  1. I can stomach the MCU waves, because as an Ultimate Marvel fan, I dig these versions. But they've been mostly the same figs since 2014 or so. And even then, they make mad cash and keep the line going, so I don't have a "problem" with them. It's just that the last few CB waves have been, in my personal opinion and according to my tastes, lackluster as well. I'm someone who's into the Post-2000 costumes, so stuff like GSXM or the Strike Force, don't really excite me. The Brotherhood did, but the X-Men that came with them... not so much. I'd have rathered an update of the Morrison outfits. There are some classics that I like, and for example the BK/Amora pack is great, but I want more... variety. I want more waves like the forthcoming Wolverine one. Now THAT'S a kickass wave. A great army builder, cool Wolvie variants, updates and new characters. TL;DR: I don't like the tights of the 60s and would like to see either more modern costumes from the comics, or more variety when it comes to which corner is tackled. I'm not blaming anyone, it's just what my tastes are like. PS: It may seem as if I don't like the X-Men, but I just don't like getting the same X-Men. I want a new Polaris, a Legion, 90s & 2000s X-Factor, Gladiator, Lilandra, stuff like that. As far as updates of the big names go, I want more modern costumes, and not the old ones.
  2. Yeah, that's true. I like most of the MCU mates, but when we're getting our second version of the Guardians in that form, while we don't have CB versions, it's pretty sad. Plus the 2 Waves of CW. It's just that with the 4-Packs almost gone, the SDCC/NYCC sets getting more underwhelming, the constant MCU waves, the Blind Bags and everything, I'm not really finding much to get excited about in the Marvel line. Even when they do a Wave based on something I should enjoy, the character selection or era is not to my liking. Just a personal opinion, really. It just has to do with me liking other characters. We do need more classic Avengers, hence why I didn't like the recent Wave that much. BK/Amora were a perfect 2-Pack. Tigra I don't like, but she's a new character. Apart from them, the rest could've easily been changed into other Avengers. It's just that the 2 Blizzards & Mandroids were a waste of space for me. It should've been a normal wave with no Army Builders and just Avengers. The Mandroids could've been used in a "Secret" Avengers wave with Modern Mockingbird, an Updated Spider-Woman, stuff like that. It's just that I didn't care about that wave as most folks. Yeah, I'm talking about something similar to 54 as well, not 44 or even Spider-Man's 24 one. W60 was good as far as the Brotherhood goes but... I used the X-Men for customs (part from Forge & Banshee). Axis gave us Kluh & another Carnage instead of Agent of Asgard Loki or Jack O'Lantern, so there were missed oportunities there as well. Secret Wars, well, I've already expressed my feelings about that wave multiple times. Good selection, and a bunch of nice characters, but it wasn't a Secret Wars wave. It didn't feature the main characters of the story. It was just an ANAD Wave with one or two characters from the SW Minis thrown in. I get the why (FF restrictions and all), but as someone who'd been following the Hickman saga since the beginning, to finally get SW mates and for them to essentially be an ANAD Wave, was pretty dissapointing. I still like most of the figs from that wave, but it was just not a SW one. I'm just more of a fan of themed waves and certain eras. So while GSXM is the type of wave I want, it's also focused on characters & costumes I don't care about. It's just how my preferences work, really.
  3. I'm not based in the US, so I'm usually referring to Luke's as far as inventory goes, and the BK/Amora pack got sold out as soon as these got in-stock. It's just that recent releases aren't to my liking. As far as the classics go, I'm mostly a fan of the B/C Listers. And I also like the newer costumes, but we always seem to get the ones that I don't really care about. No All-New NOW! Wave, no ANAD Wave, no NOW! 2.0 Wave, but we got Shanna & the Blind Bags. Just a personal thing, really. Hell, I'm mostly a villain guy anyway, so I'll always gonna be "dissapointed" in a way. Thor has some cool villains, enough for a Wave at least. Dunno, I like them well-enough. I'd prefer the 2008 ones, but considering we'd never get Phylla, Jack and the like, I'd rather complete the NOW! team.
