  1. hmmm... everything's working fine for me. *shrugs*
  2. Minimates are my big collection, but next up under them is: Any cool Spiderman figure and/or memorabilia. I don't have a count for those. DVDs - 120+ CDs - 700+ Comics - 2500+ (Though I stopped collecting when I headed off to college) Photos - 3000+ (That's just the real ones. I haven't counted the digital ones I've taken since I got my first digital camera 2 years ago...) :blackspidey:
  3. sweetness! those are tight! Good job Fujis *thumbs up*
  4. Yeah, that's a tight photoshopping job, I have to say! And it would definitely look cool to have that as an actual product
  5. I jumped on very shortly after C3 first hit the market, so my attitude when I started was 'just get the Marvel and DC characters' ... then as time went on, my Marvel and C3 collections were nearing completion, but my lust for more minis was raging on as strong as ever... so I began delving into LOTR minis. Then Street Fighter minis came out, and I totally flew all over that... I doubt I will ever set my goal for every single minimate that has been produced, but I'm eagerly awaiting BSG and Speed Racer minis. I guess my fondness will always be limited to cool licenses. We shall see...
  6. Of all the times I've been asked what my favorite movie is, I have never given an answer that I'm satisfied with (I think mainly cuz my taste in movies is constantly changing, just like my taste in music). But since I fear I will be eternally unable to give one whole-hearted answer that I can call my own, I will say that it's got to be a tie between Emperor's New Groove (Cuzco matches my sarcastic sense of humor perfectly) and Serenity (though I can never consider Serenity by itself, I have to include the entire Firefly series with it). In all seriousness, I could watch that series and movie over and over again forever.
  7. I'm totally digging that idea. I won't be at SDCC, but if given the opportunity, I would totally pick up one of those shirts. And I have to agree with Fujis, it would work better with no date.
  8. Cool beans. Congrats Dinobot!
  9. My vote is somewhere between Rogue, Iceman (the variant), Captain America, and Clobberin Time Thing... Though honestly, my absolute favorite is the custom Scarlet Spider that Cloneme made for me...
  10. Wow. That certainly is a crazy thing. Drama in real life, eh? Yeah, I hope all goes well and the guy gets caught... "Cricket? Nobody understands cricket! You've got to know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!" - Raphael, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) Ahhh, Shaun of the Dead. I totally loved that movie, though I found massive mounds of humor in it where none of the other members of my family (or most of my friends, for that matter) could only find ... un-humor.... And I flipped when I saw him in Mission Impossible 3! Everyone around me thought I was a complete doofus when I started giggling in the middle of the theatre. Heh. Yeah, it was a bright spot in the movie for me
  11. Eww. Friggin EWWW. Yeah, that's groady.
  12. I picked one up at Target. I have a similar story, too... when I first went there (like two weeks before I actually found it), I asked a worker in the electronics section and he said that they had it like a week earlier and had sold out. He suggested that I check back there (the kids' DVD section) in a week and see if a new shipment had come in. I came back 2 weeks later and sure enough, it was in the toy section. Go figure. It was indeed easy to find (as far as its placement on the shelf) I was somewhat surprised, actually. It was smack in the middle of the action figure isle (where the minis usually are, in that particular Target).
  13. I agree - knowing what it takes to run a site is reason enough for me to throw in my yes vote for ads. I agree, though, that they should be minimate-related. Though finding renters who meet that criteria in a number big enough to actually fund this board is something of a question. But if it helps, I had the thought that I could contribute by putting up an ad for Minimate Adventures (once I get the site relaunced). Eh... it's an idea. But yeah, I think banner ads would be acceptable, and also somewhat necessary edit* I will also be willing to add in any assistance I can as far as graphics go
  14. "Im not Kosher" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA That's awesome! I love it!
