  1. I had a hunch, and went to the TRU in town I used to work at after class today, and I was right on the money! I got all 5 packs for Wave 2, and left behind a Jogger Ghost set. People apparently were on to me from last time, as they came in this morning, and at least one person came in and got a set, since I did pretty much the same thing last time. I am about to open them and finish my setup with Wave 1, now all I need is the Comic Con 2 pack, the second box set, and any that come out in the future!
  2. I'm really glad to see them flying off store shelves. On one hand it's bad, since people are having a tough time finding them, but on the other, it's great to know Ghostbusters still has the selling power. I managed to get the 4 pack and all of the 2 packs, and now both the LCS and the TRU are sold completely out. I plan on pre-ordering the next wave sometime in the next month or so, just so I know I will have them. Also, having worked at Toys R Us before, I can tell you, they have pretty low hiring standards. Usually they hire good people, and most of their management is in-house raised employees, but that also means by then usually they are kind of jaded with the retail scene, and cut corners a lot. It's a shame, but it happens everywhere. Retail is a really not fun area to work.
  3. The only ones I would be bummed to not get would be: Janine (1 or 2 style) A regular Dana Characters that would be awesome to get: Vigo Scolari Brothers Walter Peck I agree about the Real Ghostbusters sets, I think those would be amazing. The awesome thing about the Ghostbusters license is that there are just so many characters and variations, and honestly, I see all of them as awesome options, not cop outs. Case in point: the slimed Venkman. A simple repaint, yeah, but that pack is so fun, you have to smile when you see it. I guess what I am getting at is that this line has captured the energy and feel of the movies so well. To be fair, I feel the same way about the T2 sets. I look at them and I say "BAD A**!", like I did when I first saw the movie. Art Asylum has done so well with everything I have seen so far.
  4. No problem everyone. I am in Kentucky, and they showed up yesterday. Tomorrow morning I go pick them up, I can't wait!
  5. For Series 1: Item #: 804512 SKU: C4FABF33 UPC/EAN/ISBN: 699788727393 For Series 2: Item #: 810005 SKU: E7B60A6E UPC/EAN/ISBN: 699788727423
  6. Holy crap... awesome!! I will be printing that for my GB 2 display! Thanks a lot for posting that!
  7. The TRU I used to work at got the entire set in today, along with the BSG set. I won't have the money to pick them up until Thursday, but I got them to hold me a full set. Come on, Thursday!!
  8. I know a lot of people complain that their orders from TRU are actually the incorrect item from the assortment. That is why I was really weary of ordering from them to pre-order these. But, it sounds like everyone is getting what they ordered, just in beat up shape. Which, I am a loose collector 99% of the time, so it's not a *huge* deal to me, it just seems a bit careless and unprofessional to me. But I guess when they are exclusives, the thought process is "where else can you buy them? Take them how we send them", which is a shame.
  9. First off, props to the Lost in Translation reference, I love that movie. As for the quote, I *think* it's from the second highest grossing movie of 1984... The name is on the tip of my tongue... Ghost Smashers? Ghost Chasers? No that's not it... oh yeah, Ghostbusters! It's a sad fact that nobody will watch either one with me, because I know every line, so I quote every single line as I watch. Everyone gets to about that line you quoted, and they turn to me and go "Really?" and they leave, ha ha.
  10. The proton pack design alone is just amazing. The detail is insane.
  11. Awesome pictures! I got the set yesterday, but haven't opened it yet. I am trying to get two sets, so I can have one to keep MOC and one to open. My LCS has one set left, but I can't pick it up until next week. Hopefully it's still there. Otherwise, it's online purchasing. I have a fun setup in my head of the Busters facing off against my 15" NECA Stay Puft, and with the 2" scale, I think it will look pretty hilarious.
  12. I'm (im)patiently waiting for my local TRU to have the Ghostbusters sets in stock, mostly because of the horror stories I have heard about TRU.com. As a former TRU employee, I am hoping that I can get a little heads-up when they come in. I got the 4 pack yesterday, and as a life long GB fan (I was born in '84, so I really did grow up with it), I am so happy with how they turned out. Having been teased with GB products of varying quality over the years, it's very nice to see a company turn out an excellent product. I hope sales are strong enough to see more and more sets. I wouldn't mind seeing a Vigo/Janosz set, or a GB 2 Dana/Oscar set. With the game, the 'Mates, and the Blu-Ray, it's a great time to be a Ghostbusters fan.
  13. Hey everyone! I am a new poster here, but I have been lurking and reading posts for several months. One of the main reasons I joined now is, obvious by my user name, the new Ghostbusters line. The Ghostbusters sites I visit haven't talked much about it, and you guys here have a couple strong topics on it already. My Minimates collection is not limited to Ghostbusters though, as my first set was a gift, the Scarlet Spider/Hobgoblin FYE/Suncoast set, and I fell in love with the line instantly. I only have a couple of sets, as I kind of jumped on later in the run, so I am working on back tracking to get the sets I really want, which involves a lot of eBay watching, ha ha. Just figured I would introduce myself, hopefully I can keep collecting more and more 'Mates, and I'll get to stick around for a while!
