  1. While I like the idea of Spidey sets, I'd have to say I'd rather see a series with Spidey and a Villain more than just more a pack fo all Spidey. Amazing vs Kraven Ultimate (With Tendril Arm Attachments) vs Lady Doc Ock Noir vs Noir Goblin 2099 vs Hobgoblin 2099 But that's just me! neo
  2. Yeah, you know I used to have a GameFly account. It expired in June of this year, and since there were no games worth playing then I didn't bother to restart it. So I rode down to Blockbuster yesterday just to see about renting this one game. However, it's $8 at Blockbuster to rent a game for 5 days. SHEEZ!! I can pay $15 and get unlimited games for the month and keep them as long as I want. So I think I'm just going to start my GameFly again, it's holiday season anyway so there will be plenty to play. I also keep about $70 always on my GameStop card. So I can pick up a used game and play it for 7 days and then return it and get my full credit back. It's like renting a game for free! However, they have yet to get a used copy in.....but I'm checking daily . neo
  3. Well, this game has been out several days now. So, what are people thinking? Since it's not an open world game I am hesitant to spend the full $60 on it, but I still am really interested. Is anyone enjoying the game?! neo
  4. I don't have NCAA, but if you play Madden I'm an avid player! I am actually really looking forward to the Playstation Move. It drops a week from Sunday. I already have it reserved. It comes with Sports Champions and I'm going to pick up Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest and possibly Eyepet. I will give all you guys my impressions in a couple weeks. In the meantime, I came into some PSN Money and have been exploring the store. I picked up Castle Crashers first. While I played a bit of it on XBLA I never beat it, so I'm going to play again. It's been said on here previously and I will echo Nestle again, Scott Pilgrim is good......but Castle Crashers is SO much better! I really love this game. I also downloaded Deathspank. Again, if anyone on here reads my posts you will know that I'm a huge advocate for the Arcade titles. I skipped Deathspank a few weeks ago mainly because of money. Going back though I'm glad I picked it up. It's actually a really fun, customizable loot drop experience that I'm enjoying. The best part though is the writing......."I once danced with the devil in the pale moon light.......and he has one h*ll of a Lambada". Anyway, I'm having a blast with it. Also, there are several Arcade titles coming up that I'm really looking forward too as well. Worms 2 comes to PSN next week. In two weeks we are getting Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (with Online!). In October they are releasing Costume Quest. And, by the end of the year, Exsplodemon, Back to the Future, Sonic 4, and hopefully Mega Man Universe! Good times on the Arcade Front. With those games, Move, and Mass Effect 2 in Feb, it's going to be a busy holiday! neo
  5. My buy list is: [Retail] -Playstation Move (w/Sports Champions) -Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest (PS3) -LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (PS3) -Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3) -The Sly Cooper Collection (PS3) [PSN] -Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light -Back to the Future -Jurrasic Park -Comic Jumper -Explodemon -Costume Quest I also get games from my family for Christmas, that list looks like this: -Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3) -Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (PS3) -Uncharted 2 (PS3) And Finally, I'm really interested Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, but I will rent it first. The game is not open world so it may be very linear and short, so I won't invest $60 until I see how deep and long it may be. I did the same thing with Batman: Arkaham Asylum, I loved that game, but I GameFly'd it and beat it in less than a week so I didn't feel the need to purchase it. neo
  6. I honestly can't wait for this game. Anyone who knows me knows I've a huge advocate for the Digital Distribution, especially Arcade titles. The game is being done by TellTale so I'm really excited. The artwork looks great and Christopher Llyod being involved is huge. Plus is it confirmed that the Delorean will be in the game (an instant download for that fact alone). If they license Huey Lewis's Power of Love this will be Game of the Year right now! neo
  7. Ah, Goldeneye.....how I miss those college dorm all nighters!! Anyway, I picked up Ultimate Spider-Man Total Mayhem yesterday on the App Store. IT IS AMAZING!! Comic inspired Cut Scenes with full Voice Acting. Action is fluid and the game looks beautiful! It's linear, no open world for the iPhone, but you can still swing around the stage. I think there are 12 levels in all, probably won't take more for several hours to beat, but I am loving every bit of it. There are tons of hidden items, like over 100 comic covers to collect. Plus you can upgrade in minor RPG fashion. It is clearly the best Action game on the iPhone I've ever played. If you have an iPhone/iPod Touch you should look at it. It's $7, but work more than some of the recent games I've dropped $50 or $60 on. neo
  8. Well, it's that time of year. September always kicks off the season of games. There are quite a few games coming out this holiday. Just to name a few you have Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Medal of Honor, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Need for Speed: Playstation Move, Microsoft Kinect, Fable III, Fallout New Vegas, Gran Turismo 5.....and there are still plenty more. So, what is on your list for this year? neo