  15. Yeah, the symbol is a little less-than-stellar... but the rest of it is superb. It's fairly high quality work
  16. Well, I haven't made them yet, and I honestly don't feel like putting in the effort on those specific ones. But I did throw together a couple other ones... Here's one of Yoda. I didn't have an official pic of him that worked right, so I used one of my drawings. Then there's the Pumpkin King. And let's not forget Samus And my personal favorite, Wash from Firefly/Serenty
  17. I threw out one for Minimate Adventures: I thought about doing a couple others, but most of them are inside jokes, and most people wouldn't appreciate the humor that I find in them
  18. Whew. That's crazy. It almost makes me wish that I had the desire to undertake a project like that. Props to that man!
  19. Yeah, I was thinking Moleman would be a good sequel, and then bring in Galactus and Silver Surfer for the third installment. I just kinda figured it would make a nice ending chapter for a trilogy. And by the third movie, (one would hope) they would have the process figured out well enough that they could really do the story and characters justice. And usually, a third movie will have a bigger budget than the first two, so the special effects would be better (which would be essential, since Galactus would likely be mostly-if-not-completely CGI. And to do Silver Surfer right, he would have to be heavily CG'd, or at least computer enhanced)...
  20. Yeah, I would certainly love to do more. And I have several different characters planned, but finding the time to do them is the problem. I'm currently making a custom of myself (te he he) for my comic strip... but the strip in and of itself is a bit more work than I have time for, and that's my big priority at the moment (gotta hustle to get the relaunch ready in time for the official release date. woo hoo) So yeah, I'm still wanting to make some new customs. But it may be a while yet...
  21. Let's start with the most noteworthy attempts - full out customs complete with sculpted parts: Mega Man X This one's made from a Battle-damaged Daredevil body. I totally repainted it (minus the mouth) and used some sculpey for helmet, gun, boots, etc. This was my first custom, which I did this back in 2006. ---------------------------------------- Yuriko Aran (my entry for the Alternate Universe Custom Contest) I bit off FAR more than I could chew with this one. It had been roughly 4 years since I tried making a full-on custom with sculpted parts. I had forgotten everything I knew from before, and I went into it very unprepared. I used Das Prang as my sculpting clay (a brand that I do not recommend using. it was murder getting a smooth surface from that stuff), I had to re-learn how to air brush, and I hadn't even attempted figuring out how decals work. This custom was supposed to be amazingly mind blowing. But my lack of experience hampered my ambition considerably. I spent roughly 3 weeks doing the sculpting work in order to take it from this to the final product, but all that work was negated by the paint (since the clay doesn't hold the paint too well - it showed off all the massive flaws like nobody's business) ... so I will be researching materials better and getting a stronger handle on techniques, and I will be tweaking this sucker until I'm pleased with it. "Art is never finished. It is only abandoned" ... ---------------------------------------- Next is my repaint of... Phoenix. I did this one before the official release. All I did was take a dark phoenix 'mate and repaint the red parts green. Then I switched out the head with the one from the New X-Men Phoenix Minimate --------------------------------------- A tweak of... Jean Grey. This is simple enough. I wanted to make the official release a little more pleasing to the eye, so I dropped the wrist cuffs, cut the shoulder pads, altered the detailing on the chest block, and switched out the face. ---------------------------------------- Quick Customs: Wolverine Relatively simple work - I just switched out parts from the Daken Wolverine and the TRU brown wolverine. ---------------------------------------- James Bond. I seriously have no clue what parts I used for this. But I can tell you that no effort into this. I just slapped some pre-existing pieces together. No alterations at all. ---------------------------------------- And here's the cheapest thing I've ever done while still considering it a "custom" Danglers. I screwed some eye-hooks into the heads of some minis and superglued them into positions to make Christmas tree ornaments. Or keychains, or rearview-mirror-dangling-thingies. This was also back in 2006 - some day I'll update my danglers with some more current releases.
  22. Hooray conglomeration! amalgamation! having to watch my post count rise from nothing on two boards at the same time! Woo hoo! Just kidding. No, but really - this is cool. I like the idea of this merger, cuz that points to a bright future and all
