  2. I know, some see the glass half full while I see it as half empty. Some see this board as 99+% full of mutual respect and tolerance, some see that .something% that is unnecessary behavior that seems unprofessional, disrespectful and verging on bullying. I'm all for giving someone a hard time (obviously), especially when they set themselves up for it, but when it becomes clear that someone is taking it personally it seems the respectful thing to do is to back off. Even if the person keeps coming back despite the abuse. Well, at least that's what I think a pessimist that never comes around here often might see.
  3. With only a couple days left, I doubt it matters if this year turns around or not. Maybe next year will be better. And belated birthday wishes Sam. Looks like you're getting belated gifts as well.
  4. FYI, I gave up comics at the same time I gave up Minimates. I'll pick this one up to read with my daughter and son, but too little too late Marvel. You won't suck me back in this easily with a comic series and a role on the new season of the animated Spider-Man. It's gonna take a whole Squirrel Girl movie to get my forgiveness at this point.
  5. Very, very helpful. I tried the usual checking on google but was pretty overwhelmed actually. Thanks for doing my homework for me. And it was a little jab, but a huge wound I'm still recovering from. You never call, you never write...
  6. Further proving I only come here when I need something, I wanted to see if anyone here can recommend an easy-to-learn program for digital model design. Looking to get some 3D stuff printed through somewhere like Shapeway and know there are some here with some experience in different programs. Any (helpful) opinions are welcome. And if anyone has any input on Shapeway please feel free to share.
  7. Asking the question today, is it possible to celebrate a birthday that has yet to take place? Here's to your future day of birth! Hope it turns out to be great.
  8. Hey, i don't just come here to hock my wares. I also come here to see who wished me a happy birthday. Thanks for the well wishes everyone. It was a great day and this just helped add to it.
  9. I'll try to pop in more often, but it's still difficult to be here and not be afraid I'll start wanting to get back into things again (which would be bad). It's like being a recovering alcoholic and visiting a bar to see old friends. Actually, it's more like being an ex-junkie going to hang out in a crackhouse.
  10. Hey all. Long time no see? Well, it was one year ago today that I lost my job and one year ago tomorrow that I decided to officially leave MMMV. As I've thought a lot about things today, I decided I wanted to come back here again just to say 'thanks' to those that always made this a pleasant 'home away from home'. I still interact with some from here and the Chicago meet-up was a nice treat as well, but I guess it just seemed right to stop by today and say how much I really appreciated this place. I know the door is always open to come back, but it's never quite felt right whenever I've tried (even this seems kind of awkward). This is a great community for the most part, but it's still centered around things that aren't really a part of my life (if that makes sense). Life has changed and is moving in a different direction now, but I always enjoyed the time I had here. I've said it before and I feel it's worth repeating, this group here has found a unique balance most collector groups will never achieve. Things like mutual respect and camaraderie were always the norm and not the exception. And to those that were part of it, I just wanted to say thanks again. I'm sure I'll stop in every so often and say this again, but when I think of the constants that has changed in a year it was hard to ignore here. Um, that was all. Oh, and it's one year later and there's still no plans for a Squirrel Girl Minimate? I really thought I'd left the movement in good hands, but it seems my trust was misplaced.
  11. So, still no sign of a Squirrel Girl Minimate? DST, you're just not even trying to win me back, are you? I thought this whole 'giving up Minimates' charade would be enough to force you to finally make SG to win me back, but I guess our relationship must not have meant as much to you as it did to me. I think this just seals it for me and I guess I'm reduced to finding a Squirrel Girl Heroclix. Aw, Squirrel Girl...
  12. I've heard from a very reliable source that the new line is Golden Girls. The Halloween exclusive is supposed to be nude Dorothy and Rose. Absolutely frightening.
  13. I love Shockinis. Said no one, ever. If one thing will bring me back to the board, it'll be to put down Shocker Toys.
  14. I'll chime in officially to say thanks to all involved with the incredible meet-up. It was very much worth the trip and proved (as I'm sure I said several times) that this community isn't so much about the toys. but the people. MMMV isn't unique in it's concept, but the way the community relates and bonds together is definitely hard to find. The fact that you can take away the toy aspect of this group and still have something is very special. Again, thanks to everyone who made the weekend possible and much appreciation to the well wishes from everyone. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder and I guess I found that to be very true this weekend (and not just because I believe I was fondled a few times by bhm after he'd had a few drinks).
  15. I dreamt I was being offered quail eggs and crab cakes throughout every dream I had last night...
  16. So, lurkers are welcome at the meet-up? Hmmm...
  17. It happened when I was up until 2am with a sleepless daughter. When I put her to bed after watching Tangled, I turned to walk out of the dimly lit room and was in the light just the right way to see my shadow. I'm sure it was inevitable that it would happen today, but I guess I just didn't expect it to be that soon into the day. For those of you that are sick of winter, I am so sorry for causing six more weeks of it. I just felt too guilty not to apologize for it. I'll try better next year.
  18. No, no, no, not back. In fact, sticking it to Nessex is much more enjoyable than running things. TM2 just told me SS had started up for this year and I took that as he intended me to pop in and demean the whole process. In hindsight, I should have ran it one more year and just sent everyone my address as the one to send gifts to...
  19. So this is how it's going to be? I leave for a couple months and get replaced for running the Secret Santa? Sure I said I was leaving for good, but who really ever does that (besides all those people that really did that)? And seriously, Nessex is the best you can all come up with as a replacement Secret Santa dictator? What an insult. That's it. You can all keep your Secret Santa if you want it so bad. I quit (again).
  20. I got the message from Geo that the contest had started and thought it was worth a stop in to give my endorsement. It's got to be one of the most outlandish contests that's been here so I'm hoping there's a good turn out. And since I've been in a 'beat myself up' kind of mood recently, I welcome anyone to punch me in the face. I'm growing to like it, so I'll send some extra stuff to anyone that pulls it off. Best of luck to you all!