  9. Yeah, that "Pooping Deer" blew my mind!
  10. Those are my angry eyes! I actually agree with you Nestle (shocker, I Know). While Scott Pilgrim is one of the best games on the PSN, it doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Castle Crashers or even the Classic TMNT Arcade game. You are correct when saying Awesome on the PS3 is not the same as the 360. This has had to be my biggest issue with going PS3 exclusive. The Xbox Live Arcade is night and day better in every capacity to the PSN. Castle Crashers, Shadow Complex, Splosion Man, Worms 2, Trials HD, Limbo, and Toy Soliders are some of the best downloadable games every.......and I would say Shadow Complex is one of the best games of this generation period! MS really knows how to push the downloadable market, and when I had my Xbox I would say at least 70% of my times was spent on Arcade titles. Now, that being said, I think Sony is finally getting the point. They have brought over games like Braid and now Castle Crashers. We are also getting Lara Croft and we got Scott Pilgrim first. So the PSN is coming around. To it's credit, the PSN has several very solid exclusives such as Super Stardust HD, Joe Danger, The Last Man, and the PixelJunk Games. But they still have a long time to go. So, I say play Scott Pilgrim because it is a very good game, but if you are PS3 exclusive, you need to pick up Castle Crashers today........a year later it's still one of the best downloadable games on the market! And finally, to close I've spent most of my time lately playing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Madden. I finally beat Star Wars over the weekend. I skipped the game the first time and now I can't believe that I did. That game was really good and I loved the story. It has gotten me back into Star Wars mode which I had been out of for quite some time. In fact yesterday I started watching the original trilogy again with my Daughter......Good times! As for Madden, I still love it. It's football and if you are not a football and madden fan you can't understand, but every year I still get a kick out of playing some football (no pun intended!). And, in retrospect to Nestle, I've actually not played Scott Pilgrim in several days. I played so much when it came out that I kinda burned out quick. I'm sure I'll get back into it, but with Castle Crashers coming it may be a while! neo
  11. Yeah, the Punch Out route would have worked nicely. Or, even seperate it by difficulty. Easy would be continue anywhere, Normal would be like Punch Out, and Hard would be like it is now. But, nevertheless it is how it is. Even with that minor complaint I still love it. And I agree, I would have probably beaten the game already if it wasn't the way it is, but since it is I'm still working on level 4.....and loving every minute . neo
  12. Well, I had a decent Game weekend. I played quite a bit more of Scott Pilgrim, I am loving that game. I do finally have 1 complaint though, if you run out of lives you start over at the beginning. I like the more classic model, as in TMNT Arcade, where you can continue and jump right back where you left off. While that is not popular for the hardcore crowd, it's better for me . But as I level up I get further and further, which I guess is the point! I also started my annual Franchises in Madden. I always take the Jags (Hometown team) and the Cowboys (Team Previous to Jags, and current residence). First thing I did with the Jags was trade my back up QB and a 1st round pick to the Broncos for Tim Tebow. He's a hometown hero and I had to see him throwing for the Jags. I played my first week with both teams and both won, although the Boys verses the Skins came close with McNabb leading them now. Still, I love this Madden, and I love Gameflow. Finally, I went back to Joe Danger a bit and enjoyed it for a while last night. That really is a fun PSN title. Since I sold my Xbox and PS3 only, I have been enjoying games that I missed intially like Joe Danger and PixelJunk Shooter. The PSN, while still behind XBLA right now, is still pretty solid with quite a few really great games. And speaking of the PSN, Top Gun comes out tomorrow and then the Lara Croft game comes out in a few weeks, so I'm really looking forward to both of those! Edit: I also played through a few more levels of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which I missed the first time around. That game is actually great, maybe the best Star Wars game I've ever played (besides the LEGO games of course ). Anyway, I am really digging this game and the more I play the more I am looking forward to part 2. By the way, does anyone know how the DLC for Star Wars: TFU is? I have seen there are tattooine levels or something like that. Anyway play that before? I guess that's it. Anyone here play Madden on the PS3? Looking for some Online action. neo
