  1. I'm still awaiting my nude T-800 figure, thank you very much.
  2. I imagine I am not the first person to decree that LOST minimates be made. In fact, I remember DST answering a question about them, but can't remember what the question or answer was. Besides the fact that I would buy every single one in existence, the line would have plenty of character and variant potential to ensure we get no figure equivalent to Hairy Arms McCoy (not that the ST line was out of ideas then either). Plus as long as Season 6 doesn't turn out to be a complete bust (which it won't), the fandom should remain strong. But, if DST were to pick up the license for LOST, do you think they would realistically sell? It would be nice to have them in waves like the Star Trek or BSG figures, but I don't know if they would have the visual appeal that those lines had. Basically, I'd like LOST figures, as long as they are received in the same way as the 24 'mates.
  3. Maybe a little too positive. Let's see how many nice things he has to say about Hairy Arms McCoy. Seriously though, that is a very nice blog and it's really making me ache for some more ST 'mates.
  4. I do kinda wish just for variety's sake that the back of Arnie's jacket had a bunch of sculpted bullet holes. Still can't find these in my area, but hopefully Santa will come through this year.
  5. Hah, someone else who uses Meatspace. Pretty sweet pics, I only wish that Arnie wasn't such a boring retread of Assualt T-800/Biker T-800. Big props to whoever designed the exploded T-1000 head.
  6. I was typing-tired and meant Series 2 specialty market (must've had "boxsets" on the mind for some reason*). Sorry for the confusion. *Though I must confess that I feel that this 'line' was better geared for boxsets (at least one per movie) than 2-packs. They actually sold well here (at the 2 of 3 TRUs that carried them) when they first came out. It was the outlandish "restock" (at least four cases!) at my nearest TRU that have stagnated and show no signs of moving. I counted 13 SWAT/T-800s (and at least half that many Endos) if you're interested (though I'm picking-up a few for Col. Marine customs in the event that the BSG line doesn't provide them). Until these go, I've little hope of ever seeing Series 2 (if/when they get resolicited). Thanks for the offer, though my armies are pretty set as of now. But if I need Endos and SWAT's in the near future I'll give you a head's up. Actually, if the line does fail, I may not mind one last boxed set to wrap it all up. BD Endo we already have, Combat T-800 is basically the Assault Gear T-800 with a new head and some minor tampo damage, we kind of already have the Cop T-1000 and Asylum Sarah is a bit of a meh figure. That leaves Liquid T-1000 (a personal must have for me), Asylum T-1000 (since I need a normal T-1000 for mix and match battle damage), John and BD Sarah. I could probably do without Sarah since I already have the Cyberdyne one but I'm sure she's a must have for a lot of collectors (Though I'm curious why DST put the BD Sarah in the regular line and not the non-BD one).
  7. Ah geez, that grayed out picture on the front page gave me a jolt. It's odd, I seem to be the only person who has seen the 'mates sell well in my area (or at least enough to hinder my Endoskeleton/SWAT army building). Also, cdubya what boxset are you talking about?
  8. Same, these better not be cancelled. Though I heard a Nov. 28th release date, which sucks, but as long as they come out I won't care.
  9. Don't break my heart DST. But I did anticipate lack of interest being a problem for the Godfather mates, or at least a problem in guaranteeing a Godfather Part II set.
  10. Since the "Ask DST" has said that no Aliens/Predator 'Mates are being planned, now I'm really hoping the licensing gods can come and change their mind. (But their optimism for some T2 vehicles makes me happy) And, what the hell, here be my ideal wishlist: Alien/Lambert Ripley/Dallas Spacesuit Ripley/Brett Spacesuit Kane/Parker Spacesuit Dallas/Kane Spacesuit Lambert/Ash Warrior Alien/Bishop Ripley (blue jumpsuit)/Newt Hicks/Gorman Warrior Alien/Burke Hudson/Apone Vasquez/Drake Box set: Powerloader/Ripley (white shirt)/Queen Alien Predator/Mac Armored Predator/Billy Dutch/Poncho Stealth Predator/Blain Jungle Battle Dutch/Anna Dillon/Hawkins
  11. Is it sad that I knew the names of nearly all those guys without having to look them up? Yes, yes it is. (You forgot Wuher and Garindan!) SW minimates would be incredibly cool, but doesn't the contract with Hasbro state that no other company can sell just plain SW figures of any kind? Because I remember them getting upset when Lego tried releasing just a few sets of just minifigures. As it stands, Lego does just fine for me especially since we can then get some nice buildable vehicles.