  4. If we're talking a straight-up Supernatural Wave, I'd go with: LCS: Ghost Rider (Blaze & Ketch Parts)/ Blackheart Doctor Strange (Black & Red)/ Clea (Modern) Baron Mordo (Classic)/ Nightmare (Modern) Doctor Voodoo (Modern)/ Mindless one TRU: Daimon hellstrom (Modern)/ Satana Hellstrom (Modern) Chthon (Cthulhu-Version)/ Mephisto (Updated) I just think the whole wave was a waste apart from the Black Knight/Enchantress 2-Pack (which naturally has been sold out and now I can't get it...). I get folks wanted Classic Falcon & Tigra, but the two Blizzards and Mandroids just din't make that wave interesting to me. I would've much rathered a WCA Avengers Wave. Or a New Avengers one. Just something that gives us more characters that we don't have. As for the X-Men, I like most of the costumes Post-2000, but I ain't a fan of the tights. I want a NOW! 4-Pack. Or a redo of the Morrison & Whedon teams. I get people like them, but speaking ppurely for myself, we've gotten none of the modern stuff that I want (Mr. Knight, Reyes GR, etc, etc), nor the classics that I'd prefer (more classic Supernatural & Cosmic stuff). As for Cap, well, there are still many characters out there for a Wave or Two. For Thor the list is big. Spider-Man needs one just for villain redos. I appreciate what the MCU has done, but every day it finds some new way to destroy Marvel, no matter the branch...
  5. The movie costumes are bland though. Even the Mass Effect Uniforms were better, and they seemed like a team, not just a bunch of "A-Holes". The original version of the Post-Annihilation GotG were Cosmic damn heroes, and now they're "loveable scoundrels". I swearto God, the MCU is hurting comic books more than it's helping them... As for the Doc Strange wave, well, for starters, a Strange Wave would be easier to sell than just "Supernatural Marvel". And secondly, most of the supernatural Marvel characters are from the Strange books. Mindless Ones are a must. The Hellstrom twins as well. Doctor Voodoo is needed, like, now. So if you take my line-up, theonly "Strange-Specific" characters are Stephen, Clea, Wong & Mordo, 3 of whom are classic characters that have never had a 'mate. I mean, sure, you could replace Wong with Trenchcoat Blade, Mordo with an updated Ghost Rider, Clea with Elsa Bloodstone, but you'd need Stephen as an anchor. Chthon could become Blackheart, but that'd work in a Strange wave as well. Really, the difference is minimal. To be honest, I'll take ANYTHING that's not related to X-Men & Nostalgic Avengers. Give me an Iron Man wave, a Cap wave, a Thor wave, hell, a Spider-Man wave! I could've done without Blizzard, Mandroids, Tigra, Classic Falcon, all of the GSXM wave, the 90s Uniforms X-Men and the two CW waves.
  6. 10 eps is perfect. Hell, 8 would do. I'd prefer a tighter story than a looooooonger show that draaaaaaaags ooooooooooon.
  7. I still haven't finished LC... Just my personal opinion, but the Netflix shows got progressively worse, rathern than better. DDS2 had Punisher, but the rest was rather uninspired. LC had the good first half and then... JJ was did the whole "Killgrave escaped at the last minute" thing 2 or 3 times. 13 episodes is just too long. I do think Iron Fist will be better though. If anything, it'll be full of martial arts, mysticism and alien ninjas. It's just oo good to fail.
  8. The MCU Waves and the lack of 4-Packs are really hurting the releases of new comic mates. Oh, and here's my unpopular opinion: GSXM was a wasted wave and a comic GotG one for example would've been much better. IMO always...
  9. Guess what the Marvel Select line is getting: More pics here: ArtAsylum Can we get a GotG Minimates Wave now? I'd vastly prefer the 2008 versions, but at this point, I don't really care. I just want comic styled Guardians mates. Hell, we already have the secondary members of the modern team (Angela, Iron Man & Space Knight Venom)! NOW! Groot (with those weird "arc-reactors" from the early days of the book)/ NOW! Rocket Racoon (Mass Effect Uni) NOW! Drax (the one from the pic)/ NOW! Gamora (the one from the pic) NOW! Star-Lord (the one with the Gatchaman helmet)/ Badoon Soldier NOW! 2.0 Star-Lord (the recent Kris Anka redesign)/ Badoon Soldier You could add a TRU 2-Pack or two, but just this LCS wave would be enough. I mean, it's been, what, 2.5 years since the Movie Wave? And now we're getting MCU Guardians again, which, while they look cool and all, I'll skip just like I did the first one. The costumes just aren't that interesting. I mean, with a Telltale game coming, and with the rumour that the game Eidos Montral is working on is a GotG one, I think we need some comic mates. And since we're on the subject of MCU mates without comic counterparts, a Doctor Strange Wave could be really interesting. LCS: Doctor Strange (Black & Red Outfit)/ Wong (Classic) Baron Mordo (Classic)/ Doctor Voodoo (Modern) Clea (Modern)/ Nightmare (Modern) Chthon (Modern, Chtulhu-esque makeover)/ Mindless One TRU: Daimon Hellstrom (Modern)/ Satana Hellstrom (Modern)
  10. That was a sad Easter... Dunno, I always thought they had a certain... charm. Looking back they were rather ugly, but I have fond memories of them, mostly due to the overly sculpted (but brittle) pieces. From what I've seen, they'v improved, as the CoD figures especially are quite well made.
