  1. A tie-in set for this show would be a great opportunity for a new release of some AIM soldiers ... https://www.cbr.com/marvel-modok-hulu-trailer/?utm_source=CBR-FB-P&utm_medium=Social-Distribution&utm_campaign=CBR-FB-P&fbclid=IwAR3Y7nLbrSZ6JQCtOgvTBIr4sMSVM38A9EEqz_cOvQQN3fC037oIjlE09wU
  2. I love that lineup. It gets me too excited thinking about it... and that is all just from MMPR. There is potential for years worth of releases if they start dipping into the subsequent PR incarnations. I’m just wincing a bit at the potential of a repeat of what happened to Sonic or the Star Trek Legacy line...
  3. Agreed, for the same reason. also, the helmet designs really need the benefit of that rounded forehead space if they’re going to sell the whole ‘this is a dinosaur head’ motif...
  4. Beast Wars was my introduction to the Transformers franchise. The Cheetor transmetal 2 figure was one of my favorite toys ever... I’d flip if DST made it that far with their TF releases
  5. This is indeed a big deal for DST! These designs look slick, and hopefully this launches a huge line that does well for ‘mates as a whole I’m eager to see the GI Joe mates... and like others, I am cautiously optimistic of what else might come if these do well. I’d be in cloud 9 if we got MMPR...
  6. funkguerilla’s blender assessment is spot on ? I kinda like it but not as a Spidey suit. But still, I always enjoy it when he gets a fresh look. Even with the weird alien vibe the mask is giving off... I’d definitely be down for a mate of this design
  7. Plus it was a figure that had already been planned for production in the main wave, so there was no need to tool any new pieces or tampos. They were just extending the production numbers, as opposed to creating a whole new figure with additional costs that needed to be offset
  8. Yeah, I tried it. Unfortunately, it looks too off to really work
  9. I was 8 years old. Probably the target demographic... I was enthralled with it at the time, and all of my friends would talk about each episode for the whole week at school. We didn’t understand that it was low quality, we just loved the characters and all of their super powers. I haven’t watched it since. I actively avoid it and just hold on to the nostalgia and the feeling of it being cool to me as a kid. I made the mistake of rewatching Hook a few years back and left that viewing feeling a small gut punch over the fact that I couldn’t trust my childhood memories of it being this epic movie experience. I’d prefer not to experience that disappointment with the X-Men cartoon as well ?
  10. It’s a wrap! The challenge was a whole lot of fun, and it was incredible to see all the participation. A lot of people put in their A Game to create some really cool photos and artwork. I was really surprised to see how much excitement the challenge generated!
  11. I got the same notice, but I also had multiple items on that order that weren’t preorders. My assumption is that Luke got the official notice that John Wick is cancelled and now he’s shipping out my order since it’s no longer being held up by the (now) cancelled set. I haven’t gotten a notice of a refund but I suspect it’s just a bit delayed ** edit - I just got the refund and an email explaining that the set is cancelled
  12. When I made the topic, I put it in Custom Creations & Artwork. But then a second thread was started and the two were merged, and I didn’t notice that it’s now in a different section. Thanks for pointing that out! I’ll see about getting it moved
  13. I did Inktober last fall and it kicked my butt trying to keep up with daily posts. A full month can be a bit much, so yeah I definitely recommend taking breaks periodically ?
  14. Just so you all know, you’re free to deviate from the prompt list if you’d like. I realize that it seems like an official rule to follow, but really the prompt list was just designed to help spark inspiration if you need it. If there’s a prompt you don’t want to participate in, feel free to post something that isn’t related! The only time you would need to follow the prompts is for the contests (not including this first week, which is a basic giveaway). The contests will be judged based on the week’s theme (so week 2 is Heroes & Villains. You would only need to post one image on theme for that week to be eligible for the contest). Following the prompts can be fun, but it isn’t a regulation ?
  15. That is FANTASTIC. So glad the sets did well for you! Hopefully that bodes well for potential future sets like that
  16. Right? It has been very cool to watch!
  17. March of Minimates is live! it will be running from today until March 31st, with weekly contest and prizes. We’d love to see you there!
  18. I would actually be cool with that. I liked how they varied the heights in that line, but it makes it odd when I consider my LotR ‘mates with most other properties. The thing that I would be worried about is DST’s latest trend of releasing a box set or two, then stopping because the sales aren’t there. So we end up with a few characters we want and a large number conspicuously MIA
  19. I can’t tell you how much I would flip for an updated take on the LotR mates. I absolutely love the ones we got, but the tampos feel a bit dated. And of course there’s the issue of scale. I don't want to get my hopes up, though...
  20. I actually did a little dance. these mates can’t get here soon enough
  21. Thanks! I really hope this will be a fun event for everyone, regardless of artistic skill. I’m looking forward to what people will come up with and I know Zach is aware of it, but I’m not sure how involved DST will want to be. When I conceived the challenge, I didn’t think it would be a big enough thing for that level of attention ?
  22. Photography isn’t the only way you can participate - it encompasses a broad range of art; including customs, decals, dios, displays/collections, etc... Photography is the most popular way to make Minimate images, but the origin of this challenge was actually me wanting to draw one Minimate drawing each day for a month. I originally wanted to pitch the challenge as something for traditional artists to participate in (very much along the lines of Inktober) but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that drawing/painting was too limited in scope. So I opened it up to include any form of art that celebrates Minimates!
  23. Actually, it was my brain child. Luke was awesome enough to sponsor some of the prizes and help me promote it I posted a thread about it here ? I'm stoked to see people excited about it!
