ST Wave 2 Minimates this week?
Kirby replied to captain_cbecker's topic in TV, Movie, & Video Game Minimates
Got my list today - no Trek -
Quick question, and I hate to give away my idea, but are there any impositions regarding nudity? I don't think I'd really follow through on that idea, but inquiring minds and all that

Tired of recycling parts for your customs? Make your own!
Kirby replied to Lobsterman's topic in Crisis of Infinite Minimates
Yes... Care to share? All I can think about is a regular minimate, "Scale 1000%," send it in -
Comic Day is Wednesday. They will be here soon, kids.

I guess that confirms that West Coast Wins Again! Muahahahaha That'd be a nice change... I could use a minimate fix or two! I'm still trying to figure out this West Coast thing - since it's on the ship list for the LCS that Storm goes to, it may show up this week, even if it's not on the DST ship list? Is that how it works? Storm, are you West Coast? I think the trick is that us West Coasters get them a week early. So that is pretty much how it works.

The shipping list is what Diamond is supposed to be shipping out to the comic shops across the US each week. However, there is some discrepancy as far as the West Coast typically getting Minimates a week before they get shipped to everyone else. This has been going on the whole time. The comic shop I do work for is good about ordering most anything minimates (and they are big 24 fans, so I don't think the missed these) and they are not coming in to our shop this week.

Fun list. It is good to see someone doesn't forget LotR 'mates Xevoz and Stikfas get their due. Space Ghost as #5 makes me smile. I think you could debate the whole list, except #1. THE toy everyone should own. Thanks for the link

Star Trek TOS Series 1 Production Run
Kirby replied to die_fliedermaus's topic in TV, Movie, & Video Game Minimates
I don't think those numbers necessarily represent the actual product run. I had the same experience with buying cases of SOTA figures, and I asked the same question. If I remember, that number is just for when it comes to shipping and distribution. I would venture that is the case here as well (excuse the pun). -

Who's cuisine will reign supreme?!

I just submitted my entry. Team "Hardcore Gorn" lived up to its name - I'll be lucky if I'm not banned after some of the pictures :o I feel like I should repeat the ACROSS motto: Lie Cheat Wheedle Steal It's been fun.

New Target MiniMates delivery & possible DPCI code
Kirby replied to Will Work 4 Mates's topic in Marvel Minimates
Didn't they say that after 3" Trek as well? -
Sigh. The whole point is that they are NOT licensed - these are made by their creator, in his vision, for the sake of making toys that are fun and original. They are not supposed to take off - they are meant to be played with and enjoyed. I don't mean to attack you, but I think you've completely missed the point. These are more influenced by Micromen anyway. I really want some. The DX and Toybuzz are lit up about these guys right now.

My feeling on the matter is that it comes down to money. Lucas wants a piece, Hasbro wants a piece, everybody wants their piece. This business is fun, but it is still business, which means money, which means that if DST won't make enough money, then it isn't worth it. Sure, Star Wars will sell pretty well, but will it sell enough? And that question probably can't even be asked, because somebody at Hasbro is thinking up some way to make that money for themselves. The day that we see some sort of knock-block-figure from Hasbro is the day we know that Minimates have truly made it.

Star Trek and BSG2 Minimates Today
Kirby replied to Kirby's topic in TV, Movie, & Video Game Minimates
Something came up and I won't be able to hit the ship 'til Fri. But I'll post pics when I get 'em. What can I say; so many women, so little time.