  11. "Funny" Story: Back in 2008 or so, I bought the "Siege of the Flying Dutchman" set for Easter, which included the Pearl, the Dutchman, some small sets and most of the major characters. I was really, really looking forward to it. Until, one day, while I was at school, it arrived! My mum received it, and when I got home there it was! Weird thing was, the box was too small. I figured, "maybe he shipped it loose". Then, I noticed the two huge holes on the top of the box... Needles to say, the ships weren't there. Instead, they sent me stacks of papers from the Red Cross, some Check-Books or something, stuff like that. So, yeah, my Easter was ruined, and I lost about 200 euros that I'd been saving for a while. Ebay never gave me my money back, and neither did I get a replacement. Worst thing is, these ships cost about 400$ each now... I bought the Empress a few years later from a shop in Thessaloniki, but it closed before I managed to buy the Kraken set with Jack. Eventually I used that ship for scraps, because, honestly, what was the point of having the Empress and none of the major PotC characters as figurines? Although, Lego released a Pearl a few years ago, and they'll be releasing a Dutchman, so there's that choice if you're interested. Or you could look for those big 80$ plastic Pearl & Dutchman ships that worked with the 3.75" figs that were released alongside the movies. PS: I had a small Pearl from the DMC line, which had small, static Jack & Will figurines. It was about, what, 6" long or so. I really liked that little ship. Dunno how it ended up though. I think it broke in the end.
  12. They'd be cool, but dunno about the sales. I mean, most of the characters would be Generic [Insert "Occupation"/Trait here]. Diablo would make for some great figs as well, but I doubt that's what Zach meant when he said evergreen. Same goes for Starcraft. Warcraft is a huuuuge IP, but dunno how well figures would sell. WoW players ain't exactly the average consumer, and the majority of characters past Arthas and the like are relatively unknown. Devil May Cry could work though.
  13. One license that hasn't been mentioned yet has been Elder Scrolls, and using the same logic (no new games, well-known, etc) you could add Fallout. There aren't a whole lot of "protagonists" in the classical sense in those games, but there are tons of characters and costume variations. Dunno how well they'd actually sell, but it's a posibillity. Skyrim was still selling copies last time I checked.
  14. Bioshock could produce a couple of Waves, but it'd need lots of new sculpts, and they'd be mostly enemies and secondary characters. Booker, Elizabeth, Big Daddy & Little Sister are the "faces" of the franchise. The NECA figs did okay, but not really great. Dead Space died down after 3, because it became too action-y and lost the horror audience. Apart from Isaac's suits, it doesn't have lots of characters options. It'd be cool for the Necros alone, but I don't think it's evergreen. GTA could certainly work, but it'd be filled mostly with civilians, and these lines haven't done as well. To be fair though, GTA would be diffferent, and the acessories could really make those sets pop. I'd say this is a pretty good guess. Oh yeah. Since Wildlands is getting released this year, that means it's out. Eh, considering the comic line has stopped, I don't see them going after the game. With both MK & AC being crossed off, this is getting harder and harder.