  13. Ok, so I've been thinking about this. Currently people pour years and money into games that alot of times just don't live up to the Hype. Then, I play something like Scott Pilgrim. I paid $10 for it, and have had more fun then the majority of the other games that I've played this year! Why can't companies get this. Smaller, Cheaper, SOLID made games will always sell and will always be popular. I am really hoping that Scott Pilgrim will revive the Brawler genre and we can start seeing some more classic, 16 bit type games that are just pure fun. Mega Man 9 brought back the classic look on current consoles, although MM is more a Platform/Shooter. Scott Pilgrim takes that same idea and makes a current and fresh brawler in the vein of "Double Dragon" or "River City Ransom". And at $10, on digital distribution they will make a killing on it.....so why aren't more companies jumping on this train. Think about it, how much would you LOVE to boot up a classic Avengers style, side scrolling Brawler. Choose from Cap, Thor, Iron Man, or Hawkeye. Beat the mess out of a bunch of Hydra Agents or Skrulls. What about a Star Wars Brawler. You could set it in any saga, Prequels, Classic Trilogy, Clone Wars, doesn't matter. Choose from a Jedi, a Shooter, a Wookie, and a Droid and go to town. Add a few great vehicle missions and you have an instant money making machine. What about an old school, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game....seriously, think about it. Choose from 1 of the six rangers. Play in human form until you work up enough energy to morph. Fight off putties and monsters. And, if you wanted to add more guns into the mix, a G.I. Joe game that is a mix of Scott Pilgrim and Metalslug would be instant win. Instead, we get Super Hero Squad and Star Wars: The Clone Wars and G.I. Joe the Video Game.............which would you rather play? Exactly! Well, just had to get that off my chest. If I had any programming skills at all I would be kicking out games like Scott Pilgrim ever six months, but alas I have no skills so I just have to pray that developers will follow suit and start giving us more games that are more fun than flash! neo
  14. Well, right now, Scott Pilgrim in Offline Co-Op only. But from what I ready, I think there is a patch at the end of the month that takes it online, 4 player Co-Op. If you are still into it then maybe you can get it and we can kick it together. I'm sure I'll still be playing it then!! Also, thanks for the heads up on Pack 4......Magneto and Green Goblin sound good! neo
  15. Dude, there are several really cool LBP sets. There are 3 Marvel Sets....of course they split the main 3 I wanted into each seperate pack (Iron Man in Pack 1, Thor in Pack 2, and Cap in Pack 3). They also have, like the said Watchmen. They have a really cool Pirates set. And, I think my favorite is the Incredibles Pack. So, yesterday was Maddenoliday, a day I enjoy every year! It also happens to be the same day Scott Pilgrim dropped on the PSN. Madden first. There has been a lot of hate on Madden, but I guess there is every year. I'm actually OK with it being basically the same game. Every year I look for small improvements to make the game that I love to play better.......not a different game. The hate comes from people that are tired of the same game over and over and I can see their point. It's funny, I always think about Sonic when these conversations come up. Sonic was one of my favorite 16 bit games......now I can't get a decent Sonic game if my life depended on it. We've had hoverboard racing and werehogs. Seriously, if the game works don't break it just to say it's different. And I feel that way about Madden. I don't want a "Brand New Experience", I don't want First Person Football, I don't want 2K anything. Really, I love Madden and Buy it and Play it every year because I love it. This year is no different. Sure, it's not perfect, but the new Playflow is awesome! Cutting down the time it takes to play a game is fantastic, and maybe my favorite feature ever in a Madden game! At the same time, basically unchanging the Super Star or Franchise mode is a bit of a letdown, but all in all I'm satisfied with the game and can't wait to get my Franchise