.com team is West Coast, so there's hope. A few disclaimers: Old West Ghost Rider is not as recognizable as movie star Ghost Rider. I'd love to see a Minimate of him, but for this poll we only looked at flamey heads. And Commander Rogers is not Captain America. Not that you could tell by looking at him, at least. BUT that doesn't mean he's not in a poll.
  23. This particular fan poll is gonna work exactly like last year's Heralds of Galactus fan poll. No mystery there.
  24. You want us to polybag a comic book... with a Minimate? For Reference... Thundercats Magazine I don't know how they publish a glossy (?) full-color magazine with a packaged (!) Sword of Omens for under five bucks -- can't imagine what kind of numbers Panini publishes of it -- but that's certainly impressive. I'll pass along the suggestion. A comic book plus a sculpted and painted Minimate would probably cost six or seven bucks at least, though. Even if it was a squat, flat, misshapen Minimate like that Sword of Omens. The incentive cover is an old comic book industry staple, that's why we went this route.
