  1. I wouldn't pay anything for either of these, but that's because I don't bother with blanks & promos. Ah, the joys of not being a completist!
  2. I saw it last night at a preview screening. I don't want to over-hype it, because that can lead to unreal expectations. But sweet bleeding Andorians, this movie RULES!
  3. I second that: Huh?! Also, NINTENDOwii, did you need to quote the giant block of text in your post?
  4. That Teen Wolf is too awesome! What I would really want, though, are 1:6 scale BTTF figures - at least an orange vest Marty and a radiation suit Doc. Also, just today I saw that Hot Toys Joker with the movable eyes, though I guess it's kind of old news by now. It looks amazing.
  5. I would be Silver Spider-Man, so that no one could ever find me. Or, Marty McFly, who was my childhood hero.
  6. Just put up on AFX's blog: http://www.afxblog.com/ Can YOU guess who they are? My knowledge of the Marvel-verse is somewhat limited.
  7. Agreed - Jackie Earl Haley is spot-on to play Freddy. The original was such a classic, though (not counting most of the sequels), that I just don't know how I feel about remaking it. Incidentally, on the topic of Watchmen. If anyone would like to trade their DC Direct Watchmen action figures for Minimates, I have a bunch of mates available, and would consider any offer - particularly for the translucent Dr. Manhattan. Check the link in my signature.
  8. I wish I had insider information! My only intent was to say that, sooner or later, we will hear something, positive or negative, about these. To answer Pickle's query, I did indeed have the final waves and New Caprica on preorder through BBTS - but not cases of them. In fact, I've been an ardent supporter of this line since the very beginning. I bought a case of Wave 1, and paid full preorder price for everything since - except the Kat 2pack, which I bought at a premium via eBay. In retrospect, I really wish I had followed the same route sha_ckwave did, as I could have saved a bundle of money. In fact, the experience of collecting BSG 'mates has put me off preordering entirely.
  9. To patox I say: have patience, young Minimate fan.
  10. Hey everyone, I was interviewed on the Force-Cast podcast on Wednesday night, regarding the article in Harper's and my trips to Star Wars filming locations. The show is now posted for you to hear! http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Force...2009_122199.asp My segment starts at the 45 minute mark and lasts for 28 minutes. Enjoy!
  11. Wheelbarrow scene FTW! That is a quality barrow.
  12. I like 'em a lot. Ghostbusters and T2 are bigger priorities for me, but I'll pick these up sooner or later.
  13. I second the idea that people should introduce themselves in the appropriate thread before being allowed to post to the Trade area. Furthermore, it seems like you should do one of two things: either have one thread wherein each person gets one post, or let each person have their own thread. Right now, we have both going on at the same time, and I think this is what leads to such confusion and frustration.
  14. But the show is not officially over! We still have the 2 hour episode BSG: The Plan, which will likely come out in the summer. And we have the pilot for the new show Caprica, coming to DVD on April 21. We may have seen the conclusion to the story, but there's still plenty of BSG to look forward to - and which DST ought to capitalize on by releasing the remaining Minimates!
  15. I'm gonna call it right now: Proton Pack will win Top Accessory in the 2009 Best Of voting!
  16. Oh Gods, tonight's episode was a great one! Cannot wait for next week!
  17. Ah, but Ivan, I HAVE been to Tunisia! http://www.new.facebook.com/profile.php?&a...mp;id=670189988
  18. Hi all, forgive my shameless self-promotion! I've visited many actual Star Wars filming locations - on my last trip to Buttercup Valley, in southeastern California, I was accompanied by journalist Jon Mooallem. He has written an 8 page article about our trip and discusses other Star Wars location hunters, and it appears in the March 2009 issue of Harper's Magazine! http://www.harpers.org/archive/2009/03/0082429 If you don't want to pay the $17 for an online subscription, you can probably find the issue in Barnes & Noble or the like. I've found the issue on newsstands and bookstores around the Raleigh area. If you find a copy, I hope you enjoy it!
  19. I saw it last night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've owned a copy of the book for years, and I knew about the major changes. After thinking about it, I honestly think the big change to the end (you know what I mean) was entirely justified. The movie ending works for the movie, and the book ending works for the book. I can accept and enjoy both. Apart from that, I was amazed how faithful the movie was to the book, in everything from the art design to the details of Dan Dreiberg's dream. I'm eagerly awaiting the longer version on the DVD. I thought the movie did a deft job of balancing the overall story thread with a heap of new characters. I still think you're better off having read the book first, just to be able to keep the minor characters straight. Seeing the newsstand guy and the kid at the end made the finale especially bittersweet, and again I'm looking forward to seeing more of them on the DVD.
  20. Has anyone watched the Watchmen Motion Comic? http://watchmenmotioncomic.com/ It's 5 hours long, and isn't on Netflix yet, though I think you can get it on iTunes. I was wondering if it's worthwhile, especially if you've already read the book.
  21. 3Dean, you may want to wrap some spoiler tags around some info in your post, specifically about the identities of some of the Final Five. Some board members here, especially those in the UK, aren't caught up on the most recent episodes.
  22. Yeah, if I were you I'd be concerned about possible vampirism. How does he behave around garlic?