started. On the other hand, a little PSN game called Scott Pilgrim drew some of my attention as well. After a few football games, I wanted to switch gears. The PS3 screen filled with the WONDERFUL art showing the band playing before you even boot up the game is enough to captivate even the casual gamer. From the moment you turn the game on, something just feels familiar about it.....in a very good way. It is basically a Beat'em up in the thread of "Double Dragon" or "River City Ransom" or many of the TMNT games. So, I get started last night with Scott, of course, and I have to say I was addicted right away. I didn't want to put the game down. This is clearly one of the best games that I've played all year. I can't say enough about this game or reccommend it high enough. It's $10 and worth every dime. Best PSN game by a mile, in my opinion. So, it was a very happy day. I look forward to spending a lot of time with Scott this week as well as kicking off my Franchise by trading Tebow to the Jags....where he should have went in the first place . neo
  16. So, I've been playing quite a bit of PixelJunk Shooter and it's Fantastic! I can't believe I missed this when it released. I was so Xbox Heavy I didn't even realize what this game was. I have been sinking some time into it now though and it's a blast! I also picked up 3D Dot Game Heroes finally and I also LOVE that game. It's just like classic Zelda, almost down to the music. It's a huge fanboy dream come true, Classic Zelda in HD. I spent most of my time yesterday making my hero. I made Shinkengold from Shinkenger, and I think he turned out pretty good. I only played for a little while after that because I lost about 2 hours in the edit room. This is probably going to consume most of my weekend now! I did also download Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess but haven't even booted it up yet. With Shooter and 3D Dot, I've been busy. Plus, Madden and Scott Pilgrim comes out Tuesday.........and so the busy season starts! neo
  17. I recently moved to a new position where I am able to listen to my headphones almost all day. So, I've been listening to more podcasts for the first time. I thought maybe you guys listen to some and maybe could recommend some. Right now I listen to all of the IGN Game and Entertainment Podcasts. I also listen to several ESPN podcasts, The BS Report and Best of Mike and Mike. So, what would I check out?! neo
  18. Had a good PSN update yesterday. Picked up PixelJunk Shooter for $5 and Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess for $2.50 and also Marvel Pack 3 for LittleBigPlanet which includes Captain America. I'm also looking forward to next week, Scott Pilgrim Vs the World and Madden 11. Good times again! neo
  19. Hmm, that's not really surprising since that person's name was mentioned in the description of how the story starts. Figures it would be him. Which version I wonder? Or is it possibly all four at once? Well that would kick ass. Again, I'm still in limbo on getting this game or not. However, the boss reveals are cool, especially the Ultimate Group! As for the final, I'm hoping we get to fight him through each version. Imagine, a huge, 4 layered boss fight. Maybe you start in Noir and when Spidey lands the last blow is slams him into 2099 or Ultimate. Finall finishing up in the Amazing Universe with Classic Spidery Verses Classic "Final Boss". That would be sweet! neo
  20. Well, it's been a while since anyone posted here, so I'll fill in the gap. Now that I'm PS3 exclusive, I have a new set of games. I have been playing LittleBigPlanet and Modnation Racers which I love. I have also been playing a LOT of Toy Story 3 and I LOVE that game. It's got the personality of Pixar all over it and Toy Box mode is wonderful! I also downloaded the Madden 11 Demo last week and think it may be the best version of Madden I've ever played. I already have that game pre-ordered and paid off. Just another week and I will be sinking a bunch of hours into a new Madden game! And finally, Scott Pilgram Vs the World comes out next week as well. I haven't played it, but based on what I've seen and read I cannot wait for that game. It's kinda like Double Dragon meets River City and all awesome. neo
