  1. That's the original female Starbuck! My main reason for posting in this thread is to bump it to three pages, so I don't have to look at that blue haired... thing anymore.
  2. If you like Spider-Man, you'll go bonkers trying to collect all the Minimate variants. But it's better than NOT collecting them! Welcome!
  3. I second the request for pics - I'd like to know exactly what you do get in this bizarre set.
  4. Here is a much more positive review - beware spoilers.
  5. They can't do a battle-damaged Wolvie, because he heals too quickly! Okay, lame joke. I really hope I enjoy this movie, because I'm starting to like the look of these Mates. But if the film blows, there's no way I'll buy the toys - that's my credo.
  6. Happy Happy Happy Birthday Birthday Birthday!
  7. Nice looking Mogwai! My only recommendation would be to use the short legs - then you could just redecorate a Yoda Mugg. I bet you could do a Gremlin on the same body!
  8. OK, this is getting fun! Good photography, too. I hope by the end of this run, we'll be able to see all the different permutations. Have you noticed that clicking on the six pictures brings up a pop-up with bad-ass trivia about Darth Vader? My favorite: Darth Vader knows what each fork is for.
  9. This should comfort you. No matter how the movie turns out, the book will continue to exist, and to rock hard-core, for generations to come. And to answer your question from earlier, I lived in San Diego for a year, and spent a lot of time on that stretch of shore.
  10. Ah, but they could reuse the Blob torso from the Wolverine movie wave.
  11. Also, existing thread here: http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.ph...0&start=120
  12. Well, I'm convinced. I'll be selling all my Minimates now for mere pennies, as clearly they are pathetic. Who would have thought I could be so easily swayed by someone who spells it Emporer?
  13. Of what's been mentioned so far in this thread, I would think the following would be the most successful: Ferris Bueller Friday the 13th Forrest Gump Cheech & Chong as a 2-pack (not my cup of tea, but whatever) and maybe Beverly Hills Cop If anything, this news has made me glad I stopped being a completist. More Minimates is always good, but some of these properties, I just have no interest in. Though I am crossing my fingers for a Ferris box set with Rooney!
  14. I watched the original BSG when it came out - I was a wee lad, and as an adult I couldn't remember any of it. So these past few weeks I've started rewatching it via Hulu. And to my surprise, I'm really enjoying it. Sure, the effects are dated and the show is incredibly sexist, but it still makes for a decent action/adventure series. I also enjoy the parallels to the new series, and I wonder if the new series will somehow make it so that the original show was one of the 'cycles' - as in, "all of this has happened before and all of this will happen again."
  15. You know, I've been thinking that maybe DST has a good strategy by not showing new Star Trek mates right now. They clearly don't have the toy license for the new movie, so they can't make mates off the film. In this movie year, collectors are going to have their wallets stretched thin with all the new product from Playmates and others, and casual fans will probably want one or two toys from the new film - which DST can't produce. Let's assume DST comes out with some TNG/DS9 mates for Toy Fair 2010. By that time, interest in the new film will have died down, but there will still be some general awareness of Star Trek. People who were brought into Star Trek fandom will have checked out some of the older shows, and will be looking for something new to buy. This would be the perfect environment in which to give us a TNG all-stars wave. I personally don't mind waiting a year if it means more Trek Minimates.
  16. entertheninja!, what's up with that photo of two people in La Jolla, CA? Is one of them you? Just curious, but I can't figure out how it's relevant to Watchmen.
  17. It'll be nice to get a Pacino mate, but as expected, these aren't that visually inspiring. I hope the Old Brando Godfather has an alternate face with an orange in his mouth. That would at least bring in a little color.
  18. Since I can't reply with 'every single Ghostbusters or T2 mate', I'll go with the TNG Spock exclusive, because it indicates that DST hasn't given up on Star Trek Minimates.
  19. Agreed, but if the exclusive were Data or Geordi, can you imagine the outrage from Minimate collectors? Since this exclusive is an actual show-based figure, not just "popular character with elf hat," I'm gonna have to get one. I just hope they made enough that I'll be able to score one at a reasonable price.
  20. That would be Dr. Silberman, a great one to pair with Asylum Sarah (or Pescadero State Hospital, if you prefer). I just can't figure out who the masked guy is supposed to be. http://74.52.193.82/events/main.php?g2_itemId=124362
  21. Every one. Do you hear me? I will own every one of these. Simply amazing.
  22. Ah, but I think the pilots (especially with the half-off flight suits) make for more visually interesting figures. I'm a Romo fan, but I think it's more likely to see one of the pilots made - I'll go for Hot Dog. Speaking of, I could go for an actual hot dog, too.
  23. This place wouldn't be the same without you, BHM. Each of your posts is better than the next. Have a good one dude!
  24. (my italics) Uh, do you mean Caprica, the prequel TV show? That won't start until 2010, though the 2 hour pilot will be out on DVD sometime in 2009. It's kinda early to expect to see Caprica Minimates.
  25. Ah. Well, now you can color me ignorant. I had no idea there were more than one Question - just goes to show how little I know about the DC 'verse.
