  1. The only thing that keeps me from getting that excited yet about DC minimates is the fact that even now, nothing is in the works. "Never say never" is a better answer than "Abandon all hope," but DC seems to be slowly giving more and more opportunities to DST, at this point it feels almost like "Green light or get off the pot" with DC. I don't blame DST at all, they'd likely never have stopped the original DC 'mates if they didn't have to, at this point what more does DC need? They know the demand is there, Marvel shows the format has legs, other than making things deliberately difficult for themselves which is becoming their modus opperandi as of late, what more do they need?
  2. I would be absolutely thrilled to see DC 'mates return, I think it would also revive my passion for 'mates that hasn't been as strong as of late. And while I would definitely get 'mates from every form of DC media and print, I do hope that they don't take the approach of mixing them all together in one line right away, that approach seems like it would take years to really get a strong group of DC characters from any one license, let alone four different branches of the same. All of the possibilities features dozens of characters, and in a 8 'mate wave, it would be a long, long time before you can really fill out a display for games, movies, toys and comics, and may lead some more casual buyers to pick and choose instead of going all in on the line. Either way, I hope they're back.
  3. Go insane, go insane, throw some glitter, make it rain!!!
  4. I'll definitely get these, and I'm excited to add Spider-Man characters to the MCU 'mates, but there's no real WHOA character in this. I'll probably feel differently once we can actually see them.
  5. I love Blizzard, ever since I saw him in a Spider-Man comic, until I saw him in the old Toybiz Iron Man line I thought he was a Spidey villain actually, but his design always popped for me. And I think these more eclectic second tier villains add so much to a Marvel display, years ago it was always a dozen Spidey villains, Dr. Doom and some Brotherhood members. Now we have people from so many different corners. There are still holes in some classic villain teams but those teams used to be nonexistent, now they do and are growing.
  6. I liked Miles a lot more when he was allowed to be the Spider-Man of an alternate continuity, where he could be anything without restriction because it was his world. Now that's he's part of the mainstream Marvel continuity, I really don't have much use for him. I'm never going to want anyone else other than Peter Parker as Spider-Man, not Miles, not Ben Reilly, no one. I think Marvel is being incredibly short-sighted with all the changes they're making, and I don't even hear people talking about Miles much anymore. Marvel gets the ability to use their biggest character in the MCU, but they're utilizing elements from a version of the character that pretty much fizzled out a few years ago, I question if they're focusing on the long term or trying to capitalize on a modicum of chatter online from a lot of people who don't even know who Miles is, but still think he should replace Peter Parker. Why not make a Sony exclusive film series set several years from now where Miles becomes Spider-Man and give him his own continuity to flourish in, a Batman Beyond type of approach? Make it animated, or don't. But if they think they can replace Peter and the world at large won't mind, I think they're going to regret it. And to answer your question Zach, the Raimi Spider-Man movies are corny beyond belief, 2 is good enough to overcome it but 1 & 3 are cringeworthy. ASM wasn't what it should have been but I was very forgiving because I really liked Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, but then they learned nothing from the mistakes they made and made new ones, so that series isn't any better. I'm sure the Raimi comments will do me no favors, but I remember seeing it opening night and being so disappointed, and wondering what everyone else was talking about that I didn't see.
  7. I love RDJ's Iron Man, but I hope he's only suited up for a chat with Spider-Man, I don't want him to assist in the final showdown with Vulture, I don't want Spidey to start seeming like a secondary character to the Avengers. Don't get me wrong, the movie looks great and I can't wait to see it, but there was a surprising amount of Iron Man in the trailer, when I don't think Spider-Man really needs the help, he just needs to have a solid movie to remind everyone why he's Marvel's top character.
  8. The problem is all of mine have some, but it's Wave 1 or 2.
  9. I'm torn, they're one of the bigger corners of the MU to get very little attention, but if we only get them because of the show I'm not sure where that leaves the comic versions. We have gotten animated and movie GOTG but still no comic versions, except Gamora. I can live with that since they're fairly close to their comic versions, but the Inhumans may be more of a reinvention.
  10. Jessica Jones up on TRU.com http://m.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=99499036
  11. I would like the Venom Wolverine a lot more if they had gone with a completely transformed version. I know they were basing it off of a cover, and I think it's still cool looking, but I can't really think of what to do with a half-Venom Wolverine.
  12. Mister Fear Gladiator Mr. Hyde Styx and Stone The Owl. I know he's been mentioned already, but I'd like to underline it.
  13. Woohoo!! We've seen the yay shots of DD but there's also a photo of the Jessica Jones set in box floating around, is DD still coming out first or will they drop at the same time?
  14. Are Luke Cage and Iron Fist definitely in the plans now, or is it a case by case basis?
  15. Has there been any news from Luke? I pre-ordered mine from him a while back but haven't read anything since. I'm getting jealous, everyone else has theirs!! Haha
  16. I can get Wave 2 and Crossbones/Hawkeye for anyone if they need them.
  17. I look at animated 'mates as a seperate group like the Marvel movie waves, but considering they're all built on the same bodies, I can utilize a character that we only have in animated or movie style as the default version until another one is made. I used movie Odin until the comic style one was made the same way. And if it weren't for Steven Anne deciding to have the poll, we wouldn't be debating the viability of Squirrel Girl or Man-Thing at all, so I try to view the animated 'mates as a supplemental line. We still don't have comic versions of the Guardians of the Galaxy, but we have movie and animated versions. Your mileage may vary.
  18. That's why I started preordering from Entertainment Earth, you pay pretty much retail with free shipping, saves having to always check local stores. Even when mine don't have heavy stock they sometimes don't get new waves in for weeks.
  19. IT HAS BEGUN!! http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/live-updates-from-collectdst-minimates-panel/
  20. When is the panel? I think in previous years it was pretty late in the schedule.
  21. Based on a few comments I've seen, I think it bears repeating that nothing in the View Askew/Kevin Smith license has any impact on getting something from Marvel or getting more DC 'mates, it doesn't work that way.
  22. Was I the only one who was a little sad that when they go to The Raft, there weren't any cameos? Granted, Marvel doesn't let many villains live to see incarceration, but I held out hope we might see Abomination since Ross returned. That's another thing, I'm glad they're including Hulk characters again, but it felt like it could have been anyone, I was surprised that Ross didn't seem to be there for a real reason. Not complaining, just thought it was going to end up meaning more.
  23. Nothing again in Virginia today. Which should come as no surprise, it's not like Toys "R" Us or DST are in the business to make money or anything.