  12. I remember some time ago, DST said that they were interested in pursuing the Alien vs. Predator license. Seeing as I have no need for a Predalien or Michelle Dessler in a military uniform, I really hope that if they take it into more consideration, it's more or Alien and Predator with characters from all the movies (though more specifically Alien, Aliens and Predator; didn't care for any of the others). I'm not going to waste any time in making a laundry list of figures I'd like to see, but if I had an Apone, well, that would just be dandy.
  13. Very nice blog. Oh, and I embrace the nitpicky. Nothing scremas fandom like constant overanalyzing. Also, I was looing through your customs and really dug your Alien. If you don't mind me asking, what was the recipe?
  14. Nuts, I'm sure I'll get beaten to with pics. But I'm still pumped to get this in the mail. Particularly for the Sarah Conner figure (who I'm surprised that didn't have in the regular line in place of the BD Sarah. I hope too many collectors don't end up missing out on her).
  15. Well, Foley comes with that banana. Aw-yeah.
  16. I'd be up for some Kill Bill minimates. Of all the Tarantino films, they would have the most visual 'pop' and lots of cool weapons potential. Not that I'd say no to Reservior Dogs or Pulp Fiction either (my one dream is to someday own a Walken minimate. Please, please make it happen). I already posted this but given that Godfather 'mates are on the way, with the possibility of Godfather Part II on the horizon, does anybody have any desire to see DST tackle Apocalypse Now? The eight main characters (Willard, Kurtz, Kilgore, Chef, Phillips, Lance, Mr. Clean, the photojournalist) would fit nicely into two boxed sets. However the Vietnam solider quota may have been met with Platoon and anyone who has never seen the movie may not find them useful as generic solider 'mates. But that said, would anyone else be interested in these?
  17. Please don't or we may be forced to restrain you! There are plenty of existing threads for wanted licenses, this one being the most popular, so there's really no need to clutter the place with a bunch of new ones? T. Ah! Thanks for the head's up.
  18. One one hand, these are mostly guys in suits, on the other it's Beverly Hills Cop. So yes, I'll be buying. However, one thing that sort of bothers me (and I noticed this with the Godfather figures) is having the collar and tie seperately sculpted rather than a tampo. I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I think it makes the figures look too bulky. Though it's odd they would do that with Taggart and not Victor and Judge Reinhold.
  19. I'm tempted to start dozens of wishlist threads, so hopefully I can restrain myself (for now ). Given that Godfather 'mates are on the way, with the possibility of Godfather Part II on the horizon, does anybody have any desire to see DST tackle Apocalypse Now? The eight main characters (Willard, Kurtz, Kilgore, Chef, Phillips, Lance, Mr. Clean, the photojournalist) would fit nicely into two boxed sets. However the Vietnam solider quota may have been met with Platoon and anyone who has never seen the movie may not find them useful as generic solider 'mates. But that said, would anyone else be interested in these?
  20. If ya have any yarble, ya eunuch jelly thou.
  21. "Yarbles!" Though I really wish I knew the other two. Good eye BHM  Oh, and that one's Enchanted. Loved that movie especially since I find those Disney priness movies so old-fashioned (save Beauty and the Beast).
  22. I have been a big follower of Minimates for a long time. While I collect the Marvel, DC and Trek figures sporadically, I'm a huge film buff so I'm far more partial to the movie Minimates (my fav so far are the Dollars mates). It looks like I can expect the Terminator, Ghostbusters, Godfather and Beverly Hills Cop mates will break my wallet. Oh, and my username is taken from the sergeant from Aliens. I saw on the front page that DST is considering the Alien vs. Predator license, but I'd much rather they tackle the original Alien/Aliens and Predator. But that's not anything to worry about now....