  21. I am completely against exclusives by stores. I'm OK with exclusives by Console, but I don't want to have to decide between two things that I really want and can't have them both. Early Unlocks is fine, but if they told me there was no Scarlet Spider contume in the game unless I buy the Kmart version, I would be really ticked........especially since I didn't realize Kmart still exsisted! As for the game it's self, I have to say that I'm very cautions so far. It looks OK, but it's such a drastic departure from what I love about Spider-Man games I'm not sure if it will work. I don't like that it's not open world but I really like that you get to play as 4 unique main characters. I don't like that they used Black Ultimate Spider-Man as a universe either, that seemed predictable and lazy, but again I will still watch closely until release. While not everyone agrees, I feel Ultimate Spider-Man is the best Spider-Man game to date.....without exception! Big open world, Cell shaded comic feel, 2 completely different playable characters, fantastic story/presentation. To be honest, I'm waiting for Ultimate 2, that is the game I want.......and it looks like I'll be waiting even longer. neo
  22. I was head over heels in love with this game......minus the Pay to Play. If they game actually does launch with Pay to Play on the PS3 I will not now or ever purchase the game. This is the perfect reason to pay for Playstation Plus. As I've said in the past, paying $50 for Xbox Live, I would never pay to play an online game again. I hold this same stance to the PSN. If they included MMO fees with Playstation Plus I would be on board day one, but if they charge a seperate fee they can kiss my money goodbye...........and this, my friends, is why the MMO will never strive on Consoles! neo
  23. Well, I'm a pros and cons kinda guy and the PS3 just slams the Xbox in almost ever way. Blu Ray, 3D, Free Online Play, Better Hardware, Rechargable Controllers.....seriously, those are just the big ones. Really, Xbox only has 2 pros: Xbox Live and the Controller (The Xbox Controller, minus the D-pad, is the best on the market). After that it just came down to exclusives and again, the PS3 beats out. The big Xbox games are Halo, Fable, Forza, and Gears. The PS3 has Uncharted, Ratchet, LittleBigPlanet, InFamous, Killzone, Resistance, Final Fantasy (for the most part), and....well, that's enough. Long story short, the only things that I'm really missing from the Xbox are the Controller and Fable........and there is much more I'd be missing the other way around. neo
  24. I will say that I'm never a fan of bashing things before I see them. As is the case with almost anything. We have an idea of how "WE" see something (the suit in this case) and let's be honest, it will almost NEVER be what we expected to see......unless we are the designers. That being said, I can say 100% that my first impression of the GL suit is not good. I do not like the idea behind the suit and think they have lost the idea of a uniform. MiniFiend is spot on, the very first thing I said is, "Wha!?!, that looks like Green Venom...." The idea of the suit is that he is part of a "Corps", so he is basically a soldier. And while each GL in the comics have their own style, when they stand together you know exactly who they are. This feels more organic and less like a uniform and I don't like that. HOWEVER, being subjective as I like to be, I can see the potential the story based on the costume alone. First, the GL Corps are basically alien, so we get that feel right away. Plus, they could push the idea that the Ring, for lack of a better description, "bonds" with the bearer. In this case, the Ring "chooses" it's wearer, and in turn basically becomes part of their being. If they go that route I can easily see the suit being explained as an Organic extenstion of Hal. I guess, my fear is that he will just follow the comics and become a member of the GL Corps, yet he will wear an organic looking costume that is never explained. At the end of the day though, if it's a good movie, I don't care if he wears a green trash bag! On a final note, how amazing would it be for Toby to have a guest spot just to quote....."I guess Green is the new Black!" neo
  25. I just wanted to share with everyone that I have retired from Xbox, for good. I've sold both of my consoles this week. I am now, fully, a PS3 supporter. I have been struggling for sometime with Achievements and why I even play games and the money that I spend and why/how I spend it and I just came to a place that I felt I needed to choose 1 system to support, and that ended at the PS3. Both consoles have their strengths, I just felt the PS3 far out weighed the 360. Anyway, just wanted you to know not to be looking for me online anymore. If you do have a PS3 though, you can hit me up. PSN ID: neolego. neo