  15. Hmm, guess I'm gonna have to watch some walkthroughs first. Thanks for the info!
  16. Well then, I'm stumped. There are a few more "evergreen" franchises I can think of, but I'm not sure they fit the clues. 1) Halo: Well, we had Halo mates until a few years ago, so I don't see them returning. 2) Gears of War: New game came out in 2016, so it's out. 3) Nintendo: They're notoriusly picky when it comes to licensing, so dunno. It could work similar to the Playstation line. 4) Call of Duty: It's a game that's released every year, so, it's out. 5) Street Fighter: V came out this year, so that's out to. 6) Tomb Raider: We already had mates based on the first game, and the sequel got released this year, so that's out too. 7) Mortal Kombat: Already confirmed to not be. 8) God of War: No release date yet, but a new game is coming. 9) Resident Evil: A new game just came out, so that's out. 10) Valve: Well, considering they're making mad cash from Steam, there's no way they'll be releasing any games soon. It could work like the Playstation line, 11) Tom Clancy's [...] : Admitedly, I've never played the games, but they're mostly millitary guys and civilians, plus, a new game hasn't come out in ages. 12) Metal Gear: Phantom Pain came out in 2015, but there is that Zombie "mini-game" (Konami admitted that it won't be a full priced MG title) coming out... some day. There are other stuff like Castlevania, Kingdom Hearts and the like, but dunno if I'd call them evergreen or be able to imagine toys based on them. At this point, God of War & MGS seem the most possible, but dunno. I'd certainly be happy if it was just one of them. As for the new movie license I have no clue, and as for the extension, like Trev, I'm hoping it's a CW license.
  17. I haven't played (and I mean really played) a video game in what, 2 or 3 years now. Mostly due to time constraints, really. I'm not a horror guylike, at all, but RE7 intrigued me. Maybe I'll try it when I inevitably get a PS4 for the exclusives (mostly for Insomniac's Spider-Man tbh). I guess I could try it for the PC,but from what I know, it's relatively short, so I'm not gonna be spending 50 bucks on it. Generally though, is it scary in a "jump scare!gore!guts!" way, or is it mostly atmospheric?
  18. I hope it's not an MMO, and it's a Third-Person Action Game with RPG elements, like Tomb Raider and Deus Ex (Crystal Dynamics' & Eidos Montreals' previous games, respectively). To be fair though, I think a team-based game is a mistake, as a solo one would've been better IMO. Still, I'm very excited about this! Between Insomniac's Spider-Man, Telltale's GotG, this and MvC, Marvel is really stepping up their VG game. And it's nice that they're diversifying, whereas DC keeps making Batman games (Arkham, Arkham Prequels, Telltale Batman, Arkham Sequel/Damian Game, and a Batman-centric Injustice). If only they could fix their comics division now... PS: If you ask me, I'd love to see a Moon Knight game akin to Rocksteady's L.A. Noire. Or a Doctor Strange game that's a mix between Bayonetta/DMC & Dark Souls. Or...
  19. A quick google search says that yes, he did wear the Symbiote. I'd also take a new one, as the W43 one wasn't up to my tastes (I prefer lots of muscle detailing).
  20. No Moon Knight, again... I'll take any Spidey villains though.
  21. Fassbender has been doing great flicks the last few years. Hunger, Shame, Steve Jobs, MacBeth, the man is one of the modern greats IMO. He's definitely one of my favourites. Well, teens/young adults are the backbone of the gaming community, and AC is really well-known. I get debating whether the toys would sell, but the IP itself is amongst the most well-known modern gaming brands. Hype has died down though, that's true. but that's mostly because they turned it into CoD. After Revelations, the historical innacuracies became too much, the games became too buggy, and they just didn't feel complete.
  22. Re: "Revealed" Zach was talking about the movie licenses, which have been revealed as Dark Tower & PotC. It'll be a long while before we see the VG license. Re: AC I get all your points, and it could easily go the way of ME. But dunno, I think it could work a bit like Halo, and go on for a couple of years.
  23. Eh, I doubt they're ever gonna use Cleopatra in a game, as they're mostly moving forwards as the game go back. As for GoW, it has some neat designs, but it's a finite line. Although with GoW IV, more characters could be added. Anyway, it's surely not GoW as a new game is coming out, so I'm gonna go with AC for the time being. And like I said, historical bias aside, the games are fun, feature lots of historical figures, and have nice designs. What's not to love? A Kenway would go great with the POTC & Calico mates.
  24. Syndicate alone could give us Karl Marx, Charles Darwin & Charles Dickens. Sad thing is, many other such as Alexander the Great, Cleopatra or Julius Caesar where just mentioned and not shown, so we can't really get them. But if the VG license is AC, and it's handled correctly, it's got tons of potential. But I agree, if they go with BB, I'll have to skip, just like with Aliens & Predator. As for the games themselves, I was always interested in them, and almost finished II, but caved in with Revelations, due to the setting being Constantinopole. But the story was extremely one-sided and insulting at times, so it left a sour taste in my mouth. Historical innacuracies aside, it didn't even make sense from a logical standpoint. As I got back and started looking at the other games with more attention, I noticed that they were very "black & white", painting one side as monsters and the other as saints, so I never really made it an attempt to get to play them again. I might will at some point though, as the gameplay is pretty fun.
