  1. I use Humbrol enamels, they're more akin to airfix modelling, but they work well. I always found that the citadel paints restricted poseability? The joints tend to chip with that paint, but then I never thinned mine. A radiator's a good place to dry enamel paint, pretty quickly you can add another coat if needed. I'm interested in your decal work too, I'd like to get your thought...

  2. Thanks for the note! I do use Citadel paints (as well as some other brands like Apple Barrel & Liquitex) and yes, they are kinda thick. I like to thin them down with a little water - it leads to more coats, but I get a better result. I'm scared to work with enamels - the clean-up & drying time seem like a hassle to me. I have to admire anyone who works with them!

    And th...

  3. Here's another quick custom. Kryptonian Life Suit Superman.
  4. Just in time for this weekend, here's my additions to the Corps! A few are based on comic Green Lanterns, the rest are my creations. Special mentions go to Sodam Yat(2nd row left) Stel(back row 2nd right) & Varix, now an Alpha Lantern(2nd row right) The other non-official GL's need names & back stories, but I havn't came up with them yet! See what you think?
  5. Hi, cheers for your comments on my customs,I've long been a fan of your work. I notice you use Citadel paints? Do you not find they are too thick? I started out using them, but changed to Humbrol Enamel tins. I find you maybe need a few coats, but the end result is more crisp.Saying that, some of the Citadel colours are just right. Thanks again.Gary

  6. Thanks a lot. It's always annoyed me how the Marvel minis don't use the bigger scale, so the Iron Monger just needed the right coat of paint. I'm an FF fan & had a spare Deathstroke head, so he went from there. Thanks a lot, compliments from a master! You've inspired some of mine, so thank you. The Kryptonians came about while reading "World of New Krypton" as the costumes in it were similar to the X-Force Wolverine, so they did themselves really. The extra parts is just my stamp on them. Iron Monger was there, waiting to come out, he just needed a shove!
  7. Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. Some easier than others. I've got a few more to post in this thread, see what you think of those? Thanks! Kristoff just popped into my head after reading FF. I'm workin on a 90's version, just waiting on the figure I need for parts(although I could post a photo using what I've got,see what you think?) Here's a few more of my customs. Thanks for all the feedback, see what you make of these. Some DC's again(only do obscure Marvel characters) This lot: 90's Kristoff Vernard. Kryptonian Villains Max Lord,Amazo Enchantress,Don Blake Spec Ops Moon Knight,Solo Paladin,Baron Von Strucker,Agent 13 Isiah Bradley,Commander Rogers,John Steele
  8. I took your advice & rephotographed my customs & posted them in the custom thread. Hopefully they're an improvement. Thanks for your input, it's greatly appreciated.

  9. Ha! Thanks. Just taking the advice I got earlier(hopefully) I wish I'd posted these sooner, never had the guts. I'm glad of the feedback though. Cheers for looking.
  10. Here's a few more: Iron Spider attachment/Steel Spider.Modern Red Hood/Oracle.Doom 2099.Captain Caledonia(my addition to the Capt. Britain Corps) Cheers. 1st:Cyclops,Invaders Cap Head cut & painted. Cap shield cut & painted. Not nimble-fingered enough to do the proper DC Guardian's shield! Red was Crimson Dynamo,Cap shield,Kree. Thanks a lot. Thanks. Nope, Battle-Damaged Superman,Black Bolt Head. Cant do water slides or anything like that, so it's parts & pain for me.
  11. From left to right: Guardian,Superman Robot,Eradicator,Atlas Jason Todd as Hush 90's Rip Hunter "Insider" Batman Comic Iron Monger Red Guardian Cyborg Kristoff Vernard 90's Nathaniel Richards Waverider Earth 2 Lex Alpha-Centurion,Modern Phantom Stranger,Captain Atom Red Norvell Thor
  12. Tried to listen to advice from Bob Harris, so I've reposted the customs I've done in the past year. Mostly DC's, any queries, thoughts, let me know.
  13. Thanks for the advice Bob, I'll get the hang of posting etc & photographs. As long as my rubbish photography doesn't detract from the minis. That was the reference I had for Rip, from the DC Encyclopedia. In continuity now he's a normal guy, but back in the 90's Dan Jurgens designed the Linear Men as time travellers, ravaged by multiple journeys through time, hence cyborg parts. The shoulders are Crimson Dynamo. The Red Norvell was a real labour of love for me, so thanks a lot!
  14. Recently put up my first posts so feel free to give me feedback.
